Greetings and Salutations,

I am new to these boards and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jeff and I've been a die hard browncoat for three years now. I was wondering if there are any Whedonverse fans in Denver. I've moved here a year ago and still don't really know anyone. I saw there was a great turn out for the Buffy musical last month at The Esquire so maybe someone is on here? I'm just here to hopefully make some friends out here in the verse.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Fillygirl is in Denver, TheRealMe is in Colorado Springs (and so are quite a few others whose names escape me right now) and I'm in Fort Collins. Lovely to meet you! Don't be a stranger!

Hi!

You were at DragonCon? So was I! Loved the panels. One of my favorite moments from the con was the DTV bumper about what faction of fandom would be eaten first on a desert island and the TREMONDOUS roar from the browncoats when Firefly was mentioned.
Do any of the browncoats ever get together in Denver? To watch the series or anything?

I for sure was! Not so much with panels, though, it was mostly hanging out with people. Fly 2000 miles and drop hundreds of dollars to hang out with people. Makes sense, right?
The Rocky Mountain Browncoats are not very active. I tried to start a branch up here for Northern Colorado Browncoats and zero people returned my emilas about it, so that never got off the ground. Mostly there's just the Can't Stop the Serenity screenings, but if you can manage to drum up some response from people, please do!
One thing to note (which I will be noting like hell all over the site) is that WorldCon 2008 will be held in Denver. I would love love love to see a bunch of Jayne hats wandering around! Maybe that would be a good place to get the Colorado 'Coats to at least hang out a bit, if we can find more of them. I'm begging every 'coat I know to come!

I was almost the exact opposite! I flew 2000 miles and spent hundreds of bucks and knew not a soul there. But I went to every Firefly and Buffy panel I could get into! I got the Done The Impossible DVD and promptly watched it as soon as I got home. They mentioned the big online community and I thought I would try to seek yee out. and here ye be! :)

Hello and welcome,...yes I live in Denver, I had tried to be friends with the Denver group, but they seem unfriendly,...when I posted on their board nobody would post back or answer me,...I tried to meet them for a meeting and nobody would talk to me,...so I left and I don't bother with them. They are only about FF,....I am not a Whedon fan as far as Buffy & Angle go, but some of my friends are, I will ask them if there are groups in town and I will post it back here, it won't be right away, I am off of work till Sunday night and I do not get on the PC at home, cause computers are my job and I stay away from them when not at work.

Thanks Deb!

I'm a Whedon fan across the board but haven't met any others in the Denver area. I'm going to the Shindig at D&B tonight so that should be changing! I'm curious, have you tried to watch Buffy or Angel? Are they on the "To Watch Someday" list or is it something you know you just aren't into? I'm completely up for meeting new people and talking til the wee hour so drop me a line when your on the PC!

You can't stop The Signal!

Why do you want to know if I have watched them? The reason behind the question? Do you think that if I watched them I would change my mind? Yes I have watched all of Angel and most of Buffy, don't care for some of the stories and some of the actors...i.e. Sara..........the whole thing was too dark for me..........too depressing.......nothing at all like FF!

Why was I asking? I didn't know if you were completely new to the Whedonverse, found Firefly first and discovered Buffy and Angel were also by the same people and were something you were looking forward exploring. Not trying to convert you or change your opinion, fear not. If you don't like them, you don't like them. There are plenty of shows out there I can't stand but I'm not going to tell people not to watch them. Didn't mean to offend you.
