Anyone here a fan of Quantum Leap?

I most certainly am, and have been all my life. Now, I must say, when I watched Firefly, Simon struck me as somewhat... familiar.

After a while I realized...

He's very reminiscent of Sam Beckett. So much so, in fact, that if there were a remake of Quantum Leap, I think he'd be a perfect match for the part. Not only is he able to pull off the proper, sweet, hands-off-the-merchandise kinda attitude, but honestly I think he looks just like a young Scott Bakula.

Anyone else agree with me?

I really enjoyed the show during it's initial run. I think I was about 11 when the show first aired though, so I don't remember all the details. Give Sean Maher several more years and he could have the look and demeanor of Sam Beckett. This reminds me to try and rent the DVD's.

I liked the show. Made me a Scott Bakula fan. That's the reason I watched Enterprise. Which I also liked. I know, I know, I'm in the minority.

I was and still am a fan.
Although I missed a couple of episodes towards the end of season 4 and kinda lost track of it, so that when season 5 came round I didn't watch it. But I did catch the excellent finale.
I am now gradually working my way through them on DVD.

Scott Bakula was good as Sam but Al was the better character, he had all the good lines, and Dean Stockwell played him perfectly.

Ditto...and ditto...and once again, ditto.
Thanks for reminding me to order the DVD's. I loved that show and got all choked up on the finale - honestly, there were tears!
Sean as a young Sam.
Yea. I can see the resemblence. More Sean would be good thing.

I remember and loved QM too. I'll have to rent it and refresh my memory.

Now that I think of it, you're right, Sean would need a little lighter hair though.

I guess I'd have to agree that Al was the better character, considering I still have much love for Dean Stockwell. Though I still love Scott Bakula too. I just think Sean's portrayal of Simon was very similar to Scott Bakula's portrayal of Sam. The sweet, always-helpful, "hands-off-the-ladies" attitude... y'know?

Yeah Quantum Leap was a good show, just a few too many 'Oh boy', lines in it though.
