Mine:
Goldfinger- the real beginning of the franchise IMHO. Everything came together here. Pure- dare I say it- gold.

Thunderball- The big Bond- most lavish, most expensive, great script with Fleming himself on the team!

Diamonds Are Forever- The slickest of the Connery lot; beautifully photographed and scored, and Connery at the top of his devilish game.

Goldeneye- THE movie that brought Bond back from the cold-war grave. Brosnan was a delight.

Tomorrow Never Dies- Interesting villain, excellent score, best all-around Bond girl ever in Wai Lin.

Now yours ?

THESOMNAMBULIST

Well I'm not a huge fan of bond but I do like the films on a rainy day.

1 - License to Kill (Yes I have no problem with Dalton)
2 - The Spy who Loved me (The Lotus chase)
3 - You Only Live Twice (The volcano battle)
4 - For your Eyes Only (2CV car chase)
5 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Just about the best Bond score ever)

REGINAROADIE

I agree with you with GOLDFINGER, DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER (it has my all time favorite Bond stunt where he grapples onto the edge of the hotel roof. Very simple, but you really believe he's dangling off the edge and it just gets you on edge) and TOMORROW NEVER DIES (It's more likely now than ten years ago that a media baron could take over the world).

But two others I loved were FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (you really got the sense that Bond really was dangerous and had something of a mean streak in him) and MOONRAKER (simply for how insanely outlandish and over the top it was. I mean, that whole shootout in zero gravity with everyone shooting lasers at each other? Both awesome and laughable at the same time. Plus it's the only Roger Moore Bond movie that really sticks out in my mind)

"And it starts with a sentence that might last a lifetime, or it all might just go down in flames. If I let you know me, then why would you want me? Each day I don't is a shame. Each day I don't is a great shame."

Loudon Wainwright III - "Strange Weirdos" off the "Knocked Up" soundtrack

Man With The Golden Gun is the Moore Film I like best. And Live And Let Die has the best boat chase I've ever seen (they did a good one in World Is Not Enough that copied it somewhat).

LWAVES

1. You Only Live Twice.
Japanese girls, that HUGE set and Donald Pleasance.

2. Goldfinger.
The Aston Martin is enough of a reason but they also give us the laser scene and the great line "Do you expect me to talk" "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die".

3. Live And Let Die.
Favourite Bond theme, plus a great speedboat chase.

4. The Spy Who Loved Me.
I have a soft spot for the Lotus and Barbara Bach, plus the Union Jack parachute.

5. Casino Royale.
Just for re-inventing Bond. Okay they copied Bourne but it still works.

Honourable mention to On Her Majestys Secret Service for having the best song that isn't a theme - We Have All The Time In The World.

"I don't believe in suicide, but if you'd like to try it it might cheer me up to watch.
