ok - and i'll try and be non-spoily...

BSG 4 - seems to me that there are parallels with Buffy 7 (i have a love/hate relationship with that season).

I don't mean copying or anything but - Spike's initial arc, hiding away - being mad - going over to the first or not etc and the bloody time it took to deal with... is not unlike the starbuck/demetrius set up - especially as the gears are moving now. Patience was needed with Buffy 7 and it seems too with BSG 4.

Also - the Giles -- first or not? - red herring (which lead to some oddities in his characterisation) is not far removed from BSG's 'are they a cylon?' this season.

lastly - the pre-eminence of a long story/arc Buffy versus the first... a story which which made some episodes collapse under its weight - can be seen now in BSG where the pace of the over-plot feels a little padded.. (a few stand alone episodes might have helped - but not too many!)

on the other hand - just as Buff 7 has some of the very best episodes and sequences (and villains!) in the whole show - so too BSG 4 has already had me jumping up and down yelling FRACK! FRACK! MOTHERFRACKER!:)
and generally exploding with excitement. When the season ends i will be like a baby with their candy stolen.

oh but i'm a freak right - season 2 of BSG is my fave...
