Now, I realize that's a pretty tantalizing title, but this project is nowhere near existing yet. All I've got is an idea and a couple of Mal sprites ()

What I could really use to get started are some level backgrounds, starting with Serenity's cockpit, and possibly another for each part of the ship. This game (if it ever makes it off the ground) would be based on the old SCUMM engine Lucasarts adventures, so I'd like the backgrounds to be in the VGA color pallet (that's this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/66/VGA_palette_with_bl
ack_borders.svg
) They can be any width, but SCUMM engine standard height is 200 pixels.

You stay shiny, browncoats!

About time. I've been saying someone needs to do this every-time someone brings up a MMORP (or whatever they're called) game. Flash games are the way to go if we want to see some continuation of the Verse in game form. Point and Click games, Escape the Room games, Tower Defense games, so many possibilities. Damn, deadlox I am SO looking forward to this. I LOVE Point and Click games (even though I'm not very good at them and end up using a Walkthough) I just am stoked that someones doing this. I just gotta.......

SQUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Now that that's out of my system, I can't wait. Flash games are huge on the net and these types of games in particular are popular, this will be another way to get the word out and make new fans.

FINALLY, we get a fan who can make it happen.

Now if you need help in creating this game there's a site I frequent regularly who not only review and post Flash Games but also promote and help game programmers out. Go to this site http://jayisgames.com/ for all the info you need. They could also steer you in the direction of other programmers, artists, etc. GOOD LUCK LAD.

SHINY ALL THE WAY.

Actually, I was planning to make the game in Adventure Game Studio. From what I've seen, it's a bit easier to use for making this type of game, and the results end up a little more professional-looking.

As for your enthusiasm, it's much appreciated! I knew I wasn't the only one who wanted to see a game like this!

hehe I assume this would be in the same vein as Space Quest, yes? I used to enjoy those games. Good old Roger Wilco.

Holy crap, this is going to be awesome if it kicks off. Combining Firefly with the old SCUMM engine? Sounds like something I'd only dream about. The Secret of Monkey Island is, like, my favourite game ever (not to say I don't enjoy Half-Life, it's just not the same...)

You can count me in on whatever front you need me, except musical composition. I can script, test, code and sprite. On top of that, I have a few friends who normally help me with whatever project I want help with, so I can provide concept art, music and animated sprites too, ha.

Let's get this on the road, huh? :)

I hate to double post, and to burst bubbles, but I'm afraid I'm going to do both right now. "Adventure Game Studio" and "professional-looking" don't deserve to be used in the same sentence. You could actually develop it for the original SCUMM engine, which would be interesting and not all that difficult (I sholdn't think). Otherwise, I'd say pursue a proper coding language like BlitzMax ( www.blitzmax.com).
