Thanks, Piratenews. Knew you'd be good for 'going there', even when it wasn't called for.

Bravo!

At least Bush took CARE of the terrorists, instead of his own like that.

More relevant to Firefly related stuff, I made the Operative poster as my sig on another , non sci-fi related forum. I was glad to see so many others 'get' my reference to the movie, whether they agreed w/ any political commentary or not. It's gotten a lot of positive feed back. Seems The Operative has a fan club, of sorts.

He did? When did he capture or kill Osama bin Laden?

And why are there still so many terrorist attacks if Bush "took care" of them?

Or did you mean he actually "took care" of them, like gave them money, food, weapons, and free passage?

Oh, thanks for that, O2B - I knew you'd be going there, too, especially when and where it wasn't called for.

So tell me again how any of your crap has to do with the "Talk Story" forum? Face it - you want to post political garbage, but you're too scared to go into the RWED area again, because you got your arse handed to you on a daily basis in there.

But Chris, you have to understand that for the so-called "conservatives", massive wastes of money are only really worthwhile if they're also accompanied by massive wastes of human life! I mean, it's not the waste of money that really bothers them - it's the NOT GETTING TO BLOW ANYONE UP while wasting all that money.

After all, "shit gettin' blowed up real good" looks better on TV than people being healthy, right?

It's sad when you come to a Firefly site and some insist on making it near impossible to enjoy. Some just can't let go of anything, no matter what. I offered an innocuous bit of humor, and y'all see how some over reacted. By posting pics of a charred corpse and a drown victim. Now you tell me how that's anywhere remotely called for. In defense of Rap, his Obamacare poster wasn't particularly mean spirited. The instant I saw it, I did kinda think that it should have gone in RWED, but as Rap swore off that end of the site (and has kept his word, for which I applaud him) I know why he didn't.

I just knew that Kwicko would jump all over it, though. Quite honestly, you should have seen it coming as well, AURaptor. Did you honestly think that they WOULDN'T comment the way they did? Given the background of all the garbage you guys have gone through perhaps it would have been better to "bite your tongue" no matter how funny you thought it was? And yes . . . I did find the poster humorous, too.

Oh quit crying, you big baby.

You wanted to slam the President, you wanted to slam healthcare reform, but you're too much a coward to do it in RWED, where it belongs, so you try to sneak it in somewhere where it's not remotely appropriate.

And that you think it's innocuous is the really sad part. Yes, referencing a movie where they wiped out an entire planet is a VERY innocent way of poking fun. Referencing a character who refers to himself as a monster, and trying to tie that to the President - how can anyone be offended by that?

Maybe you can explain to all of us how that was anywhere near remotely called for in the "Talk Story" forum. If you just wanted to test out the pic to see if it was working, you know full well that there's a ton of "test" threads in Troll Country, where this wouldn't even have gotten noticed.

The pictures I posted up were of things that actually happened under the Bush regime, and under his orders and his responsibility. If you're offended, GOOD! That means maybe you're starting to wake up!

I posted it, so the 'coward' charge is baseless. It was a harmless commentary on current affairs with a reference all here would at least identify with, and hopefully get a chuckle out of. So, because something happens with in a certain time period, it's in good taste to post a picture of it ? Sorry, but those things are no where relevant to the issue I was posting about, and you know it. You're just hyper reacting because you can't deal w/ the issue at hand on face value, so you have to go over board and make the most salacious, graphic and ridiculous examples possible. Who knows? As for your PM, I can see a certain resemblance...but he doesn't strike me as particularly cuddly. But I don't know the man - perhaps he's more cuddly in person...?

ETA: 'Course, if Brother O'Rapture had used a pic of a koala (or your PM) instead of the Operative, and made the main caption "KOALACARE,' then that certainly would've lightened the mood. It wouldn't have made a hell of a lot of sense, but the mood would be lighter...

What was cowardly was WHERE you posted it. You posted it somewhere away from RWED because you're a coward. You already ran away from there, crying, whinging, bitching and moaning about how it was so unfair the way you were treated after calling people names like "fucking ass hole" and "fucking moron". So you thought you'd post something political, but you decided to do it in the most chickenshit way possible. And now you're mad that you got called on it, and as usual, you're trying to play the helpless victim. Come down off your cross, little girl - we need the lumber!

Quote:

Uh-huh. Yup, you've thrown a tantrum, played "victim", whined about how it's not fair, gone completely apeshit, and now you're comparing ME to PN. And calling me thin-skinned in the bargain. Seems more than a bit thin-skinned of you to get your little panties in such a bunch.

Quote:

You mean THESE swastikas?

Here's one from Hannity's website:

Yeah, I can't imagine where she got the idea that THAT ever happened. The fact that you seem so okay with it proves what an asshole you really are. Hopefully not all conservatives are worthless dolts like you, but clearly these tea-baggers are.

Quote:

So, because something happens with in a certain time period, it's in good taste to post a picture of it ?

"Happens with in a certain time period"? Really? You say that lilke Bush had nothing to do with any of these things. Yeah, Bush just HAPPENED to wake up one day and find out that the U.S. had invaded Iraq and killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians. And his administration just HAPPENED to condone and legalize torture of prisoners. Sure, he had NOTHING AT ALL to do with any of that.

And isn't he the same guy who put Brownie in charge of the agency responsible for responding to natural disasters? Yeah, THAT move made perfect sense. In a post-9/11 world, the guy you want in charge of responding to catastrophes is a guy whose biggest job qualification previous to that was that he like to look at horse cocks. Seriously, he was a fucking horse-show judge - a job that involves looking at a horse's cock, nodding, and saying, "Next."

Tell me, how is it in good taste to imply that Obama is going to kill the entire planet? Or that he's an operative, a self-described "monster" who kills children? What part of your tiny little lizard brain though THAT was in good taste?

Quote:

Your dear and fluffy lord has been questioned, so you decide to drop a # 2 in the punch bowl and spoil the party for everyone.

MY "dear and fluffy lord"? Sorry, I dont' have one of those. Although it seems rather telling that once YOUR lord and master, Dubya Bush, was questioned, you went completely nuts as usual.

As for dropping a deuce in the punch bowl, the rest of us actually thought it was pretty damned funny. You were the only one upset, because you dove in and bit into the turd.

You wanna have a reasoned debate about healthcare reform? I'm all ears. Since you're so plugged into the Republican side of things, I'm hoping you can show us all exactly where in the bill the "death panels" that Sarah Palin keeps bringing up are mentioned. I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Tommy Lee Jones' deadpan delivery in that sequence cracks me up every time.

Give it time . . . Obama has about 3 1/2 years to get some "doofus" images taken of him, I'm sure. That is if the media is brave enough to actually make them public.

Ya know, I actually DID do a Google search for "Obama goofy pictures", but none of them really struck me as TRULY doofy enough. But give him time, and I guarantee he's going to have one of those really embarrassing face-down-on-the-tarmac kind of moments.

So far, the "goofiest" pic I could really find was Obama looking at a chick's ass. And that just proves that he's a guy, and that he's straight... :)

And yanno. . . I saw that pic and the video and honestly it looks like he wasn't even lookin' at the butt. He was looking back to guide another person down the stairs.

So maybe not so straight after all?

But really . . . those pics of a young Obama in the hat and smokin' a cigarette do kinda make him look like a hipster doofus.

Now those are kinda funny! Was that so tough ?

RIPWASH - Hey, say what you want about Obama and his favorable media coverage, but the guy probably is the coolest, hippest Prez we've had..... since Teddy Roosevelt ? ( I'm guessing Teddy was 'cool' for his time, so it's sorta hard to compare ) Gotta give PrezBo his due on that. Like Will Smith in MIB ...

"You know the difference between you and me? I make this look good ".

You might be on to something there. Ike was likable (hence the campaign slogan!), Kennedy was... well, he was young and had a semi-hot wife, but I don't know if he was seen as actually being "cool" or hip. Obama IS cool. The problem is, he knows it. Nothing kills cool quicker than someone thinking they're too cool.

In the spirit of bipartisanship, though, I *will* find a doofy picture of Obama. Even if I have to trip him myself to get it! :)

If that IS a "cigarette" he's smoking...

I dunno, though - he still looks pretty cool doing it.

Now the "Mom jeans" thing I'll give ya. Nobody looks good in those jeans!

ETA: Here ya go!

Problem is it doesn't work the other way around. Knowing you're not cool, thinking you're not cool and acting like you're not cool does NOT make you cool. Learned that the hard way.

Obama is one cool cat. And I think it's okay to know you're cool when you're, you know, the Most Powerful Man in the World (it's important to remember, that's a political title ).

I think that was a bit on The Simpsons. When Homer joined the 'Hullahbalooza' tour, if I'm not mistaken.
