One of my favorite shows has always been At The Movies. The movie review show that Siskel and Ebert used to host. Now I respect Ebert's reviews more than any movie reviewer, so when he left the show a few years ago leaving Richard Roeper in charge I was a little worried.

Well Roeper eventually left, and At the Movies got 2 new hosts last year. I don't remember one of the new hosts, but I do remember seeing Ben Lyons as the other one. That's when I decided to never watch the flippin show again.

It's not that I don't respect Lyons reviews of movies....but Wait a second, I don't! I believe he reviewed I Am Legend as one of the best movies of that year. ? Wow.

Anyway, I was flipping through channels last Sunday night, and glimpsed the show with 2 new hosts.
A.O Scott, and Michael Philips. I watched it, and it was amazing. Two very good movie reviewers are now in charge.
I especially like A.O Scott.
Intelligent, thought provoking film reviews have returned to At The Movies. So happy to finally see my favorite show again.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I may start watching it again. I swore off the show about 19 years ago when neither Siskel or Ebert placed my favorite film that year in their Top 10. I didn't expect either of them to make it their number one, but to not even mention the Coen's "Miller's Crossing" was a travesty. And the Academy erred in not nominating it in any category as well.

What the?? Yeah, Miller's Crossing is the Coen brothers finest piece of work. I always thought it has been criminally underrated. Of course when Fargo came out all the critics fell all over it. Which is ironic because Miller's Crossing is a superior crime thriller in every way. I thought it would at least make Ebert's "Top 10" for that year.
Oh well.

Yep, me too.

I first starting watching ATM when Siskel & Ebert did their thing on PBS. They were the originators.
Watching anyone else attempt to do the same is.....well......

...like watching Chris Duhon shoot baskets after MJ has left the building, what's the point.

But I tried watching those 2 (Lyons and the other guy) and it was like watching milk dry - long, boring and (you get the picture).

I'll give the new guys a try though.

Really!?, they left off Miller's Crossing. Well even the best can have an off day.
