You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Ooooooouch. Even with a 'preorder discount' I'm not sure I can swing that....

If I had a house, and money, that thing would be on my mantle front a center. Flanked to the right by a Millennium Falcon, and to the left a Colonial Viper. To the left of the mantle, Darth Vader suit, to the right, a Mal coat replica.

*Sighs* Why do I have to be a broke art student?

Ash

America loves a winner!

The BDR isn't a problem. It's finding a suitable room in which to show it off. Something like that would certainly be the centre piece.

Soon. Maybe soon....

Unfortunately I don't have a first born to sell. I guess I'll have to wait for the assembly required version.

There will not be an assembly required version.
Early in the development, people asked about a kit they could assemble themselves.
The admin explained that licensing of model kits is a whole 'nother matter, and even more costly to the licensee.

Your best hope is that the unlighted, unsigned, static BDR (Big Damn Replica) is released and that it is within your price range.

I'm mostly joking. I could never bring myself to spend that kind of money on something like this. There are too many good causes in this world that could use it.

It's against my principles to pay this much for any display item that mostly will just collect dust on a mantle.

"They say that mercy is the sign of a great man." STAB "Guess I'm just a good man." STAB "Well, I'm all right."

From what I've read, they aren't going to be producing the unlighted, unsigned version :o/

She is a glorious looking model, and I would love to have her, but even with the $500 pre-order discount, I can't justify that kind of expense.

This saddens me so much, I really can't express it. What saddens me more is that the price really puts this out of range for most fans. :o/

What I wouldn't give to have her tho... just not, you know, $2500 bucks ;o|

1400 people signed on to the waiting list.
I have to wonder if even 10% will be able to pony up twenty-five hundred bucks for the Serenity replica.

Especially when "this" was the fans' original expectation.

My expectation is that after 100 to 200 of the super fancy editions sell, sales will die off.
I'd expect QMx to release the downgraded version for $1,200 to $1,500 at that point.

I have to admit that I'm curious how many BDR are actually being bought.
$2,500 is a LOT of money to most folks;
more than I imagine most have as disposable income for a display piece.

Mike

I would give that if I had it to give. Unfortunately, unless this beauty doubles as a high-powered computer... or a car... or dental work... or hell, two trips to a convention... there are other places my money needs to go. Breaks a heart.
