“A Jew may have sex with a child as long as the child is less than nine years old.”
-Jewish Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 54b

"A circumcision ritual practiced by Orthodox Jews has alarmed city health officials, who say it may have led to three cases of herpes - one of them fatal - in infants. The practice is known as oral suction, or in Hebrew, metzitzah b'peh: after removing the foreskin of the penls, the practitioner, or mohel, sucks the blood from the wound to clean it."

In one corner we have: Hundreds if not thousands of victims coming forward and cover-ups within the Catholic Church coming to light. A scandal spannign decades.

In the other corner we have: One case of a religious practice gone terribly wrong - already in the process of being handled by the authorities! - and a quote that provides zero context, thus being taken almost certainly out of context, thus being complete BS.

Yeah, we should totally forget about all those abusive priests and focus on the evil Jews instead.

How about we forget about PN and focuse on those other interesting threads? You KNOW his obsession...you KNOW he must have spent ages trying to find something he could put up to compare the Juuuz to the Catholic scandal...why are you surprised?

I think the timing of the Church's problems is hysterical...Easter week. Talk about things "rising from the dead"!!!

I know, I know... it's senseless to even try.

The thing I find most interesting in all this is how much they focus on this pope and how little on the one before him. I mean, sure, everyone loved JP2, but... he HAD to have known.

LITTLEBIRD

Actually sex abuse by Orthodox Rabbi's is a big problem. My husband and I have a friend who has written a book about it. It's called Tempest in the Temple by Amy Neustein. She has been through hell and back to get this information out. Percentage wise I would have to say that the problem is as deeply entrenched in the Rabbinical community as it is with the Catholic Priests. The truth is starting to come out.

It's WRONG wherever it's found.

Here is a link to Amy's book if anyone is interested.

HKCAVALIER

All three Abrahamic religions condone child sexual abuse in their sacred texts. Certain strains of fundamentalism within all Abrahamic religions (Hey, Mormonism, sit down, I'm talking about you too--Joe Smith was a pedo and he wrote a pedo handbook) latch onto these passages as justification for abuse.

Thing is, psychologically, this stuff is powerfully multigenerational--people learn in infancy how infants get treated in this world, it gets imprinted on us before we even learn to talk. Without a metric shitload of self-examination and healing, people simply repeat "traditions," whether its coloring Easter Eggs, or fucking their children. Or circumcising their sons and mutilating their daughters.

Hey, Littlebird, long time no see!

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean. We don't have to be mean, because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

Perhaps this is the time to treat religion like they were anybody else.

No tax exeptions

No shielding them from lawsuits

When they step out of line, they go into a cell with the other deviants

They are not all bad, but every time you put someone above yourself... and don't come down hard when they step out of line it turns into a massive problem

Religion, Government, Schools

Whatever

the lack of any reasonable accountability will be our undoing if we don't address it

An additional thought...

If religion was to be treated like everyone else...

Women could sue the Catholic Church for discrimination unless they allow Women Priests

Priest could marry, and if they catch any flak, or they try to fire them... wrongful dismissal suit

How much money does the Church have ?

sounds better all the time
reform or go broke lol

now, how to do the same with political partys...

maybe the careful application of gunfire would be more appropriate there

If there's such a thing as reincarnation, then I've hated the church for centuries. I say we have an old-fashioned 'inquest' and then a nice bonfire.

I didn't know that, Cavalier, thank you. Religions need to change with the times, just like the Constitution!

Hear, hear to both! And I agree; religious exemptions should be excluded--they make enough money as it is, thank you! And again, things need to change with the times, in my opinion, and nobody should be above the law or shielded by religion.

EVERYONE gets a tax exemption... it's called the US Constitution.

Before the US Revolution, the Church of England was the tax collector for the king pope of the British Empire in the American colonies.

Notice how legislators, police, prosecutors and judges protect pedophiles from justice by We The People, and preachers/priests/rabbis of kosher IRS501c3govt churches say pay President Caesar his bogus income tax?

Littlebird, interesting bit of work, and despite the overlap, it's still worth having both books, as Stan and Roy hit on a couple points your friend might not have been aware of.

Don't let how far there is to go be discouraging, cause when I first started tackling this issue as well as the Hellcamps, both things were considered naught more than just a myth, a conspiracy theory, and automatically dismissed as such by a disbelieving populace.

Never forget just how tremendous a victory shoving this matter into the public arena was.

For what the " US Constitution " is worth you might as well wipe your ass with it

After all, that is what the real powers behind your government do
