...and the Ballad of Serenity isn't even on the list!

10 Catchiest Theme Songs of the 2000s - Screen Rant
http://screenrant.com/10-catchiest-tv-theme-songs-2000s-benp-56654/

While looking for a YouTube clip of the intro to post in the comments, along with my chagrin, I stumbled across this, which got me kinda excited...

OK - who ever these folks are, it seems like they just randomly chose 10 shows they liked, and put up what ever theme song that went with it.

Among the lamest of lists I've ever seen.

The Ballad of Serenity vid is great. Is she dubbing that from another artist? The sound isn't queued up w/ the video, so it's kinda hard to tell. Great voice,

Bones: "Don't 'rawr' her!"
Booth: "What? she'rawred' me first."

Nah, that's her singing, but the audio isn't synced for some reason. I've seen a lot of AVI videos that have that problem.

Of all of them I'd say that only Scrubs could be described as catchy. The others may be appropriately themed to their show but that doesn't make them catchy.

Off-hand I can name these catchy themes:

Banana Splits
The Monkees
Scrubs (as mentioned by the list)
Rockford Files
A-Team
Red Hand Gang
Only Fools And Horses
Blackadder
Red Dwarf
Doctor Who (depending on the version)
Magnum PI

Plus I could possibly include Buffy, Quantum Leap, Robot Chicken, Due South as well.

I'm sure there are plenty more catchy themes ou there....

While that list is absolute garbage, I can't stop laughing at the Jabba the Hutt parody of the Parks and Rec theme song. By the way, Parks and Rec and The Office and other shows on that list are very good in my opinion, but I never cared at all about their theme songs. I like the theme to the office but "Most Catchy?" Meh.

I started to do my own list and rail against them for excluding shows like Friends, Cheers, A-Team, The Jeffersons and Happy days but then I read their rule that the shows has to be post 2000 and discovered that's really hard. Besides Firefly what can we really add to the list?

Doctor Who (depending on the version)

Original 60s/70s version, made by gluing together lots of bits of magnetic tape, of course - Duh! Actually the 11th Doc version music is starting to grow on me to the extent that, by the end of this series I might not hate it, nah, Delia Derbyshire or nuthing.

Meanwhile, most of the Gerry Anderson shows had notable theme tunes, esp. Thunderbirds.

Now, Best SF theme, for me, would have to be the Also Sprach Zarathustra overture (2001 and, if my childhood memories are to be trusted, the Apollo programme coverage). Hell, the whole score for 2001 was inspired (even if it wasn't original). Not sure about catchy, though (esp. the Ligetti bits!)

Doctor Who a close second, though.

Star Wars theme? Pah. Thunderbirds is better!

Hell yeah I saw it. Loved that whole sequence with the theme playing over the top. Coolest movie since....maybe forever. Need to see it again to decide.

I hadn't picked up on the fact that they went for post 2000 shows only. That really does limit their choice. It's still a crappy list though.

I'm with you. And I was thinking maybe The Sopranos ("Woke Up This Morning"), but it started in '99, so misses the cut.

But if you want REAL catchy theme songs, stuff like the Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Andy Griffith Show, All In The Family, MASH, Flipper, Lassie, Maude, Welcome Back Kotter, WKRP In Cincinnati, and othrs way more than top that list. Hell, I never even knew "Alias" or "Boston Legal" *had* theme songs.

A fantastic show but is the theme song catchy?
I personally don't think so as I never found myself humming it after a viewing like I do with most of the others.

That list is pretty bad. Smallville? How is that in any way catchy? Sorry but Firefly's theme is not catchy either.

I'm fine with the big bang theory and how I met your mother.

I'm throwing the spectacular spider-man out there even though it's probably not watched by many.

Wonderfalls is a good choice.

Don't think anybody's said it yet, but I also gotta say "The Unit"- both versions (even though most people hate the second one). I love anything in a cadence. It STILL cuts me they shot down a great fifth season... SnakeDoc shoulda gone out in style, man...

Seriously? No love for Dexter?!!!!

Dexter is not only an amazing show (my favorite, hands-down, without question next to Firefly), but the theme song is epically incredible as well.

Also, I have to agree with the review in one respect or another - the theme to Veronica Mars is essentially the only reason I watched it, the How I Met Your Mother theme is catchy as hell, mainly because it is so short, and the theme for the Office is really catchy too.

Yeah, most of the list is b.s. but I have to agree on some points.
