I just started reading Thomas Harris' novel "Red Dragon", since I'm a big fan of Michael Mann's 1986 film Manhunter, which was based on it.
I'd seen Silence of the Lambs when it came out, and was as impressed with Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter as everyone else was, but I never saw Ridley Scott's Hannibal [2001], or Brett Ratner's Red Dragon [2002].

So, once I started on the book, I had to go out and get the two film versions for comparison!
It's really cool how both versions took so much of the dialogue verbatim from the book, which leads to cool YouTube clips like this...
