I'd never watched Top Gear before, so I downloaded the premiere of the current season.
One segment had me laughing so hard, I literally started horkin' up stuff!
It was devoted to the Reliant Robin, probably the stupidest car ever manufactured!

Apparently, since any vehicle with less than four wheels is classified as a "motorcycle" in the U.K., you get a big tax break, so this thing has sold like hotcakes since the 70s, even though you can't make a sharp turn at anything more than walking speed without it flipping over!
Never mind how it got off the drawing board, I can't fathom how it got past the napkin sketch or the idle thought in the shower! One would expect that just thinking about it logically for a few seconds would light up the big "Bad Idea" sign in one's head.

I can't find the segment I saw on YouTube, but I did find a few that are almost as good...

The Top Gear team even tried to convert one into a Space Shuttle a couple years ago!

I'm a gearhead, a car guy, and Top Gear is really the ONLY car show I can watch on a regular basis. It's informative, irreverent, and utterly hilarious.

Here's another Reliant Robin clip for you.

I still can't keep from laughing soda out my nose when I see what they'll do with these things! The space shuttle was my favorite, until Clarkson took off and rolled the thing turning out of the parking lot.

Track down the Vietnam trip episode if you get a chance. That, and any of the ones where they come to America, especially the one where they go through the South. ;)

Okay, so how twisted is it that I now really REALLY want a Reliant Robin?

I'm sorry, but putting one of those little buggers onto its windows just looks like a hoot. It really does.

Oh, and the guy who was driving the Robin in that episode is one of the hosts of the show, Jeremy Clarkson.

Here he is in an even more ridiculous car, the Peel P50.

I must hereby warn you to SET DOWN YOUR DRINK RIGHT NOW, OR IT WILL BE ON YOUR MONITOR!

Always glad to share the Top Gear awesomeness with others! Most automotive shows are just so dry and boring I can't stand them. Top Gear just rocks. Hell, my wife even likes it; we can rarely get through an ep without howling with laughter at their shenanigans.

There was supposed to be an American version with Adam Corolla, but fortunately it was aborted. They would have screwed it up and probably somehow ruined the BBC version!

LWAVES

I'm not a gear head by a long stretch, I don't even drive, but Top Gear is easily one of the best and funniest shows on TV. Despite their bickering on screen the three presenters genuinely appear to have a great time and they do get some great guests on sometimes for the 'Star In A Reasonably Priced Car' segment. Just in the last few weeks they had Jeff Goldblum, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz which are pretty big stars for a 'pokey motoring show' (Clarksons words).
The Stig is a classic invention and I love the little bits they say about him before he does his lap. You know the "Some say...." introductions.
Brilliant stuff.

I would also recommend the specials. The Vietnam one is great, so is the one in Bolivia. The American one in the South was utterly hilarious and one of the times when you realise that not everything you see is staged, especially after the write on their cars.

As for the Reliant Robin it is seen as joke over here in the UK. It featured prominently as Del Boy's car in Only Fools And Horses in many hilarious scenes (especially the one where Rodney is being chased) plus had several appearances in Mr Bean as well where it was always being knocked over or pushed out of the way.
