"The second annual Smithville Music Festival, to be held Nov. 6 at Riverbend Park (on Hwy 71, 45 miles east of Austin) will feature a special appearance by blues great Sonny Rhodes, jamming with headliner Jimmie Vaughan. A native of Smithville, Rhodes turns 70 on Nov. 3. He’ll also perform Nov. 5 at the former West End Park in Smithville, where his guitar-playing career began."

For those who don't know who Sonny Rhodes is, he is the voice that sings, "Take my love, take my land" at the beginning of each episode.

I'm in Texas :) its about 2 hours drive for me. If i can afford it, I will attend. He has an incredible voice and I would love to hear it live. I would be shocked if the Austin Browncoats don't attend.

Thanks for the news, artcat. I'll try to make it, hope to see you there. How long has it been since we saw each other at ApolloCon? Has it been three years? Or more?

While I was there I got Greg Edmonson to autograph my Firefly soundtrack. It would be awesome to get Sonny's as well.

ETA: I may be blind, but I don't see Sonny listed on that webpage.
