Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

I was going to post thie in a forum for "BDHs", but apparently there isn't one. I just happened to catch Summer Glau in some (possibly made-for-TV?) movie. Was reminded: Gawd, she's gorgeous! She looked JUST like she did in Firefly...I've seen her more recently and caught her in another movie where I really had to look to recognize her, which saddens me.

Been catching a lot of movies with Dushku and seen Charisma Carpenter in a few, too. Caught Baccarin in some B movie about monsters in the desert a while ago; I couldn't believe how different she looked. I'm glad they're all getting work of one kind or another, but somehow it saddens me to see them elsewhere when I know what they're capable of...sigh.

At LEAST Fillion got a series which fits him--actually in some ways better than Mal did, and Baldwin fits just perfectly in Chuck. Just sad, is all; it's nice to see them here and there, but...you know...

I was just especially struck by seeing Summer Glau look SO like she did as River...and in this she was the bad guy, even! Something about a honeymoon on a cruise ship, I forget what. None of te movies I've seen any of them in have been first-rate movies, which also saddens me.

I guess I'm experiencing some "Firefly sadness" is all...

the cruise one is called deadly honeymoon,

what was the other movie where you had to look a little extra hard to recognise her in?

Lord, I don't remember...I watch B-grade movies on Sci Fi and other stations a lot (beats network tv!), and it was a while ago. I'll check.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

The Sci-Fi "Original" film she was in was Mammoth, which co-starred Vincent Ventresca as her father and Tom Skerritt as her grandfather. She was also in a film on either Lifetime or ABC Family called The Initiation of Sarah. Both are from 2006. I saw both of them. Neither was very good, but not because of Summer.

yeah they might not be very good, but Mammoth can make me laugh, sad there has not been made a continuation, it do end, on the: the end.. maybe or some such

and the initiation, not that good, a little funny.

well just good to see Summer make some good work with a bad script, in both cases

i had no trouble recognising summer in either
