I'm bored, and it's early, and nobody is posting because you're all probably still asleep or ready for work, but I wanted to tell you about this great card.

I've made 2 purchases on Amazon this year, for free, with bonus points I've acquired since I've had it. The first was 4 LED motion detecting lights which light up my closets, and the second was a pair of earbuds for my iPod knockoff that pumped out such great sound I heard things I never even noticed in songs before I had them.

I just got a notice that I've got another 2800 plus points now, which translates to another 28 plus bucks of "Amazon" cash, and is 3 bucks over the necessary amount for free shipping on most of their purchases.

I'm a minimalist, and I don't buy much, but I put everything on this card and pay it off right away. I was pissed when I couldn't pay my property taxes with the card online because they were charging a "39.95" convenience charge which would have dwarfed my $11.50 in Amazon cash for the transaction.

You get 3% back on any Amazon purchase, 2% on any gas, restaurant or drug-store purchase, and 1% on anything else.

28 bucks, and free shipping. That's got to be enough to get something cool that I've wanted for a while but wouldn't pay for.....

Seriously, if you're responsible with credit, look into it. In the last 12 months I've gotten enough credits for nearly 100 bucks worth of free shit from Amazon delivered to my door with no shipping charges.

Knew that.

Hulu plus is giving away free two month trials, too.

Nice tip Wish, but I borrow all the TV and Movies I need without those commercials...

Then again, I wouldn't have even know nabout "TED" had my new work friends not mentioned it on break...

If you're ordering a lot of stuff from Amazon, Amazon Prime gets you free 2-day shipping, plus tons of free video content, etc.

And if you don't need it in two days, you can choose slower shipping and they'll give you credits for MP3 song downloads.

And if you're a big reader, you get access to the Kindle Lending Library. Yay, free books (but only for Kindle devices).

That's cool that you get the videos too. They didn't offer me that when I had a free one month trial... just the free shipping. It was nice to have, but I didn't use it much at all. My brother and his wife buy a ton of stuff online though, so they have it and they love it. I didn't know about the credits for mp3 downloads for slower shipping too.

Amazon really has a great market place. Good for them for putting in the continuing R&D necessary to keep a business thriving while keeping the costs down. It doesn't hurt that you don't pay taxes on the stuff yet either (although I'm SURE that will change in the near future).

As a rewards card though, It's the best out there now in my opinion. I used to have a card that gave me 5% back on food and grocery-store purchases, and 1% back on everything else. That was the BEST card I've ever had, but when credit starting drying up they raised my intrest rate from 7.99% to 12.99% and made it only 1% cash back on all purchases.

The Sears/K-Mart card actually has the potential for even better rewards, but you have to also have the "shop your way rewards" card and remember to put a bit of work into it. Any purchases you make at Sears/KMart with your sears card, as long as you had them scan your SYW card too, are potentially worth 5x's the bonus points on your SYW card (5 cents on every dollar spent, good towards future purchases at either store). You also get bonus points on your Sears card worth 1%, for a total of 6% towards future purchaces. It sounds great, but the only problem is that you actually have to call an 800 number and request the bonus points be added, otherwise you only get 2%...... Too much of a pain for me.
