Back in those days ('69 - '72) everybody of my generation believed she was right. It wasn't until I got older and more conservative that I started to think of her as a traitor. But then I'd see her in one of her early films where she is so smoking hot and irresistable, and any ill feelings towards her would disappear. She apologized to the nation for her actions back then, and that took courage. I don't think about her politics any more, just her legacy of great movies like.... 1981 On Golden Pond 1980 Nine to Five 1979 The Electric Horseman 1979 The China Syndrome 1978 Coming Home 1977 Julia 1977 Fun with Dick and Jane 1973 Steelyard Blues 1971 Klute 1969 They Shoot Horses, Don't They? 1968 Barbarella 1967 Barefoot in the Park 1967 Hurry Sundown 1966 Any Wednesday 1965 Cat Ballou 1963 Sunday in New York 1962 Period of Adjustment 1962 The Chapman Report 1962 Walk on the Wild Side (she played Kitty Twist, my favorite of all her roles)

Well, I’m not going to say the words ‘Barack Obama,’ but … we are heading for a major conflict between the haves and the have nots. I came here many years ago with a biker movie and we stopped a war. Now, it’s about starting the world. I sent an email to President Obama saying, ‘You are a fucking traitor,’ using those words… ‘You’re a traitor, you allowed foreign boots on our soil telling our military — in this case the coastguard – what they can and could not do, and telling us, the citizens of the United States, what we could or could not do’.” -Peter Fonda, producer of “The Big Fix” about the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Cannes Film Festival 2011, www.infowars.com/peter-fonda-issues-threat-against-obama-is-there-a-dhs-double-standard/ https://www.google.com/search?q=peter+fonda+obama

Or did she just offer one of those non-apology apologies, where she says some thing like " I'm sorry if I offended anyone " , but doesn't actually SAY she was sorry for what she did. I only learned what she had done when I got older, and when I found out how she was used, and paraded on the very AAA gun which shot at ( down ? ) our pilots... no. Nothing she could say or do would make amends. I think, will always think, she should have been tried for treason.

I rarely see anything one way, a Gemini trait no doubt. And you've just demonstrated the power of the celebrity endorsement tactic in advertising. You're allowing your positive feelings for Jane , as you remember from your youth, to over write and ignore her very real world views and actions. It's been used for ages, and we see it all the time today. From pushing products, political causes or endorsing candidates.

She was an intelligent voice of a generation that dared to speak against the vulgar absurdity of that war. That war had no cause, no goal, and no purpose. She's 76 now, and she deserves better than to be used as a political prop for Rand Paul.

Quote: Oh, dear. This is probably not the symbolism the White House wanted. Hours after CIA Director John Brennan took the oath of office—behind closed doors, far away from the press, perhaps befitting his status as America's top spy—the White House took pains to emphasize the symbolism of the ceremony. “There's one piece of this that I wanted to note for you,” spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters at their daily briefing. “Director Brennan was sworn in with his hand on an original draft of the Constitution that had George Washington's personal handwriting and annotations on it, dating from 1787.” Earnest said Brennan had asked for a document from the National Archives that would demonstrate the U.S. is a nation of laws. "Director Brennan told the president that he made the request to the archives because he wanted to reaffirm his commitment to the rule of law as he took the oath of office as director of the CIA,” Earnest said. The Constitution itself went into effect in 1789. But troublemaking blogger Marcy Wheeler points out that what was missing from the Constitution in 1787 is also quite symbolic: The Bill of Rights, which did not officially go into effect until December 1791 after ratification by states. (Caution: Marcy's post has some strong language.) That means: No freedom of speech and of the press, no right to bear arms, no Fourth Amendment ban on “unreasonable searches and seizures,” and no right to a jury trial. How ... symbolic? http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/brennan-takes-oath-constitution-without-bill-rights-205110620.html

You're telling me that it was an 'intelligent voice' that chose to speak out against the Vietnam war via hopping on that AAA gun ? I vehemently disagree that she "deserves better ". There are plenty of ways you can speak out against war w/ out giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
