Spike Lee's Black Klansman is a great movie and should be awarded something come Oscar time. It is poignant, relevant and truly funny while delivering
a solid message.

Yes, Spike Lee is definitely back and he brought his "mojo" with him.
He's made an inspiring film based on a true story about the first black
police officer to serve in Colorado Springs in the 70s. 1972 to be exact.
That specific time frame is significant because it was during the time of
another famous (or infamous) scumbag who fancied himself "above the law."

But the story revolves around Officer Ron Stallworth and his investigation into the KKK. He had to combat racism among the rank and file of the police
department, as well as the KKK, but fight on he did. Lee used a light touch
by injecting comedic moments to lighten the mood, you know, that racism
thing. For instance, when Stallworth called the KKK HQ and got to talk to
David Duke himself, there was a hilarious riff on the difference between how
white and black men talk. That was worth the price of admission alone.

Now, for those who like your "racism-exposed-by-a-blackman" movie without
polit.ical statements well, I don't want to spoil it for you. What you will get is a evenly paced movie with a strong soundtrack, and good solid acting
by the entire cast - including an un-credited actor of stage, screen and television lending his witty charm to the fesitivities. But I especially
liked Adam Driver (yes, Kylo Ren took time out to visit the real make
believe world of Hollywood via Colorado Springs), and John David Washington.
Yes, he's Denzel's son, and he did a marvelous job portraying the titular
character, Ron Stallworth.

Enjoyed this movie immensely, and I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Oscars, here we come baby. Can you dig it?
