I haven't been interested in much cinema since Bill Murray's first zombier flick of this year. (I think The Dead Don't Die).

This was enjoyable to me. The final third was a bit formulaic; the soundtrack for the entire film was horrible, annoying, irritating; and the so-called action scenes were effectively video game caricature.
But I did find the first third of the film to be better than I expected. If you liked the first 2 (Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen), you'll likely enjoy this one, if you can overcome the pretend music and pretend action. I'll say it was not as good as London Has Fallen. The criminal mastermind was a little too easy to deduce, too transparent.

With such sparse fare at the Cinema this summer, I conjure this was my best bet at film entertainment.

Afterwards, I saw Hobbs & Shaw. It seemed amateurish at best. The plot seemed mailed in, as well as many of the performances.
I recently saw a talk show wth Vanessa Kirby promoting this film. She talked about how she never dreamed of doing any action film or work. Then they showed a clip from this film which was severely misrepresentative and forgettable unless you watched the film. She is really the star of this film, a breakout performance in a genre she has not previously embraced. She pulls off being the standout action star. I think there was at least one scene which seemed like River at Maidenhead. Other than her, and a brief segment with Eiza Gonzalez, the rest would put me to sleep if I watched again.
But because of the Kirby performance, I recommend you catch it when it's convenient.

I keep forgetting to mention that my biggest annoyance with Angel Has Fallen is Mrs. Fresh Prince, and her inability to act enough to convince me she can act. If she was the lead, I would not have bothered to watch. The rest of it was good enough for me to set aside her participation. But they really could have cast a more believable actress, there are plenty.
