Anybody ever watch this one?

I had vague memories of really enjoying it back in my drinking days, but I didn't remember a thing about it. After years of trying to get my brothers and my old man to watch it they finally are and they're loving it.

Really enjoying it on the second viewing. It's pretty cool how they can make such levity over something so final as an extinction event. Also cool is how it was originally created by a UK network, wasn't released in the US right away, but they finally decided to release it here 5 weeks after it was airing in the UK and hardly advertised it. Even though it played in the US, I hardly know anybody who ever heard about it, let alone watched it.

Not sure where you can officially stream it, but if you see it, I highly recommend giving it a watch. It was a single 10 episode season, and that's all it was ever supposed to be. So it won't be a chore to slog through.

Yeah, it was one of my favorite shows, and of course, it met w/ the Firefly like treatment. Very cleverly done, but alas, what a cliffhanger which we'll never get to revisit.

People of Earth, I believe, was a 2 season show which got the ax, and I was enjoying that as well.

Actually, I believe it's a bit trickier than that. From what I recall, just like Stranger Things on Netflix, YM&tA was only meant to be a single 10 episode season, and they didn't start talking about a second season until after it was finished and it started airing. 10 episodes is actually quite long compared to most other shows in the UK (think the first two seasons of Black Mirror that were only 3 episodes each). I think the fact that half of the show was done in the US and they were on the fence about releasing it here had something to do with the longer season.

However, after it was deemed popular enough to bring to the states after 4 or 5 weeks in the UK, they started talking about writing and producing a second season. At the time, I remember being thrilled, and then I remember being let down when those plans were cancelled.

But I don't think I was unhappy with the way it ended. There were a lot of loose ends, sure, but I felt that it was cool to make your own conclusions in your mind on that. Had they forced a second season because they wanted to chase money, they might have given it the Matrix Trilogy treatment and ruined that first season.

I dunno. I'm halfway through it the second time. I'll let you know if I still feel that way about it when I finish it.

Rob Lowe playing Rob Lowe as a priest is priceless.

I don't think I've ever heard of that one. Did they at least see it coming and give it a decent end? There's no way I'm ever going to go into another Sarah Connor Chronicles situation if I know ahead of time.

PoE was on TBS. Pretty sure they didn't know it wasn't getting renewed, and it ended with a season cliff hanger, not so much meant to be a series ender. Oh well.

iZombie was one I liked too, until it crossed over from the theoretical to the ' ok, now this is how we THINK things would work if all this were true '. Modern day story lines that could exist now, but with the public not having a clue. Kinda like Buffy and Angel, I guess, until the apocalypse stuff actually takes place.

I liked iZombie. Watched the first few seasons, but somewhere around that point I pretty much lost interest in watching any TV shows and I stopped watching it. Did it get cancelled before it had a decent ending?

No idea. I did pretty much the exact same thing, stop watching TV altogether except for a few shows on prime. I did note they had the series finale, because I saw tweets on it as I followed their account. It’s pretty much all I know though.

Hell, for all I know the entire series might’ve been Liv’s dream.

Liv Moore. Probably one of the better character names for a show.

You're probably better off for it and getting a lot more done, am I right?

At one point I had been binge watching so much Netflix that these "secret" videos would come on in between episodes that insulted you and tried to guilt you into getting your ass off the couch. I wonder how many people have actually seen them.

lol... I found one of them on Youtube so you can see what I'm talking about.

This one wasn't hugely insulting to the viewer, but they had some that would lay the shame on pretty thick.

Haha.. no, never had Netflix scold me for binging too much, but it wasn't for my lack of trying.

Maybe because the shows I watched didn't have very long seasons ? Been a bit since I plowed through a whole series though.

I still remember getting Buffy / Angel DVDs in the mail ! God, that's 15 years ago, easy. I think the limit was 3 at a time, and then maybe I cut down to 2 at a time, to save $ ? LOL.. Screw you, Netflix. Lost one long time customer.

Beats me who she is. Must not have been binge watching whatever she was in.

That was one of the more insulting ones out there. I laughed.

Bet Netflix would get in trouble for fat shaming if they still showed that one today.

First of all, I don't think I've ever dipped my pizza in salad dressing. Ever. On rare occasions, ' maybe ' the garlic butter or marinara sauces that come with it, but hell...

And what's she talking about ? Ingredients that come from under the couch cushion ? Who the hell does Netflix think their customers are... homeless bums living in tents or cardboard shacks on the sidewalks of LA or San Fran ? Who has ever ordered a pizza but thought.. ' Gee, the grilled chicken and fresh basil are nice but if only I had some random petrified French fries or cheez-itz to sprinkle on top of my oven hot pizza... "

Man, talk about elitists sons of bitches they are at Netflix!

Meh... I thought it was pretty funny. Don't know if it actually worked on anybody or not.

Here's one I don't remember seeing before. I don't know who this guy is either, but I don't find this one amusing and he comes off like a real dick.
