Black Christmas remake.

Quote:

Hawthorne College is quieting down for the holidays. But as Riley Stone and her Mu Kappa Epsilon sisters—athlete Marty, rebel Kris, and foodie Jesse—prepare to deck the halls with a series of seasonal parties, a black-masked stalker begins killing sorority women one by one. As the body count rises, Riley and her squad start to question whether they can trust any man, including Marty’s beta-male boyfriend, Nate, Riley’s new crush Landon or even esteemed classics instructor Professor Gelson. Whoever the killer is, he's about to discover that this generation’s young women aren't about to be anybody’s victims.

Grossed $4,420,000 this weekend in 2,265 theaters over three days.

Even Rotten Tomatoes can't bring itself to give it a fresh rating. Critics gave it a 44 while audiences gave it a 26.

But of course, there are people who really, REALLY loved it.

Some of the best reviews...

Pink haired weirdo Kimber Myers

Fans of the original ... might not love writer-director Sophia Takal's take, but Black Christmas is a fun film that gets its kicks out of literally smashing the patriarchy.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Beta male David Fear
Rolling Stone

It's angry - righteously, deservedly, properly enraged about what one gender in particular has had to put up with for way too long.

Preach on, super-cuck! That beard ain't foolin' nobody.

Gender neutral named Rendy Jones
Rendy Reviews

Quote:

Doesn't fall into the standard norms of slashers as Takal takes a classic and introduces it to the #MeToo era.

Seriously, Carlton... WTF is a Rendy? Fix your name.

The Blogging Banshee

Quote:

Black Christmas is a film made by women, for women, that is sure to bring in hoards of new young female horror fans.

Looking at the box office numbers, one would have to assume that the "hoards" of pink haired, millennial weirdos stayed home and are waiting to watch it in the comfort of their own apartments on Netflix so they can use their beta males as ottomans and/or a place to put the bowl of popcorn.

Still believes there is a Gender Wage Gap in 2019 Ryan Syrek
The Reader

Quote:

A horror movie that leverages the inherent terror of the college rape crisis seems both warranted and potentially catastrophically irresponsible. Black Christmas straddles that line like Frosty doing the splits.

Put this guy on the list of creepy male feminists who are projecting their own dark thoughts on to all men and probably shouldn't be alone in a room with another woman. His Twitter history is probably super interesting.

---

Man hating harpy Shannon McGrew
Nightmarish Conjurings

Quote:

Black Christmas is an unapologetic horror slasher that takes on the dangers of male toxicity while showcasing the strength and determination that so many women possess.

Still blissfully ignorant of your own toxicity, hypocrisy and projection in 2019, as well as the fact that you are nothing more than just another brick in the wall for Trump's REEEEEEEEEEE-election in 2020.

Maybe we should make a new thing here. Call it Reviewer Reviews or something.

I feel like I need to take a shower after reading their opinions.

Sums you up pretty well.

They sit around bitching, YOU sit around bitching.

You're just another fucking hypocrite, and blissfully ignorant of EVERYTHING.

Yanno, Nilbog, I did resist the temptation to put you in there by saying something along the lines of you and Shannon McGrew from Nightmarish Conjurings being besties that enjoyed spending their free time playing pranks on their beta-male cucked husbands by swapping their balls in your purses and seeing if they ever noticed, but I restrained myself.

I also refrained from making a comment about taking bets on if you were going to be the first one to reply to this too.

Oh, he definitely knew where his balls were last night. Twice.

You keep bringing up his balls and every time it makes me realize how lucky I am to have a man that likes it when I make decisions. He has so much more free time and less stress, and things here run more smoothly than he could manage. Not following gender roles in this house just works. He would be miserable just like you are... if he listened to idiots like you.

Who's miserable?

Your post history seriously belies the portrait you're trying to paint here.

This flick has been made several hundred times. The reason it's a flop, who wants to see a slasher flick during the Christmas holidays

And FYI, best Christmas flick, "Die Hard"

That or Christmas Vacation. At least Die Hard wasn't ruined by the terrible sequels (Post "With a Vengeance") like the Matrix was.

I might have to check this one out though and come back to you...

I have a feeling that I'll love it.

Wishy probably will too, but it will be for a very different reason, I assure you.
