Oh. By the way, I made this prediction before Biden* was even sworn in. Somebody can update that in the predictions thread.

Oh boy...

You're going to get an earful on that voter ID take from Kiki if she sees this.

Ask any black person you see out and about and they're for it. It's only rich white people who don't ever talk to black people who think it's racist.

Like I've always said though, it should ALWAYS be easy to get voter ID and FREE.

That's fine if we continue paying for driver's licenses that double as voter ID. That means that everyone who drives LEGALLY is already taken care of.

But for everyone who can't drive because of age or disability, they should be able to get a free State ID for voting.

But the big takeaway from yesterday is that the Filibuster did not get thrashed, despite the Democrat party and Legacy Media's best efforts. At least half of those Democrats (rightfully) have voted AGAINST removing the Filibuster in the past (but for the wrong reasons, apparently).

For clarity's sake, I'm specifically talking about the Filibuster here. The Vote Hijacking Act is just one of many, many things that Democrats would have tried shoving through Congress over the next year had they been successful.

I think you have some strange ideas ideas about KIKI, SIX. She's not a karen, and she's not your typical liberal. There are bad feelings between the two of you and you're being blinded by your emotions, as usual.

*****

But, OK, I thought the two issues (the fillibuster and the Vote Steal Act) were tied together, and that you were referring to the Vote Steal Act, since Biden* has been making such a Big Deal about it.

The funny thing is, the DEMS just used the fillibuster to block the Repub's Russia sanctions bill. So, ironically, the DEMS used a procedure that they're against (fillibuster) to block a bill that they say they would be for (sanctions against Russia).

Want to talk about a political party that has lost the plot?

*****

EDITED TO ADD (ETA) And, yes, voter ID should be free and accessible to everyone who wants one. I know that the Dems brought up some rare circumstances where voter ID would be difficult to get ("what about this 108-year-old woman who was born at home and whos birth wasn't registered so no birth certificate?") but I'm sure there are ways to confirm citizenship and ID for those rare circumstances... bible records, family attestation etc.

Dems seems to by saying that blacks are too stupid and too disorganized to get voter ID. But if you make it a requirement at least a couple of years before the next election, everyone should have enough time to get their shit together.

Also, not sure about other states, but ours has a thumbprint on it. Want to make maail-in voting legit? Require a thumprint, bc people are recorded under different versions of the same name (John Public, John Q Public. John Quincy Public) and signature matching is for shit, but thumbprints are unique.)

Kiki and I have had arguments over this specific issue in the past. She's against voter ID and will tell you that it's because black people can't get to the DMV.

Quote:

Yeah... no.

Biden* and the Legacy Media are using their lies about the Vote Steal Act as a way to try to garner support from lemmings through the Legacy Media to kill the Filibuster and try to shame anyone with their lies who didn't go along with it (particularly aimed at Manchin and Senima, while also lying and claiming that the entire Republican party is racist against black people and that Democrats are the only ones who can stop it by destroying the Senate, while also having the additional intention of hiding the fact that most of these Senators have votes on record to protect the Filibuster in the past). My concern over the Vote Steal act was a mere fraction of my concern over the Filibuster being killed because of the damage that could be done afterward.

As an example, the very first thing that Democrats would do is try to pass 50 votes on legislation mandating everyone be vaccinated through the Congressional Process which seeing as how the SC decision went down would almost surely not be shot down by the SC if it went in front of them after that fact.

The only hope against a direct government mandate on vaccination without the Filibuster would be Manchin and Sinema at that point.

In any case, if the Dems are so concerned about it, they should have an outreach program, where they send a letter to everyone THAT THEY SENT A BALLOT TO telling them of the new requirement and offering to help with rides, and getting official copies of that all-important birth certificate (THAT takes $, which the DNC can pay for. But once you have a copy it is useful for all kinds of things!). At least the DNC can use its money to promote actual democracy and honest voting, instead of scamming the American public.

It may be claimed that I'm oversimplifying a 3 or 4 day argument to only one sentence, but that was my takaway from it. In any event, unless she's changed her mind from a few years ago, Kiki is against Voter ID requirements.

CNN Scrambles To Explain Away Joe Biden Saying 2022 Midterms Could Be "Illegitimate"

CNN hosts scrambled to explain away Joe Biden’s remark during his car crash of a press conference when he said that the 2022 mid-term elections could be “illegitimate.”

Former President Donald Trump was vehemently monstered by the media both in 2016 and 2020 for suggesting the election outcome could be compromised.

Following the riot on January 6 last year, Trump’s so-called undermining of the election process was blamed for the raid on the Capitol itself.

Tens of millions of Trump supporters who believe the 2020 election was rigged have also been denounced as everything from dangerous radicals to domestic terrorists.

So when Joe Biden questioned the legitimacy of the upcoming election during a live press conference, the media was placed in an invidious position.

Biden was asked by a reporter if the election could be considered legitimate if he was unable to pass his voting reforms.

“It all depends on whether or not we’re able to make the case to the American people that some of this is being set up to try to alter the outcome of the election,” Biden responded.
’m not saying it’s going to be legit,” Biden added, before noting, “The increase in the prospect of being illegitimate is in direct proportion to us not being able to get these reforms passed.”

Both Maryland Senator Ben Cardin and West Virginia’s Joe Manchin quickly expressed concern at Biden’s rhetoric.

CNN hosts also scrambled to explain away Biden’s clumsy response.

“Well, particularly the first part, Anderson, what he said was–actually, the entire thing, but particularly the first part was, probably the most jarring to hear a president of the United States who is not Donald Trump even suggest, ahead of time, that an election isn’t legitimate,” said Dana Bash.

She continued, “Having said that, the important thing to keep in mind is what he was trying to say, and that is in places like Arizona and places like Georgia, especially, that will determine, votes will determine not only the governor’s race, but this balance of power in the Senate, you have another Senate race there. The laws that were put in place in Georgia were such that the legislature — the Republican-led legislature has the ability to take the power away from the secretary of state to determine an election.”

“That is what he was trying to say, but it’s not exactly how he said it, which is why it was so jarring. The people who know what he was trying to say

I guess Joe* can't be counted on to get things right and needs CNN to 'splain it for him
Quote:

get it. But still, with this kind of language, given where we are with the Republican party and how you have a former president trying to continue to sew doubt and claim that the election in 2020 was stolen, which is a total lie. That is an area where I know talking to Democrats they believe the president needs to be a lot more nuanced,” Bash added.

This serves as yet another reminder as to why Biden barely ever holds press conferences.

After she lost in 2016, Hillary Clinton also repeatedly questioned the legitimacy of the election, blaming Trump’s win on the baseless Russian collusion conspiracy theory.

“It’s OK when we do it!”

Yup.

There's a whole lot of them on that thread. As you can see from the timestamps yesterday, I didn't put too much time into it. I was able to do a direct search on fff.net to find the exact thread I was referencing to Sigs before Kiki popped in and find those two quotes and have them posted here in 6 minutes flat.

In light of being in direct opposition with Sigs direct statement "I mean, who the fuck could possibly be against voter ID?", the entire thread is an entertaining read today.

I forgot it was that long ago. There's even a post where I said something and you asked if I was high again and I said it'd been a few years since I stopped smoking weed and I'd been sober for around a month or two.

It's now been over 5 years without a drink for me now.

Glad that argument happened a month after my sobriety started and not a month before or I wouldn't have even remembered it happened.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

THANKS! for the Jack-link!

Because here are the parts I posted you didn't want to quote:
Quote:

I think to be a rock-solid process, ideally it should be based on either a birth certificate or valid naturalization papers. I don't know what the process is for getting a copy of your birth certificate for all states, but I do know it always involves a state fee.
See? I support a good voter ID process! especially making sure that the ID is valid.
Quote:

many states have made the process extremely onerous - you have to have notarized documents and show up in person
But as I pointed out, many states erected exclusionary hoops for people to jump through, to make it unnecessarily difficult.
Quote:

But as I posted elsewhere, the Dems are not about to go out of their way for their constituency.
I even pointed out that democrats were not the answer to the problem. So I wasn't being partisan in my criticisms.
Quote:

http://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/voter-id.aspx
Wisconsin seems to have gone out of its way to disenfranchise voters, as did Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, (at least) :
IDs that are NOT VALID for voting in Wisconsin include:
Non-Wisconsin driver’s licenses
Student ID from an accredited WI university, college, or technical college that does NOT contain the student’s name, signature, picture, date the card was issued and expiration date (maximum two years) plus SEPARATE proof of enrollment.
Groups impacted by the voter ID law are those who may not have a current WI driver’s license: students, older adults, people with disabilities or low income, and voters of color. Women’s right to vote is also at risk because 90% change their names upon marriage. Wisconsin requires that the name on your photo ID “conform to the voter’s name on the poll list,” although “an exact match is not necessary.” Consequently, whether a woman - or any other - voter receives a regular ballot is subject to poll workers’ interpretation.
Alaska link doesn't work, Montana and Arkansas don't explicitly state acceptable identification ...

And I pointed out the very SPECIFIC things I had objections to - not btw with the CONCEPT of voter ID, but with its implementation.
Quote:

Registration seems to me to be the weak link in voting, far more than the wrong person voting.
And I posted what I thought was the bigger problem, which was registration.

Quote:

As I've posted more than once, I'm in favor of voter id ...
With the already posted caveat
Quote:

I think to be a rock-solid process, ideally it should be based on either a birth certificate or valid naturalization papers.

CLEARLY I supported voter ID and wanted it to be meaningful, and rock solid. And my objections were to very SPECIFIC things - and not to voter ID itself - but to how it was being administered.

So you posting extremely small snippets that LIE about what I REALLY posted?

Anyway, that was back in 2017. Since then time has moved on. For example, many states have changed their birth-certificate process, so that you can apply in person, on-line, or by regular mail, with a simple form (notarized requests and/or registered mail, which you have to do in person at the post-office, are often no longer required). And clearly COVID-19 has changed a lot of procedures even further. At this point voter ID isn't an issue, if people are no longer voting in person.

Truth will out, SIX, and it's not on your side.

And thanks to 6ix for reminding us that Kiki was against Voter ID in 2017, back when it mattered and before Libtards found the workaround Fraud of illegal "Dropboxes" and ballot harvested mail-ins (without the IDs that Kiki hates).

That's exactly what you're doing right now.

Kiki was against voter ID in 2017, even saying that there was no reason for it.

I'm glad she's changed her mind now, but it's only because we have widespread unsolicited mail-in fraud ballots being sent out that she's okay with it.

No, see I read the ENTIRE THREAD instead of picking out parts, and KIKI CLEARLY starts out by saying ...and implicitly agreeing with voter ID... "I think it should be a rock solid process".

You're doing what DEMS do when they try to nail Trump with "incitement", skipping over the important but single phrase where Trump tells the protestors to "peacefully and patriotically" march. Only three words in a one+hour speech, but they change the entire meaning.

Saying you agree with something, and then listing 200 reasons you don't agree with it is not agreeing with it.

Neither is claiming that there's no reason for it in the first place.

You're wrong.

You really need to dump Kiki. Friends like her get people in trouble.

BTW, I have having a REASONED DISCUSSION.

You might not recognize what that is, but I was discussing the various details of the entire topic of voter ID - from concept (I didn't think voter ID was the biggest problem, but didn't disagree with the idea) to implementation.

And it was the implementation I found the most problem with, back in 2017. Back in 2017 there were a number of requirements that were extremely onerous - three of them specifically were: needing to get your birth certificate request notarized, having to send it by certified mail, and having to make your request in person. Obviously they were put in place to exclude people who couldn't manage those steps with the time, transportation, or money available.

But I definitely supported and still support the idea of a rock-solid state ID - NOT a driver's license, as practiced - based on either a birth certificate or naturalization papers, as I already stated. And I think a solid state ID should be transferable from state to state, as long as they all meet agreed-on minimum requirements.

I'm not a threat to Signy. I have absolutely no intention of doing anything bad to Signy.

Are you personally a threat to Signy? Or are you still dealing with SECOND when you think it'll suit you?

So ... since YOU don't make threats - or give warnings - I guess I can expect you to do whatever you do by ambush. Good to know. I hope Signy is prepared, too. Because god forbid a female question your omniscience. Who know what you'll do when that happens.

Fortunately for me, I'm nothing like what you describe, and my life is nothing like what you describe. But you're definitely taking SECOND's act from him! by throwing pointless insults around.

Anyway, your words are, honestly, amusing at worst.

Have a nice hate-filled life!

Oh, also, you don't deny working with SECOND, and the only thing you deny is an intention to personally come over and do physical violence, which - knowing how you think - is informative.

SIX, HOW could someone like KIKI get me "in trouble"?

KIKI is expressing an opinion, was having a detailed discussion about not only the IDEA of voter ID but also how it was being practiced by various states, some of which seemed obstructive... Something we're all allowed to do online, right? There was nothing inflammatory or even particularly novel about her observations or opinions, it YOU with YOUR obsessions and anger that's causing the problem.

In fact, between the two of you, if anyone would cause me "trouble" it would be you. So stop throwing hissy fits over nothing. Because apparently you can't even take agreement when it's offered!

That's a dishonest answer. Online discussions aren't "associations". And how can an online discussion get anyone "in trouble" unless someone decides to MAKE trouble?

Are you planning on making trouble?
Do you know someone who is?

I'm beginning to wonder about you, too.

Whether you meant it or not, your statement was an implied threat. And you didn't exactly take it back, you doubled down on it.

Please check your hostility at the door. KIKI AGREED WITH YOU and you would see that if you were thinking and reading clearly. I don't know what your problem is!

Basically he was pointing out that all of the last-minute changes to the voting procedures -like massive mail-in balloting, ballot- harvesting, and poor ballot ID verification were jammed thru by unelected (Dem) officials without agreement or consensus from the other party, give credence to the suspicions that the vote was manipulated, and casting SIGNIFICANT doubt on the Dem's current efforts to Federalize the vote process ... bc the DNC knows or suspects that it won't win the next election unless they manage to retain their changes to the voting process. I wish you could have heard the whole thing

I'll put it this way...

If I had any intention of traveling to California to meet up with Kiki, she will be the first person to know I'm coming.

42 years of my life have gone by, and I've never once sat in a place that is 250 miles away from where I'm sitting.

Online dumbassery is not going to be the catalyst that finally gets me to leave a state that doesn't border Lake Michigan.

Is that clear enough for you?

And if Kiki really believes that I'm in league with Second, she's smoking crack.

She'd better check that paranoia. I hear that being locked down in isolation for two years can do that to you.

Outside of the garden, when do I not post intemperately?

The only bad side effect to quitting drinking is that I have very little patience for stupidity. Maybe that's also a side effect to getting old and not having time for it anymore too.

I still don't even see how anybody could be concerned that anything I posted in this thread was a threat. Especially considering CONTEXT and the fact that there are like 8 of us left here and we know each others posting habits very well by now. I even said that if I was coming I would let you know. I don't make threats. I say what I'm going to do.

I'm still curious why Kiki thinks I'm working with Second now. That's kind of hilarious. I think I'd have an easier time working with Nilbog if I were going to be scheming with other people behind the scenes.

And people should also know by now that I work alone unless there is no other possible way around it. I couldn't possibly tell you what Kiki thinks Second would have to bring to the table other than frustration.
