I really enjoyed this movie.

I kept thinking "popcorn movie" the whole time, and I was eating a big bag of popcorn.
Definitely a couples film.
I must have not been paying attention to the trailers, and I misunderstood the storyline of the film.

The Sound track was awesome - except for Taylor Swift. If there are comparisons to GotG, I can see why. I also enjoyed some sound effects borrowed from certain other TV Shows.
The cast was great. Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt were great, had chemistry. Sure, Ryan was the title character, but it seemed like Emily might have been the bigger lead. Theresa Palmer was practically unrecognizable - a bit of a shame. I had known that Lee Majors had a credit in this, but the references were always oblique, I didn't know if I would need to search the background faces. No worries - you can't hardly miss him, unless you don't know what he looks like.

It did have a lot more tongue-in-cheek humor than I expected.

The trailer did do a fair job of displaying what to expect, but I don't think it really conveyed how fun the soundtrack would be.
If there was a letdown, I was hoping the dog would have a more developed role.

Without The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, this would be the best film this year. The Beekeeper was good, but lacked the female component. Free Guy from a couples years ago was likely better, due to it's spectacle.

Coda.
The end credits did start off with a split screen - list on right, and left was actual Behind The Scenes film of the actual stunts in the film.
Then there is another scene - which really wraps up a lot of the parts of the film. In satisfying fashion.

I might see this again next weekend. But I need to seat farther back in the theater, to catch all that was happening on the screen. And on the left side, for better view of the scenes during end credits.

I do recommend this, for guys and gals alike. Emily really pushes the love story angle.

For opening weekend, the daily Box Office projections seems to be 1/3 to almost half of the entire BO total for the day. Even Star Wars Ep1 was rereleased to show on Star Wars Day (May The Fourth Be With You), and it did not garner half of what Fall Guy did for Saturday. It is really a shame that this is suffering from Bidenflation and Bidenomics getting ever worse.

Am I mistaken, or was it you who had mentioned at one point that it had something to do with Free Guy, like some sort of meta behind the scenes making of the movie Free Guy?

Yeah. My guess is this movie loses $100 Million for Universal because of the budget and Bidenflation.

I think we've only had 3 movies so far this year with budgets around or above $100 Million that have made any money in 2024.
