Not long ago someone posted startup and shutdown .wav files from the theme song. I was just curious if anyone knows what program was used to "capture" the theme. I was thinking of making my own start up and shut down .wav files. I really want the "Doom Song" from Invader Zim.
GIR: " I'm gonna sing the doom song now. Doom doom doom doom doomy doom doom."etc etc. I think I have a problem with my brain being missing.

The road to Hel is paved with good intentions

Well you could use Windows Sound Recorder which is found in the Accesories - Entertainment folder, but this only records segments up to a minute long
I usually use Goldwave to record sound clips - it's a free program (though you have to pay if you want the upgrade)
Just play the clip, and press record on the program (whichever one you choose to use), then save it as one of a variety of formats - including WAV - to download Goldwave go to http://www.goldwave.com/release.php#download

to set the paticular sound file for a window sound just go to the control panel, select the sounds, speech and audio devices and then Change the sound scheme - then you have a list of the various program events you can add sounds too - just highlight Windows Startup and browse for your sound file

Hope that helps

So where were those startup wavs posted? I could find them myself, but I don't want to. Me very lazy.

Well,
I managed to get it done with some other program I found, forget the name, just had to find the right input device. Now I have happy doom doom doom at startup and shutdown. I think I'm addicted to recording clips now. I'll probably make a whole Invader Zim theme and a Firefly theme. Not sure what happened to the other post that had the Firefly theme. I'm sure someone here has a link.

You have the Doom Song as your start up? No fair!

*Ears perk up* Invader Zim theme? Sounds uber-shiny.

Oh, but, uhh, so does the Firefly one...^_^ Have fun with making those.

This is a wav site I found with Firefly. Also, buffy and Angel.

I am not worried about the bullet with my name on it. Just the thousands marked "Occupant".

Hey,
If you're still looking for the Doom Song, I have an MP3 of it. It's 4.5MB though, so make sure your email can handle it. Happy to spread Zim love to fellow browncoats!
