Hi all,

Just a quick heads up. Not sure exactly when it's going to happen, but we're moving to another verse. Kinda. It's about 85-90% there with lots left to do, but I thought it was far along enough for you to take a looksee.

https://uat.fireflyfans.net

The postings are not current and ANYTHING POSTED THERE WILL GET WIPED after the cutover.

We'll do a proper shakedown after we move.

Best,
Haken

I'm out. Nice knowing y'all.

Hey Google, What is UAT and is it safe?

A "uat" subdomain is generally safe if it belongs to a company you trust, but you should treat it with caution.

"UAT" stands for User Acceptance Testing. Companies use these subdomains (like ) as a staging area to test new features or software updates before releasing them to the general public.

??? When it is safe

• Official testing: If you are an employee, client, or beta tester explicitly invited by the company to test their software.

• Legitimate domain structure: The "uat" must be a true subdomain of a trusted site (e.g., , not ).

?? Risks to watch out for

• Phishing scams: Scammers often look for abandoned or poorly secured UAT sites to host malicious pages. They might also create fake domains containing "uat" to look like a technical testing site.

• Data security bugs: Because these are testing environments, they may not have the same level of security or encryption as the live website. Never enter real financial details, primary passwords, or sensitive personal data on a UAT site unless explicitly instructed by your organization using dummy data.

• Broken features: The site might be unstable, slow, or contain software bugs, as that is the purpose of a testing environment.

That and Haken hasn't answered any question about this AI he's unleashing on everyone who hasn't posted here in 20 years too.

I've been fairly confident he's a glowie for at least the last decade anyhow, and "Haken" isn't even the guy who started this site.

FYI, more than a few have wanted to sign up. I think they're hopeful that the animated series might happen.
