Charisma Carpenter, our beloved Cordelia, is a 'seer' demon on Charmed tonight. . .and whoa, talk about typecasting!

I wouldn't watch Charmed if the entire cast of Firefly was guesting.

I'll watch it if there's absolutely nothing else on or if the wife forces me, because if nothing else. . .Holly Marie Combs is one of the finest bits of tasty I've ever seen.

Last night I was watching it b/c it was between episodes of "Law And Order"

eek I get subjected to this sometimes. Comes from having a twelve year in the house. Never mind - at least she likes Firefly. Thank the gods.

Fair play. Doesn't say a lot about the show though does it?

Actually. . .the FORMULA of the show appeals to me. I like the storyline, and the characters have the potential to be pretty compelling. . .but for some reason, it doesn't QUITE 'click' with me.

well I'll watch anything remotely sci-fi/ fantasy. I enjoyed the first season. then moved somewhere that didnt have a tv. My friend started watching it a couple of seasons ago when it went into syndication. Well the plots got kinda bla a lot of stuff doesn't wash with continuity. Plus a couple of the sis's are a couple of ho's. One of the reasons I hate watching tv with my friend is that he likes to nit-pic at them, now that he has tivo its really bad. Pausing to rant. when you can't pause the rants are a bit short or you miss something. As someone else mentioned Holly Marie Combs is all kinds of nummy. Its really gone downhill this year. But I still watch. D'ya think thats a comentary on me?

Could that be because the plots are hokey and the dialogue is woeful?

I think it's that the plots are not so much 'hokey' as they are very formulaic. You can see every plot device coming a mile away just because it's hard to be unique in this genre and still appeal to the masses.

The dialogue could definitely use some work. . .I mean, they're not high school kids anymore, so they can ease up on the "like, oh my god" stuff. They're trying to be dryly witty, similar to the "Firefly" dialogue, but it's not working the same way.
