Hello.

I've seen the miniseries of Sci-Fi's Battlestar Galactica on DVD. I enjoyed it and from what I've seen on the Net about the episodes of the new series, I think that I could really get into it. Can anyone give me a heads-up on when the first season will be available on DVD for purchase?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

You and me both, pal, are gonna wait until next year to get our mitts on season one.
But wait, SERENITY will be out before then- I suspect we'll be puttin' BG on the BACK burner right about then.

I've heard December this year mentioned a couple times. Britian, it's coming out in March.

so far i didnt even see any downloads of the us version (except for 33 on scifi.com). doesnt seem to be too important stuff, but they obviously got the extended scene featuring moaning boomer and her incredible glowing spine. kind of weird to think that the us gets longer sex scenes *lol*

DECEMBER?! Argh, that's painfully long. I was guessing that they'd at least have it out by autumn, seeing that the second season may be done then. But maybe they're thinking that they'll keep the American market gasping in suspense until the Christmas season.

Anyone know why there would be such a huge gap in the release dates for Britain and the US, with March for the UK and (hypothetically)December for the US? (I'm American, have a Region 1-only DVD player, and am cautious about the price for shipping and handling from things bought from Amazon.uk... though they do have a few items that the American market simply doesn't have.)

so there are no new scenes in the US airings but simply different cutting like always. and that might also be different on the DVDs.
thanks for the info. I will order the UK DVDs now and hope they didn't cut too much there.
so in about two more weeks I have a really good reason to watch BG a third time *grin*.

I heard that they are going to release the season 1 DVD set in June. Seeing that they are going to be showing the first 10 episodes of season 2 in July this make a lot more sense than releasing the DVD set in December. Also they will more than likely show season 1 on NBC over summer.
