J.T. Petty Digs The Burrowers
Source: Variety February 7, 2005

J.T. Petty is writing and directing The Burrowers for Lions Gate Films, says Variety. The horror film set in the Wild West is described as Alien meets The Searchers, the 1956 John Wayne Western.

"Burrowers" will be Petty's third feature as a writer/director, following Soft for Digging, a Sundance cult horror film, and Mimic: Sentinel for Dimension.

He's also the writer of Tom Clancy's video game "Splinter Cell" and co-wrote the Splinter Cell feature script that Peter Berg is directing for Paramount.

HELL'S KITTEN

I also heard about a local (Minnesota) independent film being shown called "Planetfall." It has been described as a sci-fi spaghetti western. Apparently, it's been in the works since 2000. I watched the trailers and it seems a whole lot more sci-fi and a whole lot less spaghetti western to me. But what do I know. Anyway, here's the link in case anyone's interested:

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Not much to go on so far. Couldn't find any more that what you posted here anywhere on the net Haken.

Hope it does not turn out lame like the Tremors movies.

SAKRYSTA

Sounds less "sci-fi" and more "horror" to me.

...still a little whimsical in the brain pan...
