Hey Guys

I suppose there are some of you guys here who are incredibly eager to see the big screen return of George A. Romero and his fourth flick in his DEAD series, LAND OF THE DEAD. Well, it's been revealed that the movie's release date has been bumped up from it's original Halloween release date and is now poised to hit theatres June 24th.

For me, this is a mixed blessing. On the one hand, we get to see the return of Romero sooner than expected, plus it's another high profile movie that SERENITY wont have to compete with (although there will be stiff competition with CORPSE BRIDE, SYRANIA, INTO THE BLUE, OLIVER TWIST, HISTORY OF VIOLENCE, IN HER SHOES, the WALLACE AND GROMIT movie, ELIZABETHTOWN and THE FOG). On the other hand, LAND OF THE DEAD will be sandwiched in between BATMAN BEGINS and WAR OF THE WORLDS as well as opening the same day as BEWITCHED. While he is a legend, I'm not sure if it'll survive agains that stiff of competition.

So what do you guys think of this news? Great news or omen of forecoming disaster?

"NO HAI ES BANDAI. THERE IS....NO.....BAND. AND YET....WE HEAR A BAND."

I believe Romero has a slightly different fanbase than Batman or War of the Worlds, a more cult and mature base. This will help his movie be a hit, I think. Word of mouth (and type of finger) will also help.
Example: I'm not a big horror movie fan, but Romero's stuff hits on a realistic level, so I'll be there. He's creepafying.
