6ixStringJack: Laughed when I saw the dude who came in 3rd place on the episode count and thought "who the hell is he? I don't remember him.". Yeah. He's probably pushing 30 now in the pictures on IMDB. He was a kid when the show started. |
6ixStringJack: Wow. Looks like 2 of the three main female leads must have bailed out for the last season. Carlyle and the Evil Queen were the only ones with 156 episodes. Snow White, the mom and the kid only had 134-141 episodes. |
6ixStringJack: I remembered that Carlyle was a much bigger part of the show than a Big Bad of the week or even just a 1 season arc bad, but cool hearing the he had a job that long. I'll bet by Season 4 or 5 he and the other 3 or 4 main leads were making bank to come back. |

6ixStringJack: Looked a bit into it earlier today and I do believe that Carlyle was in every single episode of the show, and that was a 7 year run. I rememember it seemed to have a never-ending cast list and they were always having different characters in little one-offs here or there, and maybe bringing them back in on occasion. |
Brenda: Being based around fairy tales, I would imagine there are some other UK actors. But I'm just guess of course. Outside of you telling me about Carlyle, don't think I know exactly of any. |
Brenda: I'll never know until I give Trainspotting a try. Like I said all I know about the movie is what I heard about it when it came out. |
6ixStringJack: Grow up, Theodore. |

6ixStringJack: And come to think of it, there may be some more British actors in Once Upon a Time. I seem to remember a really cute young woman from the UK soaps was in there for a while, so it wasn't just Carlyle. But I don't think there were any actual UK accents going on unless one of the characters called for it. |
6ixStringJack: I know you like the British stuff, so maybe you would like all of it. I can't objectively say that Trainspotting was a bad movie since I remember almost nothing about it. Never messed with any hard drugs myself and lost a few people I called friend to them. Depression movies are rarely my bag. |
Brenda: Yeah, I know to that Once Upon a Times was pretty hot stuff when it first hit too. Think I would have better luck with myself. I didn't watch Trainspotting when it first came out because it sounded so depressing. And at that time depression wasn't dragging me down. So, I just vetoed it. |
Brenda: Yeah, I know Trainspotting was suppose to really something when it came out. |
6ixStringJack: I almost have the same warning about Once Upon a Time too, but I do think that there's at least a much higher chance of you enjoying at least the first few seasons of that than of Trainspotting. But I was a drunk when I was watching that show, so who knows? People seemed to really like it when it was current news, but that was probably around 10 years ago when it started so maybe it's already dated? Don't know. |
6ixStringJack: It's hard to judge by reviews. I'm sure it was pretty "cutting edge" for its time, but that was a long time ago. Lots of moral outrage over stuff like this that pushed the envelope, back when Bill Clinton was President and in between Bushes. It could be decent. I don't remember. I just wanted to be clear it doesn't get a recommendation from me. But I'm not saying it's not worth a watch either. |
Brenda: My library still has copies of Once Upon a Time but the website says that they are all out and there are a couple of holds on them. I usually start with the first season of something before deciding to watch the rest. Specially on DVD. |
Brenda: Okay, a header into a toilet to retrieve drugs. Well, you never know. Some British movies are quite good. Think back when this came out it got so so reviews. I could be wrong too. |
