Well, let's add a caveat here, cause I bagged myself a written warning for "improper operation of a motor vehicle" that way once.

You shouldn't do it from a moving motorcycle cause you have to take one hand off the controls to do so, and that's something of a no-no cause it's a safety hazard.

That's not HALF as funny as them ticketing me for "speeding" a week later, on a bike with a 49.8cc displacement utterly incapable of the speed their "radar" pinged back.

I usually just point my finger at 'em, gun-style. They don't tend to like that very much, either, but it's not obscene, and it's not assault. I've also been given a very dirty look by a cop once for "crushing his head" at a light. (Look up The Kids in The Hall "crush your head" bit for reference)

I started doing that to Squirmy (the one with three legs) in response to her "humans are crazy" stares...

And so she comes up to me and slams the top of her head into my palm, so I did gently squeeze her head, and now she considers this a mandatory gesture of affection.

She is a decidedly strange cat.
