INFRARED

Greetings! First post here. Just a'wonderin' if there were any flying folk here. I have 3 of my ratings so far in my pursuit of becoming a professional pilot. Needless to say, Wash is one of my role models.

Very cool! Best of luck to you.

Not a pilot, but I was aircrew in the Coast Guard for some years (and a corpsman). I kind of miss the air - especially helos. Wash is my favorite as well.

I used to be confused, now I'm just not sure.

I had one lesson and was solo hands on for everything except landing.

A friend of mine is an Australian Air Force fighter pilot(FA-18's). I envy him enormously, he was recently promoted to from squadron leader to wing commander. Not bad for 35 yrs old hey.

tigerpilot who posts here is a Pilot (guess what he flies )

You can often find him on the chat here if you want to talk about flying.

Well, it's that "nearly" that makes all the difference.

Always wanted to be a pilot, but I lack the 20/20 vision (and the physique, but I could probably fix that if I seriously thought I had a chance).

Plus, what I really want is to be a space pilot (I love studying orbital mechanics and astrophysics), but the most advanced spaceship I'd probably ever get a crack at is basically a glorified delivery truck that spends most of its time coasting downhill. . .

While I don't fly myself, I work at the National Air and Space Museum in DC where I get to teach bunches o' kids about how things fly (and how to make good paper airplanes ).
