Bring your mittens and a hipflask filled with something yummy with some kick to it. There will be marshmallows and such for s'mores, and howling, or possibly singing, around the fire... could even be a snowball fight. Lots of logs to sit on and plenty of blankies to wrap up in for storytelling. Stars shining, full moon, happy random folk in the firelight.

Shiny Trees! Yavanna made Shiny Trees!
Aztecs used the term firefly metaphorically, meaning a spark of knowledge in a world of ignorance or darkness.

WHOAH! WHOAH! WHOAH! WATCH OUT GUYS, COMIN' THROUGH!

*CosmicFugitive comes rushing through the undergrowth, chased by a pack of wolves. With average skill and agility, he clambers onto a large rock. He looks down at his pursuers who now cirle from below.*

Ha ha! You missed me! Thhhhrrrrrrp! Go on, get outta here ya filthy mutts!

*Cosmicfugitive cracks his whip on the ground, in an attempt to scare the animals away. Finally, after several fierce lashes, they retreat back into the woods.*

A ha! That's right! YEAH! Run away!

*CosmicFugitive breathes a sigh of relief, and climbs down from his safe vantage point to join the rest of the group.*

Whee! That was fun! Man! I thought I'd never make it here. Took a while to find you guys.. Kinda got lost there back at the river...

Glad to be here now though... What's everyone doing? Is everyone okay?

Hmmm, a pixelated wood. Much better than the real kind. Here you don't get stinging nettles or Mosquetos, or light pollution to block out the lovely stars.

So I'm glad we all survived V day. I got through it by having a chocolate fondu with a few of my girly frinds from work. It was yummy. Kaylee was right, mangos and strawberries are the way to go. Especially if they are dipped in scrummy chocolate.

Hangovers are not pretty though. I've just about shaken if off. Someone must have brought beer to our Random bonfire. Hair of the dog and all that.

Watch out! Beadle's About!
Watch out! Beadle's About!

What about:

The cutest boy
I ever saw
Was sippin' cider through a straw

The cutest boy I ever saw (I ever saw)
Was sippin' cider through a straw

I asked him if
He'd show me how
To sip that cider through a straw

I asked him if he'd show me how (he'd show me how)
To sip that cider through a straw

First cheek to cheek
Then jaw to jaw
We'd sip that cider through a straw

First cheek to cheek
Then jaw to jaw (then jaw to jaw)
We'd sip that cider through a straw

Now once or twice
That straw would slip
And we'd sip cider lip to lip

Now once or twice
That staw would slip (that straw would slip)
And we'd sit cider lip to lip

There's another verse I don't remember (it's been nearly 15 years since I was a girl scout camp counselor) but then the last verse goes

The moral of
This story is
Don't sip that cider lip to lip

The moral of
This story is (this story is)
Don't sip that cider lip to lip (sip coke!)

THAT's the missing verse!

Never heard the end that way, though.

I also know one, same tune that starts:

The littlest worm
I ever saw
Was stuck inside my soda straw

I know a bazillion campfire songs.

My ultimate favourite probably is:

Ravioli, I love ravioli
Ravioli it's so good to me!

Do I have it on my shoe?
(Yes you have it on your shoe!)
On my shoe?
(On your shoe!)
Oooooooooooooooooooh

Ravioli, I love ravioli
Ravioli, it's so good to me!

But I think the only reason I like it so much is that we used to get really silly with it:

Do I have it on my boot cut Tommy Hilfiger jeans?
Do I have it on my blue suede Vans?

That, and I really like ravioli.
