Did the hidey thread die?

I would like to ask everyone to be super extra duper nice to me today because I had to get blood drawn and I got all nauseous and nearly passed out. It was awful! And now my arm hurts and I feel all kinds of icky and woozy.

So, can it be Official Be Nice to Serenity Day?

How much did the vampires take? Go have a lie down and drink some juice or something. If anybody asks you to do something that doesn't involve being very lazy and replenishing fluids and carbs tell them Dave says you aren't allowed.

Cybersnark, I'm sure no one will object to July 19th official Be Nice to Serenity Day, so you could probably put the gun away.

*Mattie quickly gets up and rushes to take CMS some delicious Petit Ecoliers* They're butter cookies with the most divine swiss chocolate on the top. There's milk, dark or super dark. Which do you prefer?

Ugly Truck Day?

Are we supposed to support the ugly trucks or protest the gas guzzling, enviroment destroying, fume spewing, waaaay too much noise making eyesores?

and, I may have to self-medicated again.

Actually, today is Drink Your Own Weight in Water Day because my aunt tells me that the more hydrated I am, the less problems I'll have with IVs tomorrow. I tend to bruise easily. Delicate flesh and whatnot.

Ooh, but no bruising from the needle yesterday, yay. AND, I eventually got the tape off my arm. What worked: lotion.

We could read the story of, "The Ugly Truckling." How all of the other little trucks used to make fun of it and give it the truck equivalent of wedgies and didn't invite it to any truckling parties but then it grew up and turned into a... well it turned into an ugly truck. I'm not sure what the moral of the story is supposed to be. Maybe there isn't one.

Ok, let's go easy on the truck thing... You're hurtin' my trucks feelings.

I agree on the truck thing though. If one lives in the middle of the city in a high rise, what exactly do they need a full sized SUV for?

I live in the country. My truck has gotten me through the deep snow, fallen branches, into the fields etc. Ya whan I commuted to the city, I parked said truck and got an little Geo. Great on gas, let me tell you.

Plus my truck isn't one of the full-sized monsters.

Chocolate up, and definately drink lots of water and get hydrated. Yay, for no bruising of the delicate flesh.
I think they were talking about the ugly trucks like the old rusty pick ups that people use to get work done, not the ugly big @$$ SUVs that people use to pretend they are someone.

Of course not YOUR truck, Safe! I'm talking about the big, really old, rust and "well, I think it used to be blue, but I can't really remember" held together by heavy wire and duct tape, 3 kids and mutt hanging out of the back, no a/c or seatbelts, black fume spewing monstrosities I see on a regular basis out here. Granted, I do live in the boonies where there are lots of farmers and the like who need their trucks for whatever and I totally respect that.

What I can't respect is the people that drive those HUGE wide bed chevys or dodges that are so wide they take up the whole gorram lane and they can't park them for crap and they're so tall my little car gets lost amongst them and they're always spotless so they must spend all their spare time washing and waxing them and they love to put stupid sayings on the windows like "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" and "Raised in the South" (as if we couldn't tell by the confederate flag sticker on the bumper) who waste 7 miles to the gallon just to run to the grocery store to buy Bud.

Oh yes, and the soccer mom giant SUVs. Ooh, those burn me up.

OOhhh Those trucks. Yep I see plenty of them 'round these parts too.

I've got a lot of horror stories from when I used to work in a shop. No floor boards, wheels falling off when the truck was put up on the hoist, emergency brake cables being cut off because they dragged on the ground...etc.

And the SUV'v driven solely as status symbols, like Jade said, really bug me too.

Haha.
Yeah, I understand. Everyone here thinks that because they live in the mountains they need a very large, very noisy, very stupid truck to get them around--like there's constant snow, mud or dirt on the roads. Granted, I drive an SUV myself, but I'd trade it in in a heart beat for a nice little Saab or Audi--just something with a little getupandgo that gets better gas mileage than my golden wonder. Let's just convince everyone in America to switch to ethanol!
Anywho, ugly truck day. I don't think it's necessicarily a BAD thing to own a rust bucket held together with liquid nails truck. For sure there seems to be a setting in which that kind of vehicle is appropriate, and I think that it's something to be proud of. If you have an automobile that's seen the worst and beyond, that still runs and gets you from point A to point B, there's a certain ammount of allotted pride that comes from keeping something like that going.

Wacky fun!
