anyone ever wondered where the phrase 'raise hell' comes from? or is it just me gives that kinda thing a seconds thought? (come to that, where does seconds thought come from, and second thought, have they the same root or...this way madness lies...)

but, i'm guessing it's have some root in raising hell up to earth, creating hell on earth, summat like, anyone know one way or the other? (and am i just asking something everyone else in the 'verse knows the answer to?)

G'morning all you FORSAKEN people!

Well, it's Friday, which means that I won't be around after today till Monday, but that's OK. We're going camping as soon as I get home from work! Blueberry picking in Virginia is on the agenda for this weekend. We'll also be having a nice big camppyre... I mean campfire, which will remind me of you guys all weekend long.

Labor Day weekend (September 4th for those not in the USA) we will be camping at Deep Creek MD and doing one of my favorite activities - WATER SKIING!!! I'm probably going to end up teaching several first-timers how to do it, and that's always fun - watching them get dragged face first through the water at 60 MPH. hehehehe (Mine is an evil laugh!)

My yard is stupid because it needs to be raked after it is mowed. And if one of the parental units mows (which they always do) they want someone else to rake it (which is usually me) so now I'm all sweaty and tired. But not sleepy.

Deep Creek, MD is bear country, and Black Bears are fairly common, as well as wild turkeys, bobcats, and white-tailed deer. They even have you sign an acknowledgement of "safe" practices (don't keep food in your tent, don't leave food out, etc.) before you can camp there, but I don't think there's been a mauling in a long, long while. At least several weeks anyway.
