All the Spinal Tap talk is quite relevant here, since a lot of the heavy metal bands from that era wore (and some still wear) skin-tight denim, leather or spandex pants, so if there were no codpieces being worn (like the one in Aerosmith's "Love in an elevator" filmclip), you could tell how well hung the guys were.

Just Google Image search for anything relating to 70s/80s metal and you'll see what I mean.

(Thx to Desktop Hippie for the banner)
If you find yourself getting too worked up about stuff that isn't real (RP Threads etc), then go outside, breathe in some fresh air and try feeding the ducks. (Because ducks don't care about your politics, religion, skin colour, choice of music or even your haircut. They like everyone, provided you bring them food.)

Woah!!!! I see what you mean!!!

Thanks for that Nico... (she said pretending that she wasn't alive and watching those bands in the 70s and 80s and therefore had no idea of the whole skin tight pants being referred to here...)

I feel a little innocent here (I know! Me?) but isn't, um, anything going to give a bulge of some sort? Guess I don't spend much time going "That size bulge is this length, and this one is this length...." because, well...
Really, who can tell those things???

Good Morning PhoenixRose and Magdalena, (and whoever else is here...)

Manly Bulge - Sometimes, its hard not to notice, but for me that isn't what makes me size up a man. I'm looking at arms, waist and shoulders. A strong chin is nice, too.

I used to work in a bookstore where this guy would come in wearing bicycle shorts. It looked like he was smuggling salami across the border. Hard not to notice him! (And that's the way I think he liked it!)

Coffee time...

Morning all!

Still discussing sizes I see! I can honestly say I've never tried to guess what size a guy is. Mostly because, in my own personal experience, size hasn't mattered nearly as much as ... other stuff.

Chris - you really don't have any female friends? Not one? Is it because none of the women around you are the kind you'd normally be buddies with or more a general not-interested-in-having-pals-of-the-opposite-sex thing?

Which I guess leads to another ponder. Anyone else prefer hanging around with their own gender / the opposite gender?

Hey, PR-

I'm a member over at crafster.org, and was looking at the current Firefly craft swap that is going on. I saw a member named "risingphoenix" and her tag line is "I'm thinking we'll rise again."

I know a few fff.net people are also over there, but I said "Hey, PR is here, too.."

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=65852
(I hope you can see the profile w/o being a member.)

She's changed her pic; it used to be a phoenix.

I'm the opposite. I *love* it when a thread slips into it's own little world. I've never played RPG, so I have no idea how it compares. I think it's a leftover from the very first posting board I joined - a Buffy board - which had a lot of posts in that style. There were breakfast threads, party threads, hot tub threads, mud wrestling threads... and we went through a spanking thread phase too. I can't remember what sparked that one off.

With the exception of the ladies here, I've not really any serious female friends. I've got females work friends and we occasionally do stuff and of course my beloved sisters... I just don't really enjoy spending time with women. They don't like the things I like and we have little in common. Plus they squeal and dither and such and it bugs me!!! So yes I'd say I'm friends with guys, not girls( again not including the terrific ladies here who seem to have escaped all the things that make women lousy friends)

Male bulges- unless the guy is REALLY happy to see you, there's no point as it has no real relation to how big he is when he's happy to see you:)

Hey DTH don't forget the Skinny Dipping thread we had here a while back!

Oh and I made the Pub as a place where you could talk non serious like. Yeah it started off as a Forsaken Thread but I noticed that a few people were uncomfortable with the Forsaken stuff so it is now mine and Nico's. It is just a place to kick back and have a Virtual Drink and BS. No topics or adjendas. Sometimes I just want to goof off and this is the place for it. SO ALL ARE WELCOME! There are no pyres or anything else. Stop by take a read and see!

See all you who questioned why I took Forsaken off. There are people here who do not like the idea of the Forsaken.

As far as thrill seaking with an SO. I have a habbit of trying stuff because I am afraid of it. No SO necessary. I used to be afraid of deep water (mostly because I could not see the bottom) No I am an Avid Diver.

Morning, all!

Magda, I am always up! Um...for the sewing, I mean. Yeah...that's it.

The bulge. Hmm. I guess it's only fair, as we have been going on about bras for a few days. I'll see how far into this we're really going to get before I pipe in.

Mavourneen, I second the coffee time!

DTH, generally, I prefer the opposite gender to hang around with. Well, I should say a majority of the time. I do have a few close male friends, but there is seldom a time we get together that there is not at least one female present. Most of my friends are Drama people, so we are used to mixed groups. Not sure that really answered the question...
I am a natural flirt, so I prefer the company of females, as males will sometimes look at me oddly when I try to flirt with them (yeah, ok, that was a bad joke).

Apparently, I need more coffee...

I'm with you on the thread slippage. I don't think I could carry on the role-playing for a long time, but it's fun every now and then.

Oh my!! My Mei Mei has a twin?? Can the world be so blessed??

Good morning Mavourneen!! S'a good ponderable too... I have friends of both sexes - and there are things you discuss freely with your girlfriends and can sometimes include your male friends... and there are some things you can discuss freely with your male friends to get a male perspective on it! I have male friends who are really protective of me too - so if I ever felt threatened or had my heart broken - they're the friends I'd go to for hugs and support and even protection!

Hi DeskTopHippei I am so glad that you're feeling a little better sweetheart! now get out there and enjoy the weekend!!

EDIT: coz there were just so many of us posting at the same time!!

MsG!! Hi Li'l Sis!! I do enjoy the company of my female friends too as they have their own experiences of being a woman and we can share things that some guys simply 'don't get', and sometimes it is fun to be a bit giggly and girly - I go away with my friends sometimes and we drink too much eat too much junk food and 'vent' about life and come home feeling like a million dollars!

Laurelin it is so good to see you - and I am up for the book any time - we can make them little books with a brick to a page sort of thing and the Imponderables will all buy one! Then we can hit the motivational circuit and make millions bringing the 'brick-theory' to the masses... Oh - can we go on Oprah??

Good morning my Twin We love the pub the way it is I think - besides - I usually go there for a bit so that someone else has time to respond to something I post in here! Am I still not making sense?

Tristan!! Good morning qing ren! Glad you're up! ... for it! ... the sewing I mean!! Oy! I think my friendships with male and females alike is the result of having grown up in the thatre too... and my habit of flirting! I understand that aspect of it too... I also have friends in their teens and friends in their 80s gay/straight.. male/female.. single/married... it's a real leveller working in the theatre!

PHOENIXROSE

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Hehehe! Can't see the profile, mavs, but that's pretty shiny! I thought I was the only one really connected to the phoenix; I love finding others!
Hmmmm, I've had male friends, but not many of them have been close. Like most of my friends, I've drifted away from them. My closest friends are and have always been female; though I get that holding a grudge thing! I didn't even know my former best friend was, like, enraged at me for about a year before we stopped talking. And when I found out why, I was just like "WHAT?!"
Apparently, though, I give out really strong "I'm attracted to you and want to take you to bed" vibes to my friends; some can handle that, some can't. Men seem less able to handle it, because it either makes them feel like I'm trying to push them into bed (what a role-reversal!) or they develop an interest, which unfortunately forms its own kind of wedge most of the time. My friendship with women seem better able to survive that 'tension' and I'm not really sure why. Huh... You know, I hadn't really analyzed all that before. I'm not sure why I give out that vibe so strong, either. Maybe because anyone I can connect with enough to be friends with is attractive on some level. But usually that's not what I'm focused on, especially when I'm committed to someone! Strange...
There might also be a few guys who are put off by the "Warrior Woman" in me. Put off by it or turned on by it; so far it’s one or the other. Hmmmm, that goes back to the attracted vibe thing, doesn’t it? Though sometimes they think they like it and are then put off by it. Always fun.

*edit* Oh, and as to the role-playing thing, I think it can be fun. It's just a way of showing action online, and actions can be a wonderful way to express yourself.

OH! Yay - I'm on with MsG!!! Don't worry Li'l Sis - you and your bappin' hand are at the top of my list!... I'll keep you informed!

Mei Mei - that is really interesting... I think I might actually like the sexual tension that I have had with a few of my close male friends now that I come to think of it! Though I have never had it become a wedge - though once I had a close male friend who got married - we were still close - we talked every week on the phone if we didn't actually see one another - about 6 months after he got married he walked me to my car after dinner at his and his wife's place and suddenly kissed me quite tenderly on the lips and said "If I hadn't married J****, I would have married you by now!" That freaked me out and I really had little to do with him and his wonderful wife for a while - just made sure I was too busy - guess who's marriage didn't last, either?? I always thought we were clear though - there had never been any crossing of the line prior to that...

Now I'm in deep pondering mode...

And I'm saying name me because, dammit, I think I'm perfect. I will loudly and proudly proclaim that I am a 36B (or 34C if that theory holds true). Wouldn't want to be larger or smaller.

As for the bulge, unless it's HUGE, I'm not going to notice. Well, that's not quite true. At horse shows it's sometimes hard to miss a lack of bulge on a guy in breeches.

But like someone else said, other things draw my attention first. Chest, hands, forearms, etc.

Thanks for the wishes of luck guys. Need all I can get. Oddly, last night, I received a gift from a "tacky gift exchange" from another internet board I am on. Object is to find the tackiest thing you can,you can't spend more than $5, and postage should cost significantly more than the item. Oh, re-gifting gets high honors. Well, my tacky turned out to be this odd little figurine of a mouse in a patch of clover holding up a four leaf one. I'm taking that as a good sign. I think I'll put it in my bag for the test.

And now my mind has completely blanked. Eesh...that's not good.

Hi Magda! Could it be possible that we are on-line at the same time?

OMG, Tristan! It is a Charming Tails figurine. And there in lies the danger of the Tacky Gift Exchange. One man's tacky is another's adorable and cute. (there were three other figurines in the box...have any need for 'em? )

Oh, and MSG, earlier I was gonna say something about reduction. Seems like a smart idea. I can't imagine carrying around all that extra weight. I've got a friend who is large to start with, but when she's nursing, she's like the prow of a ship. She looks soooo uncomfortable. And forget about wearing cute clothes during that time. To get things big enough to fit over the girls means they are baggy and loos elsewhere. Blech. I don't envy you in the slightest. (Well, except for the cool sounding MrG. I do want one of those of my own one day. )

Oh, I forgot to say that the no make-up trick is actually a bonus...although not so much for a teacher, I suppose. I use the no make-up thing whenever I've taken a "mental health" day from work. "Um, yeah, boss lady...*cough, cough*...I really do feel positively ghastly. I look horrible, too? Yeah, I suppose that goes with the territory."

I hope to never need a reduction. I hear they're really never the same in terms of pliability once you do anything surgical to them. Sometimes you need to, for the health of your back, but I don't think I'll get to quite that point.

Well, this is my first year. I was a lurker on the board for years. I couldn't join because of firewalls at work. Finally made me way around those a few months back.

but some of the stuff has been pretty damn tacky. The hardest part is knowing how tacky you can go before you get offensive. Or is your tacky tacky enough? But it's fun. And it sort of matches with the gift exchange we do on another board (most of us are members of both) that does serious gifts.

I like asking about the appropriate boundries thing. Honestly, if we ain't gonna be together I don't need another female coming to me for emotional support and having someone for everything else. But I really don't like the idea of pushing her away because of it.
Guess I really hate to lose and it shows.

Okay from the Michigan point of view. When it comes to certain types of jealousy (the positive kind if there could be such a thing), there is no should or shouldn't. It just is. And if it "is", then is a signal you should listen to. You are telling yourself something.

*looks around for cinderblock and sees it circling between Maryland and Utah, occasionally swooping dangerously close to Nevada, but the damn Air Nation Guard keeps shooting it away*

You are telling yourself you want her for your own and nobody else can have her. There's nothing wrong in feeling that way. She might even think it's "cute" or somesuch, if she's noticed and I bet she has. (The bad kind of jealousy is the kind that invariably leads to control and domestic abuse; that ain't you.)

She's got her own signals that she either knows (likely) or is trying to figure out, too (putting you both in the same situation: something in common!) So here's the way to read her signal. If it happens again on Sunday, great, but if not you can still ask her, all innocently and not giving her the idea that you're trying to complicate things: "When you put your head on my shoulder and when we hold hands, well are you, that is, do you, well gorrammit, do you think of us as more than just friends? I mean, if not that's cool, it's just that lately it seems we've been a little more cuddly..." etc., etc. You'll have to put all into your own words here. I'm not Cyrano de Bergerac, but you get the idea.

Then pick up the brick and read it. It'll say, "Of course silly. Why didn't you say something sooner?"

Jonny- so wise...and yet so cute:)

I'd explain further about the ipex, but I pretty sure you're joking and I don't want to frighten CMH into hiding...so I'll just link and have done with it http://www2.victoriassecret.com/collection/?cgname=OSBRPFIGZZZ&cgnbr=O

Is that like the dream where you forget to put on your pants and go to work/school? It happens IRL? People around here don't forget things like that near often enough...

Eloisa- don't fret:) At least you've not flashed anyone as I have and hey it's ok I've forgotten important undergarments too HUGS I once forgot panties while wearing a skirt, but that was because it was cold and I'd put them to warm on the heater and then dashed out and forgotten and...I shall stop talking now, since between this and the whole CMH and his jammies thing I am truly creating the impression that I was released from captivity only seconds ago and have no real concept of appropriate ( which I do, it's just I have few, if any, boundaries)

Um, I'm just gonna let this one pass quietly by and wait for someone else to carry on. (Although I believe the appropriate thing to do, Miss Scarlet, is to drop your handkerchief, not your underthings...)

Yep, it was like one of those dreams, especially in that I noticed while halfway to the train station, in almost exactly the spot where I always realise my illusory problem in a bad dream. Except my *bad dreams* about that are always WAY more embarrassing, as in I tend to have apparently forgotten to put anything on below the waist, and this was just a little startling. (And, dear Lord, annoying. The girlies tend to ache when they've been cooped up in a bra all day, but my upper back hurts when they've been out playing around instead, and I find it a lot harder to breathe as they tend to weigh my chest down. I swear I can't win.)

BTW, amusing = listening to men talk about their cricket/fencing boxes, including several sizing issues and all the terrible things that happen when they aren't used (I once saw a guy catch himself in his zip fly... it was too painful just to pull off; he had to pour soap over it first), and a snippet from a male horse rider who was insistent that for a bloke to ride in boxers instead of briefs was to be unable to sit down for a week afterwards.

All my close friends have always been female. I always put it down as not "clicking" with men due to a mix of no better than average looks and occasional alpha-female attitude, but as I'm "only" 26 (and a half... today... I feel old), there have been issues of differing levels of maturity between men and women for most of the relevant time period. When you're trying to have a decent conversation and the men are alternately competing to down their beer the fastest and trying to set fire to their farts, you tend to clump with women.

*hugs MsG back* Double-posted to say that I have done that exact same thing too. In my defence, I was nine or ten. On the prosecution side, I was going to church at the time...

Oh, no. That's just a bad idea. The wedding tackle must be properly contained or you may not being doing too much fishing for awhile.

As for exposing myself. I alternate between it being no big deal and embarrassment. I will readily change with the curtains open if bra and panties will stay on (and the panties are of a full butted variety...and not a thong). I figure a bra and panties is equivalent to a bikini, so what's the big deal? However, my exception to that rule is at night or early morning. I don't like the idea of someone watching me and me not knowing it. That's creepy. Actually, I don't like the idea of someone "watching" at anytime, but if they just happen to be walking by and catch a glimpse, more power to them.

Let's see, I think I said before that I used to have more male friends than female...then they all got married and were no longer allowed to be my friends because I was single. I think if I had been married it wouldn't have been an issue. Now most of my friends are women, which may be why I don't mind being alone. We women certainly can be difficult to be friends with.

Why is this such a common dream for everyone? Seems to me the answer to your aches and pains might be to bind them in the morning and let them roam in the afternoon. The other way ‘round would work also but I think in your case it might be ill-advised. If allowed to be at ease in the morning, I think the chances would be greater that you forget your equipment more often, since you’d leave the house not expecting any support. On the other hand, trussing them up in the middle of the day might cause them to protest at the sudden squeeze, downward gravity being different than reclined gravity. But not having any (making me a shoe-in for one of CMH’s pals) I have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about. I just don’t like aches.

Should we even ask how it came about that you were in a position (or in position, or imposition) to see a guy get “caught”?

By adding “and a half” makes you younger than you think. I’m 46 (and three quarters if you must know the rest), and I generally feel “young”. I also feel “dementia” but I’ve been like that since childhood. The maturity issue is probably still relevant at your age, poor thing, although if guzzling and backfiring is all the boys you know do, I suggest perhaps a better quality tavern or dormatorium. Not saying that the company of women is unwelcome. I myself have always been comfortable around them conversationally if not romantically.

I completely agree. When I was somewhere between 16 and 19 I washed my car in shorts and a bra. I figured that the bra covered more than most bikini tops do, so I didn't see a problem. Of course when I went swimming in a public place in shorts and a bra it was because my friend was jumping in with only a Tshirt and panties...and I couldn't let her be more adventurous than me...or something. Errrrr....

MCQ

Gee all this talk about undergarments has me a little....uh....nevermind.

As for male/female friends, it seems I have more female friends than male. As for why this is, I'm not so sure. With the guys I used to hang out with there was too much talk regarding to competition - who could do this or that better, who had the most of this or that - and so on. It gets old after a while. With females I feel I can just be myself and they seem to appreciate it more. I don't feel like I have to put up some kind of image (tough guy, jock, etc).

The odd thing is, in person I even have trouble talking to women because I'm a bit shy/quiet in person but in regard to online, it seems I get along with more women than men. Of course, there have been exceptions.
