Floor Thirty-Three and a Third: Nicely In Between

Most RTS games are set on small areas and specific objectives, so I was thinking of something with the scale of Civilisation, where a map can encompass the entire world, and on a giant scale (so travelling from one end of the world to the other can take ten minutes in game time).

Quote:The problem with AI helpers is that even when they are very good they are still rather suboptimal as decision makers particularly where many different options are available to choosef from.

Quote:Here's the problem I'm seeing. Say you've got a city that needs wood and has I dunno feathers and there is another city that needs the feathers and has wood. OK they trade. Now say a bit later on a different city needs the wood more. Now if there are a small number of cities you can jiggle these resources fairly easy but as the number of cities increases the more you need to continually look at what resources each city needs and what resources they are producing to make sure you're trading things to the right places to make the most of your cities.
