Cool idea! I've actually considered starting a customised avatar showoff thread for a while now, but never got around to it.

I give the above signature (PR) nine out of ten. Beautifully done, but just a little too big for me! Personally I like signatures 100pix high maximum, so they fit nice and snug under your post. Mind you, I break this rule sometimes!

I give asortafairytales's the highest rating out of the ones I've seen so far.

Most of them are too big and distracting for my taste. It's hard to tell if you've actually commented at all, because there's so much extra stuff. I find myself just skipping other peoples' comments when their avatars and banners take up too much room.

But ASOFT's is nice, I like how the graphic moves, it's smaller and, plus, it's sweet! Gotta love the quote!

So kudos to ASOFT and to Desktop Hippie who designed it.

I obviously don't need rating, I don't have a fancy sig.

Yeah, the "someone to love" banner is one of my favourites. I would have used it myself, but I wanted one with my name. I'm chuffed to see it in use.

My very favourite banner is the "Fall in Love with Firefly" one. Purely because it came out of nowhere and was just *perfect* from the moment I finished it! That's the one with "This is Mal, he loves Inara / This is Simon, he loves Kaylee" etc. I still have no idea where I got that one from! Flash of inspiration. Need a couple more of those...

Anyway, shamelessly self plugging now - There are loads of banners in my blue sun room profile and my website. Feel free to grab 'em and use 'em. Just don't hotlink, cuz I have a very small site and you may well crash it! And you don't have to add my name to your signature or anything - just let people know I made the banner if they ask, and point them towards my site so they can get one too. I'm a hippie. Serif Draw Plus. My version is version 5, which I got free with a web design magazine. There are usually free versions available on their website www.serif.com - You get the hang of it once you've played with it a bit. You can't really edit images very much though. At least, I can't!

1 point deduction because the font-line is cut-off some at the top and is not well positioned as a whole: the font base-line touches/transgresses the bottom of the top-bar a bit; I would then just have lowered the text altogether (so that it looks done on purpose) and have avoided the cut-off at the top. Or reduced the font-size to fit.

The minor critique notwithstanding, this piece is clearly a gem, and artistically one of the best ones I've seen here.
