Yay! New thread! Thanks again deepgirl!

To nvghostrider from the last thread: holiday was pretty shiny for me. How was yours?

All Mixed Up ~ 311

This song has a lot of happy shiny memories attached. I'm smiling just thinking 'bout it.

Excellent topic title selection. I heard the single from their new album. I love the...funky type sound they're going with now. It strays a little from their s/t, but I think I'll like it.

In honor, I listened to "Slow Chemical", "Stay In Shadow", and "One Thing".

I don’t really understand this thread, but I’ve seen so many of them pass without any posts from me that I got curious to see what would have happen if I actually did post the song I’m listening to at this moment, which happens to be Smooth by Santana and some other dude.

Man, it’s a hot one.
Like seven inches from the midday sun.
I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone . . .

It’s poetry, I say.

Nihil est incertius vulgo, nihil obscurius voluntate hominum, nihil fallacius ratione tota comitiorum.

Nothing is more unpredictable than the mob, nothing more obscure than public opinion, nothing more deceptive than the whole political system.

Ah, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, that song brings back great memories. About a year ago I was part of my school's Steel Pan band along with all my friends and that was one of the songs we learned to play. I played bass steel pan (I guess I was always into bass instruments) and it was one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. I sometimes regret giving it up but my parents told me to chose between bass guitar and bass steel pan and well, as fun as it was the kind of music I ultimately wanted to play fit better with the bass guitar. I don't think I'll ever forget a thing I learned in those classes. In 20 years if somebody hands me 6 big bass pans, there's not a doubt in my mind I'd be able to play all the songs I learned, remember every note.

Adrenaline - Bush
Yeah, I'm in that Bush-y mood again.

"Ain't Too Proud To Beg" by The Rolling Stones

It's weird. That song, alongside "You Can't Always Get What You Want" will forever be associated with THE BIG CHILL. But now when I hear it, I think of when I saw the Stones in October here in my hometown and what a historic moment that was. And even though I was all the way up in the bleachers and had crappy seats, it actually was a really good show.

And on a sidenote, does it tick anyone else off that whenever they show a clip of THE BIG CHILL on tv or wherever, it's always of them dancing in the kitchen to that song? It just seems like that because of that, the movie is about a bunch of baby boomers dancing to Motown.
