Woman, you are completely off your nut.
Quote:Originally posted by EmmaRigby: I owe it all to the hypotherapy course I went on at London Zoo. I raised ÂŁ300 for charity doing a sponsored Hold Tarantula session from friends and family that had little faith in me (knowing my acute arachnophobia)! It helped that I knew I was going to have to get over it before going to live in the Amazon Rainforest. Spent 3 months there and the spiders were BIG! Found one on my pillow once that was about the same size as my head. Another time I went to the loo, found a Bird Eating Tarantula on the loo roll and had to wait 2 hours for him to move before I could leave! Ah fun times!
Quote:Originally posted by Kelkhil: Friend of mine at work was like that. Big ole tuff man working in a mech shop afraid of a little spider! He would scream in this high pitched wail every time he saw one. Man was it good fun when I stuffed his locker full of plastic spiders! *looks around at everyone* What? It was THE BEST joke I have ever pulled on anyone! I swear he was gonna stroke out right there on the spot. I laughed so hard I almost peed myself!

OMG, I couldn't do it, just couldn't! Just reading that gave me chills. Spiders are honestly the only things that really get me freaked.

If you've heard any of the horror stories from guys that have been over, let me assure you: they're all true. Yes, they can get up to 24 inches across. Yes, they chase you. Yes, they can jump. They are just the nastiest things on God's green Earth. It's a miracle I didn't lose my mind. The only thing that saved me was that I was more worried about getting shot or blown up than I was about spiders.

Quote:Originally posted by PhoenixRose: So where do we go to check out urban legends? Snopes!!! Yay Snopes! http://www.snopes.com/photos/bugs/camelspider.asp First, they are not technically spiders, though they're arachnids. Their legs can get to be 5-6 inches long, and their bodies look very long, which would give them a total span of probably two feet.
Quote:They are very scary looking.

I haven't been to Iraq and don't plan on going there, but that sounds like an urban legend. "The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter."

If you can get ahold of that chief of yours and ask him to measure the one he has (WHY?) you could send them those stats. I'm sure they don't want to have inaccurate info up there.
