Does anybody else watch this beautiful, intricate cartoon? I just watched the series finale and find myself emotionally exhausted with how it was handled. Brilliant ending to such a rare show (I know it's on Nickelodeon but it surpases the writing of what you see on most prime time programs), it was the only thing that's kept my attention for well over a year, and I'm still in shock it's over.

I know I can wait for the live action movie promised a few years down the road, but M. Night Shamalyan is directing, and that leads a bad taste in my mouth (Similar to the simpathy I feel for all the DBZ fans and their live action movie coming up). I just hope M. Night doesn't ruin this franchise, I could see Joss embracing it better than him.

So does anyone else watch? And what did you think of the series finale?

Likes to mess with stuffs.

I watch every now and then. Mostly because I like martial arts anime. Big fan of Naruto Shippuden, Bleach, Soul Reaper, etc.. Will likely watch the whole thing once I find time.

As for the movie, M. Night Shyamalan is totally wrong for the live action Airbender. As far as I know, he has no experience directing (or writing) this type of material. His track record with his own movies proves this. It makes absolutely no sense to me why Paramount/MTV was willing to give this possible movie franchise to him.

I would probably have gone with someone like Kevin Smith or Quentin Tarantino instead or even action directors like Corey Yuen, John Woo, or someone with more substance like Ang Lee.

Whatever the final product is, I hope it doesn't start looking like the current live action Dragonball movie.

I just finished watching the series finale, and I'm pleased to say it didn't disappoint. Excellent shout-outs to earlier episodes, glimpses and cameos of characters almost forgotten, and a most satisfying last shot.

I've been waiting for that particular kiss almost as long as I waited for the first kiss between Simon and Kaylee.

I'm not going to worry about the live action film. There's no way, even with three films, that it could present as detailed and believable a world as the three books of the animated series did. Here's to storytelling on the wide canvas!

Regardless of the fact I'm not a huge Aang/Katara shipper (Sokka/Suki makes my day, loved them in the last eps) the parting shot really was satisfying. Although out of the entire series finale, my favorite part hands down was the Azula/Zuko showdown. The animation, the voice work, the music was all so epic and perfectly done it could have easily been a scene from a major motion pic. Azula's plummet to maddness was a great turning point as well and mearly enhanced the tension of the showdown.
