Quote:Originally posted by seryn: Farscape! but theres four seasons of that. so if you don't want to be buying him farscape for the next two years (birthdays and christmas!) I wouldn't start. Likewise Stargate, theres hundreds of those. I'm told the new Battle Star Galactica is excellent, but i can't tell you myself because my family always talked loudly over it. It looked good. The New Dr Who's are fab, with both Eccleston and Tennant. Theres a brilliant show called Life on Mars - a cop gets knocked back into 1973 (flares, hair, dodgy policing methods) its dramatic and funny really well done, just finished watching it and its the next thing i'll be buying. Carnivale - fantasy but brilliant, epic in scale, brilliantly written, frustrating ending though! Really good show from a few years back, Ultraviloet - about vampires, but they never actually say as much, but really good. Most of these are British, are you in britain? you may not have heard of them other wise. Um, Wonderfalls is very good, but possibly not your dads thing, what other stuff does he like? Good luck anyway, you'll need it, i know what its like trying to buy for my dad. http://www.myspace.com/seryndippyt] Thanks so much for the suggestions. I'm going to go out shopping in the morning to look for some of these. We have a few Farscapes videotaped from when we used to have cable (those were the days), so I got to know first hand how great those are. I'll look into the others, I live in America but my dad watches a lot of british shows, but most of them are somewhat old (Red Dwarf, Fawlty Towers, Black Adder), he rents them on Netflix, and a few he's bought. I'm going to look for this stuff at Circuit City and FYE since I don't know any better place to look. I hope to find some of these. Thanks again!
