What's a movie that could have been easily fixed?

Hey all. Here's another movie thread for you to enjoy.

Have you ever watched a movie that was pretty good in some parts, but lame in others, and that while you kinda liked the flick in general, you wished you could go back to when the writer was writing it or when they were editing the movie together and give it an overhaul to make it a much better flick? If so, what was that movie, and what would you have changed (please don't say STAR WARS all at once)?

For me, one flick that could have been fixed easily was Cameron Crowe's latest, ELIZABETHTOWN. Now, I'm a Cameron Crowe fan. Loved ALMOST FAMOUS, think that the soundtracks to his movies are the best mix tapes you could ever want. And I really wanted to like ELIZABETHTOWN, but I think that it, more than VANILLA SKY (which I think is a kickass flick) is a seriously flawed movie that could very easily be fixed.

All you have to do is eliminate the Kirsten Dunst character. She is the major thing that derails what could have been an incredible movie. Not only is she herself a highly overrated actress, but her character is basically a stalker. Here this guy is dealing with two dual losses (his purpose in life and his dad's death) and is meeting a huge side of the family he's never met. The last thing he needs is some annoying blonde trying to validate her single existence. And who the hell can plan an incredibly detailed road trip with a 20 CD mix tape in less than a day? It's freaking impossible, and I should know.

If the movie got rid of her, and focused on the guy meeting these new relatives and figuring out his relationship with his father and his place in life and have the movie's climax be the band playing "Free Bird", then ELIZABETHTOWN would be on all the "Best of" lists instead of the "Worst of" lists.

"There's only one "Return" ok, and it ain't "of the King", it's "of the Jedi."

"Maybe we should start calling your friend 'Padme' because he loves 'Mannequin Skywalker' so much, Right? (imitating robot) Danger...danger...my name is Anakin...my shitty acting is ruining saga."

Excerpt of internet teaser for CLERKS 2.

DATALESS

Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes.

I think if at then end he had landed in a city that looks like it could be any city (not Washington DC) and he looks around to see human and then zoom out to cops running up to him say freeze looking down the barrel of the gun at an ape cop and then they look shocked and we see him looking around and a mixture of Apes and Humans all looking shocked and whispering to each other. He turns around and see a statue of him standing next to his ship.

Cabin Fever....

I can't believe I sat through that piece of . The end made it all worth it though. The last 3 minutes of that movie was a cinematic masterpiece. My change would be to crop those three minutes, scrap the rest and make it a SNL skit.

Pretty much all of the Scary Movie movies. I was watching the first one with my friend and we were laughing more at the ideas we were coming up with than the actual movie itself. All of them were like that. No imagination was used at all during those movies.

CYBERSNARK

Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest.

Just tone down the stuntwork and slapstick, tighten up the plot a bit, remember Jack, Will, and Elizabeth's characters, and it could've been great.

(No, I'm not doing a fan-rewrite. I'm having enough trouble getting the X-3 one finished. Maybe when the last one comes out.)

Robocop 3, just a little $ for a good CGI final fight would make it great.

Your move, creep Chrisisall
