And I just thought I'd mention - those annual deaths due to 'the' flu that the CDC publishes that you believe, are made up out of thin air.

Trump says he is fighting a war against Covid-19. How stupid is Trump's war strategy? We can find out by comparing Trump's country to Vietnam:

In Vietnam, There Have Been Fewer Than 300 COVID-19 Cases And No Deaths. Here's Why

April 16, 2020

Vietnam shares a border with China, yet it has reported no deaths from COVID-19 and just 268 confirmed cases, when other Southeast Asian nations are reporting thousands.

Experts say experience dealing with prior pandemics, early implementation of aggressive social distancing policies, strong action from political leaders and the muscle of a one-party authoritarian state have helped Vietnam.

"They had political commitment early on at the highest level," says John MacArthur, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's country representative in neighboring Thailand. "And that political commitment went from central level all the way down to the hamlet level."

With experience gained from dealing with the 2003 SARS and 2009 H1N1 bird flu pandemics, Vietnam's government started organizing its response in January — as soon as reports from Wuhan, where the virus is believed to have originated, began trickling in. The country quickly came up with a variety of tactics, including widespread quarantining and aggressive contact tracing. It has also won praise for its transparency in dealing with the crisis from the World Health Organization and the CDC.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc recently characterized Vietnam's efforts as the "spring general offensive of 2020," a reference to the 1968 Tet Offensive that many claim helped turn the tide of the Vietnam War.

Tens of thousands have been put in quarantine camps. By the end of March, Vietnam had banned all international and domestic flights. The government locked down the country on April 1. State-run media say the current social distancing and stay-at-home orders are to be extended for at least another week.

Those who break the rules in this one-party Communist state are treated harshly. One man was jailed on a nine-month sentence for failing to wear a mask.

Streets normally buzzing with motorcycles and cars are almost empty in most large cities. As the economic toll of the lockdown becomes apparent, some entrepreneurs are stepping up to help. One has provided "rice ATMs" to dispense free rice to those who are out of work.

Some may still be skeptical of Vietnam's relatively low COVID-19 case numbers. The CDC's MacArthur is not.

"Our team up in Hanoi is working very, very closely with their Ministry of Health counterparts," he says. "The communications I've had with my Vietnam team is that at this point in time [they] don't have any indication that those numbers are false."

Are you claiming that Trump is thin and doesn't have diarrhea of the mouth? This thing you and Signym have about evaluating Trump on what he does and not what he says: I can't prove Trump has done anything as President. It is his staff that does his work for him, what little is being accomplished as far as the pandemic. Must be nice for Trump getting paid for being boss yet never doing the parts he dislikes. But I can prove he never shuts his flapping mouth.

You SAY you care about Trump being incompetent.

And then you post about everything BUT what he does. For example, here you focus on Trump not being "thin" and having "diarrhea of the mouth".

I'll leave it for you to explain.

6ix, you might not know, but the Vietnamese are poorer than Americans and yet Vietnam shut down for Covid-19 because they care more about keeping the death toll low then they do about money while you have told us many times you care only about money and don't give a damn about who dies. You and Trump have got that in common which makes you two Ebenezer Scrooge before the Ghosts of Christmas scared him.

6ix, the GOP is a death cult. You've told us that everybody dies sooner or later and you regret you only have one life to give to Trump and the Economy. You told us about what the country does not shutdown for: traffic accidents, heart disease, cancer, and especially mass shootings. Those have a special, loving place in GOP hearts. To feel otherwise would make you a SJW, 6ix. Don't go there. Carry on as an out-of-work nutjob living in a shack you're proud of for purchasing so cheaply, 6ix, and eventually killing yourself with either tobacco, alcohol, firearms, obesity, Oxycontin, falling from the roof of your shack, etc. That is the Republican way -- a death cult. But before you die, vote for Trump. You'll be happy to know your vote was the one that gave Trump his victory since otherwise Indiana might have gone for Biden. On second thought, since you are sure Trump will win, maybe it makes no difference if you vote or not, work or not, live or die.

As for me, I have work to do tomorrow and people depending on me to be there.

Your Indiana governor can't make up his mind? He doesn't want to declare martial law to really shut down Indiana and he doesn't want to tell everyone go to work, so he choose Trump's chicken-heart way of avoiding responsibility. This pandemic is the best example yet that Donald Trump is the Wizard of Oz, and there’s nothing behind the curtain.

Trump’s name will, in a break with all previous practice, appear on the checks that will slightly mitigate the Donald Trump depression caused by the Donald Trump pandemic. Hey, we’re supposed to put his name on everything, right?

The operative word, however, is “slightly.” Those $1,200 checks, it turns out, are only a small fraction of the rescue package Congress passed a few weeks ago. And the CARES Act, in turn, fell far short of meeting the nation’s needs.

Given the scale of the economic carnage — 22 million jobs lost in four weeks — we need another huge relief program, both to limit financial hardship and to avoid economic damage that will persist even when the pandemic fades.

But we may not get the program we need, because anti-government ideologues, who briefly got quiet as the magnitude of the Covid-19 shock became apparent, are back to their usual tricks.

If there’s a silver lining to all this, it is that the people sabotaging our response to Covid-19 economics may also be sabotaging their own political future. Trump is, after all, counting on rapid economic recovery to erase public memories of his disastrous handling of the pandemic itself. Yet he and his allies in the Senate are making such a recovery much less likely.

The pressure on Trump for scapegoats is strong.

Trump, Aides Float ‘Chinese Lab’ Theory on Origins of Coronavirus

President Donald Trump and some of his officials are flirting with an outlier theory that the new coronavirus was set loose on the world by a Chinese lab that let it escape.

Trump failed to live up to his early promises to have ample testing, a key factor in containing disease. The U.S. still struggles to supply hospitals, front-line workers and patients with necessities in a climate of confusion spilling into chaos.

Do you realize you are following the well worn path of Communism hatred by the Republican Party? The 1964 Republican nominee for President, Barry Goldwater, promoted the idea of nuking Vietnam. He was that crazy and incompetent. One upping Goldwater for craziness, but a lot sneakier about his plans, Nixon showed what Goldwater would have done, but without the nukes. That didn't work out well for America, did it? Vietnam was America's biggest military fiasco, if you overlook the second Iraq War and the Afghanistan War, two wars motivated by GOP's irrational hatred and general stupidity at finishing complex tasks successfully.

The GOP is the party for Americans who have problems with controlling their anger and their impulses to destroy themselves with cigarettes, alcohol, obesity, money, lust, etc. Republicans are always getting themselves into trouble they can't understand how to get out of. Often it involves money and their job. Then they thrash around helplessly, futilely, and with no commonsense, trying to free themselves from their own bad decisions and mental problems.

6ix, you are as crazy as Goldwater, Nixon, Bush II, Trump and the typical Republicans voters I know. What a mess these people make out of their lives. So much pointless and daily drama.

IT'S POSITIVELY ALPINE!

The screenshots began to circulate on Delhi WhatsApp groups last week, captioned with varying expressions of disbelief. Having checked the air quality index, something of a sadistic morning ritual among residents of India’s capital, most could not believe their eyes.

Gone was the familiar menacing red banner, indicating how each intake of breath is really just a toxic blast on the lungs, replaced instead by a healthy, cheerful green. Could it really be that Delhi’s pollution levels now fell into the category of … “good”? “It’s positively alpine!” exclaimed one message.

A nationwide lockdown imposed across India on 24 March to stop the spread of the coronavirus – the largest lockdown of its kind attempted anywhere – has led to widespread chaos and suffering, especially among the country’s 300 million poor. Yet in Delhi, the world’s most polluted city, it has also resulted in some of the freshest air the capital has seen in decades.

It is a lockdown silver lining being repeated across the world, as toxic megacities such as Bangkok, Beijing, São Paulo and Bogotá, where varying coronavirus restrictions have been imposed, all reported an unprecedented decline in pollution. Yet it is countered with one cruel irony: with most residents of these cities strictly confined to their homes, few have any way to appreciate this newly fresh air, except through an open window or a during speedy trip to the supermarket.

In Delhi, air quality index (AQI) levels are usually a severe 200 on a good day (anything above 25 is deemed unsafe by World Health Organization). During peak pollution periods last year they soared well into a life-threatening 900 and sometimes off the measurable scale. But as Delhi’s 11m registered cars were taken off the roads and factories and construction were ground to a halt, AQI levels have regularly fallen below 20. The skies are suddenly a rare, piercing blue. Even the birdsong seems louder.

Dr Shashi Tharoor, a politician and author who has been vocal on environmental issues, said he hoped that it was a wake-up call. “The blissful sight of blue skies and the joy of breathing clean air provides just the contrast to illustrate what we are doing to ourselves the rest of the time,” said Tharoor. “Today the typical Delhi AQI hovers around 30 and one blissful afternoon, after a spurt of rain, it dropped to 7.”

“Seven,” Tharoor exclaimed again in disbelief. “In Delhi! Pure joy!”.

Tharoor’s sister Smita, who was visiting from the UK when the lockdown was imposed and found herself stuck in Delhi, was equally effusive. As someone with asthma, she said the city’s air, normally thick with pollution, was usually a health nightmare. But now: “The air is clear, the skies are blue. I see the evening stars with clarity and hear the chirruping of excited birds at this unexpected bonus they have received.”

While India’s powerful car lobby has long disputed that cars are a major cause of Delhi’s pollution, Sunita Narain, director of the Centre for Science and Environment, said the lockdown and resulting rapid drop in pollution showed once and for all just what a polluting role vehicles had in the city.

Narain also stressed that while she wished Delhi was like this “all the time”, adding: “I don’t want people to say ‘Oh, environmentalists are celebrating this lockdown:’ we are not. This is not the solution. But whatever the new normal is post-Covid-19, we have to make sure we take this breath of fresh air and think about the serious efforts we need to deal with pollution in Delhi.”

It is not just Delhi experiencing the clearest skies in years. As pollution dropped to its lowest level in three decades this week this week, residents of Jalandhar in Punjab woke up to an incredible sight in the distance: the Dhauladhar mountain range in Himachal Pradesh. The peaks, which are over 120 miles away, had not been sighted on the Punjab horizon for almost 30 years.

It is the absence of cars on some of the world’s most congested roads that seems to be making the most crucial differences. Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, which only last month had closed schools because the pollution got so bad, has experienced a similar transformation in the air since partial lockdown, mainly due to the fall in road traffic. “We can see quite a big gap between the air quality standard that we have [compared with this time last year],” says Tara Buakamsri, Thailand director for Greenpeace.

But residents of Bangkok lamented how the places to enjoy the fresh air were swiftly disappearing. Playgrounds, sporting grounds and even parks, a rare source of solace in the bustling, intensely urban environs of Bangkok, have all now been shut. “I feel sad for the old people who use the park to hang out and meet friends. I think they will be so sad at home,” said Nantawan Wangudomsuk, 31, a producer who used to run in the parks.

Across South America’s most populous city of São Paulo, ground zero of Brazil’s brewing coronavirus crisis, notorious traffic queues and smoggy horizons are also giving way to calm streets and clearer skies.

During weekday rush-hour, downtown São Paulo’s João Goulart elevated highway – nicknamed Minhocão, the Big Worm – normally heaves with traffic as thousands of cars cram four narrow lanes and beeping motorbikes weave through daringly small spaces. But with the city’s coronavirus lockdown, Minhocão now resembles a small-town avenue instead of a major road in a metropolis of 12 million people.

“The air is certainly better,” said Daniel Guth,an urban mobility consultant. “I’ve felt the improvement in air quality both as a cyclist and as a quarantined citizen,” he laughed. “We should use this as a moment to reflect on what transport methods we should prioritise when this crisis is over.”

Despite being under lockdown, many Paulistas, as the city’s residents are known, are still finding ways to enjoy the cleaner air, taking to windows and apartment balconies for nightly pot-banging protests against Brazil’s far-right President Jair Bolsonaro, who has repeatedly dismissed the coronavirus as just “a little flu”.

Bogotá, the sprawling mountaintop capital of Colombia, is also usually choking with traffic so bad that officials occasionally ban cars for entire days. But since the nationwide coronavirus quarantine took hold on 24 March, exhaust fumes have fallen as the city ground to a halt. Yet the newly fresh air has been taunting Bogotá’s residents, who are allowed to leave home only for food and medicines, not even a daily dose of outdoor exercise. “Without a doubt this pandemic is helping us improve air quality,” said Carolina Urrutia, Bogotá’s district environment secretary. “With the city shut down, we are able to focus our efforts on other environmental factors.”
Empty avenue in Cali, Colombia, on April 1.

Cali, Colombia’s third city and usually a smokey, congested metropolis, has also been spared from the usual forest fires, allowing residents to breathe fresher air. “The thick cloud that usually hangs over us has been lifted,” said Christian Camilo Villa, an air quality activist and Cali resident. “The concern is that it will return when the quarantine ends.”

Indeed, the fear among environmentalists and residents is that, rather than attempting to maintain the low levels of pollution in the world’s biggest capitals, when industry and cars kick back into action post-lockdown, the situation will go back to square one, and perhaps even worsen, as people and industry attempt to make up for the lost months.

The signs from China, which is coming out of the other side of the coronavirus outbreak and where lockdowns are loosening up, are not positive. For the first four weeks after the Chinese new year holiday in late January, when the coronavirus outbreak was at its worst, pollution levels fell 25% across the country. But since early March, levels of nitrogen dioxide pollution have begun to inch back up as the country gets back to work with factories, businesses and power plants re-opening and traffic returning.

Lauri Myllyvirta, lead analyst for the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air, said: “The big question is whether government stimulus measures lead to pollution levels rebounding above the levels before the crisis, like happened after the 2008 financial crisis.”

Quebec is calling for anyone with healthcare experience to come there. They need it. Almost a 1,000 cases since the Easter weekend. Ontario is holding off calling for help but they had a bad few days as well.

BC is still holding the line with the fewest cases over the Easter long weekend with 14. But most troubling for BC is a major outbreak in one of our Federal prisons in the Valley. 60 cases.

Heartland hotspots: A sudden rise in coronavirus cases is hitting rural states without stay-at-home orders

The test results came back on Easter Sunday. Tammy had been feeling "kind of crappy" when she went to her doctor in rural southeastern Oklahoma last week. A sign of possible pneumonia prompted her to get a coronavirus test later that day at the McCurtain County Health Department in Idabel.

When it came back positive, Tammy, who spoke on the condition that CNN not use her last name to protect her privacy, had already quarantined herself. Isolated, she decided to write her governor, Kevin Stitt, the first-term Republican and one of just 8 governors in the US to resist issuing a statewide stay-at-home-order. Tammy had voted for Stitt but she didn't agree with his decision.

Her message to him was simple: "Shut this mess down."

Doing OK, 1KIKI. Staying isolated az much az practicle.

Like most peepl, spending a bunch uv time on the coronavirus newz.

There iz more disinfo than solid facts at this point.

The FPN (Fox Propaganda Network - the name I'm uzing for the entire rite wing media, including radio, print, web) iz pushing a narrativ that the flu iz worse than C-19. The primary factoid they base it on iz that 61,000 peepl hav died from the flu this seazon so far (a prezumtion that may or may not be true bekuz it will remain an estimate for yirz).

A few thingz to take note uv:

1. The flu seazon iz about 6 months so far, Oct 1 to March 28. This ranje iz wut you will find in articlez refered by ritewingerz.
2. There are vacseenz for the flu
3. The fatality rate iz well established at .1%
4.The flu haz 100% saturation in the human rase.

Compare the COVID-19 virus:

1. The 'seazon' beginning at the 1st confirmed case in the US wuz Jan 21st. Nearly 4 months after the start uv the flu seazon. The 1st deth wuz Feb 29th. We are now at 36,773 1 month & 18 daze later.
2. There are no vacseenz for it and no herd immunity. That meanz it can jump from person to person unimpeded.
3. The fatality rate iz about 3.4%. That meanz that if you get it, you are 34x more likely to kik the buket than if you got the flu insted.
4. The saturation iz about .05%.

So if you multiply the fatality number by 200 if it wuz at the same saturation level az the flu, its 7,354,600 ded Americanz so far and on its way to 11,900,000.

Antibody tests are starting to become available that allow us to test an entire population and get a solid estimate of how many people have ever been infected. A team of researchers did this for Santa Clara County in California recently and came up with this: . . . we estimate that the seroprevalence of antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in Santa Clara County is between 2.49% and 4.16%.

The “official” number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the US is about 600,000. If we take a middle estimate of 3.3 percent from this study and extrapolate it to the entire country, the true number of cases is about 11 million.

But what’s the death toll? The official number right now is about 30,000, but let’s be conservative and assume the real number is twice as high. This gives us 60,000 deaths out of 11 million cases, for a true case fatality rate CFR of 0.5 percent. This is much lower than previous estimates from around the world.

www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2020/04/the-true-cfr-of-the-coronavirus
-may-be-0-5-or-less
/

If you assume everybody in America will, eventually, be exposed that means a case fatality rate of 0.5% times 330 million population of US equals 1.65 million dead over a few years. But the true case fatality rate might NOT be 0.5%. Who knows what it truly is? Time will tell. Also, vaccines and antiviral drugs like remdesivir will change the numbers.

There are some VERY big assumptions in your quoted figures.

One is that all the fatalities have been counted as of now. Since COVID-19 kills by pneumonia ... by heart attack (heart attacks are occurring in SARS-COV-2 infected people at 5X normal rates, but aren't being counted), by kidney failure, by DIC, by cytokine storm ... and since many people are dying suddenly, at home, and not being counted ... AND since deaths are still catching up to infections ... it's guaranteed that the official case fatality rate will go up. And it's guaranteed that the real case fatality rate (as distinguished from the official one) is significantly under-counted. And probably by a factor of far greater than 2, given the prevalence of 'heart attack' deaths.

Another is that exposure = antibodies = immunity which has yet to be shown.

A related issue is the assumption that exposure = antibodies = immunity = vaccines. I remind you that it's been over 4 decades since the AIDS epidemic, and there is STILL no HIV vaccine, even though people develop antibodies to it. There is no automatic conclusion that a vaccine will be possible.

And even if an effective vaccine can be found, and manufactured, it'll be years to a mass market.

Another assumption is that remdesivir will be effective. The jury is still out even though it looks promising.

And finally, your assumption is that in our 'greatest' medical system on the planet, people will be able to afford whatever treatment might work. I can imagine the price being quite high when it comes out on the market. And Remdesivir or equivalent only works if you can get it, and get it early enough to make a difference. I'd bet you ain't seen insurance haggling like you will with an expensive new treatment.

Your post looks at the absolute best possible scenario. It doesn't cover the range of how badly things could go if these assumptions turn out to not be true.

Bullshit. You can't just throw a bunch of deaths that were going to happen from other reasons in there, you fucking fear monger. The number they quoted at 2x is conservative and easily covers it.

It certainly has not been proven otherwise either.

The absolutely best possible scenario is a Senate with 33 or fewer Republicans, which would make possible Medicare-for-all and Remdesivir-for-all. I don't think that will ever happen unless GOP controlled states leave the Union; ending slavery wasn't possible until the Confederate States withdrew their Senators from Washington D.C.

Here is a chart showing deaths per week for common causes including heart attack. I wish I could get the image to port over but it won't.

https://i.insider.com/5e98cd7173d0c818b1055a52?width=1300&format=j
peg&auto=webpformat=jpeg&auto=webp

Anyway, there is a MUCH more complete chart in the same format specifically comparing Covid-19 deaths per week to (for example) the 2017-2018 flu and 2017-2018 flu+pneumonia. I wish I could give you a link to the url just at that frame, or post a screenshot of this, but not possible from here. So if you land anywhere between 14:40 to 15:35 you'll see it.

SECOND: I don't bother to look at "cases" because the number is hostage to how much testing is being done, as I've pointed out ever since I started posting on this thing IN CHINA. So the "case fatality rate" is probably inaccurate, ESPECIALLY when the number of test kits is so limited and/or the testing criteria is so damn narrrow that you basically have to be in hopsital first. (Thank you CDC!)

KIKI has been posting (when numbers are being quoted) since forever that "A factor of X60 may apply" which was a pretty damn good guess, since the Santa Clara study estimates a factor of 50-80 undercount.

So neither you nor the Santa Clara study are telling us anything new. It's like the Spanish flu ... nobody knew the true infection rate so nobody knew the true "case fatality rate" .... but that didn't stop the bodies from piling up.

Which brings me to my point: it's harder to ignore deaths.

Let's do a little math here: If the true rate of infection is at about 1%, and we need to get to roughly 85% infection rate in order to get to "herd immunity" (assuming such a thing is actually develops and people become robustly immune for the long term, once recovered) how many deaths until herd immunity is reached?

Well... 85X the number of current deaths (plus we would have to project about two weeks into the future to capture the deaths of people who are currently infected but who haven't died yet).

So, assuming 1000 new deaths per day for two weeks (which is probably an underestimation) we get 14,000 deaths over the next two weeks
The CURRENT death toll is 38,200 for the USA.
So (38,200 + 14,000) X 85 = 4.44 MILLION deaths until herd immunity.

Well, if you don't like my forward projection of death from the current rate of infection, how about we just go with current deaths?
38,200 X 85 = 3.25 MILLION

Hmmm... better, but not great.
Math. It works.

It was based on a UCLA study that looked at infection rate in China, and the number of infected that came here to the US before any airport screenings or travel restrictions were put in place; and an estimate of unimpeded, undetected community spread from them. They were pretty spot-on.

ETA: I did post the link, but it would be a chore digging it out from wherever I put it.

Eh - it wasn't UCLA that came up with the X60 factor, it was Cedars Sinai plus me. They came up with a projected number of cases, I calculated the X60 factor from that and the confirmed number of cases at the time.

Immunity will become a societal advantage.

Imagine an America divided into two classes: Those who have recovered from infection with the coronavirus and presumably have some immunity to it; and those who are still vulnerable.

“It will be a frightening schism,” Dr. David Nabarro, a World Health Organization special envoy on COVID-19, predicted. “Those with antibodies will be able to travel and work, and the rest will be discriminated against.”

Already, people with presumed immunity are very much in demand, asked to donate their blood for antibodies and doing risky medical jobs fearlessly.

Soon the government will have to invent a way to certify who is truly immune. A test for IgG antibodies, which are produced once immunity is established, would make sense, said Dr. Daniel R. Lucey, an expert on pandemics at Georgetown Law School. Many companies are working on them.

As Americans stuck in lockdown see their immune neighbors resuming their lives and perhaps even taking the jobs they lost, it is not hard to imagine the enormous temptation to join them through self-infection, experts predicted. Younger citizens in particular will calculate that risking a serious illness may still be better than impoverishment and isolation.

“My daughter, who is a Harvard economist, keeps telling me her age group needs to have COVID-19 parties to develop immunity and keep the economy going,” said Dr. Michele Barry, who directs the Center for Innovation in Global Health at Stanford University.

Hi Siggy. Hi everybody.

I'v been doing alot uv fone yammering lately. Peepl are getting bored and lonely, so pik up the fone.

Also hav been developing a UV jerm killer mask.

Getting alot uv free money! I feel gilty, but know it duznt make sens to. The most prominent feature uv this poor excuse for a sivilization iz that sum peepl get OODLEZ uv free money all the time, so now alot uv workerz are going to get sum for a wile.

A possibl upside to the C-19 pandemic iz that it coud break 'the rich get everything' system wich haz been hobbling the planet for senturyz.

It iz a frajile system, so just 1 pandemic iz making it fall apart. All it coud take iz a 2nd new pandemic, a relatively small asteroid, or a major earth quake and we woud be on our way bak to the stone aje.

The projectionz that the infection rate iz ~60X hire redoos the number uv fatalityz I came up with befor. But, az a comparison to the flu, its probably still valid. How many peepl get the flu but never report it due to mild or no symptomz?

The FPN yammmererz, such az Shapiro, Crowder, Klaven etc. are ignoring that.

6string, wuzzup with the vitriol?

Sigs and Karen have been piling on me ever since I told Karen that AIDS isn't real. Karen loves posting a bunch of fake numbers and passing them off as fact. She's gross.

Sounds like you finally got the unemployment. Good for you.

Piers Morgan has been a strong and steady voice of support for Donald Trump since he took office, but the president’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic has certainly changed that.

Here’s what he had to say on CNN on Sunday:

‘All that is required from the president in those moments, and any world leader, frankly, they have to be calm, show authority, they have to be honest, they have to be accurate, entirely factual with what they’re telling the people and they have to have an ability to show empathy... On almost every level of that, Donald Trump at the moment is failing the American people.’

Morgan, who once won Trump’s television show “Celebrity Apprentice” and has been praised several times on the president’s Twitter feed over the years, went on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” segment just days after he criticized “King Trump” in a column.

Morgan said that he still considers Trump a friend but that he could no longer hold his tongue amid the “mounting horror” that are the daily White House briefings.

“He’s turning these briefings into a self-aggrandizing, self-justifying, overly defensive, politically partisan — almost like a rally to him,” Morgan said. “Trump’s ratings are falling, and the reason for that is — he needs to understand this — they’re falling because people don’t trust him.”

Meanwhile, in reality...

Trump's ratings aren't falling at all.

They're down a bit from the absolute peak he had several weeks ago when polling was conducted, but the latest results that are posted now were done amid millions of Americans not being able to even log into their state's unemployment website, and the stimulus checks had yet to go out. And those numbers are still around his all-time high before the recent peak.

Trump is doing fine. At least his numbers are anyhow.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Meanwhile in Real reality, rather than inside your head, Trump's approval rating is down significantly from 49% in March, while his disapproval rating is up 9 points from 45%. Even in Trump's favorite poll, Rasmussen has found Trump getting buried for his horrendous response to COVID-19.
