Yanno, I always thought of the BC coast as being a temperate rain forest and the interior as having semi-conistent rainstorms, at least in the mountain area. Because it's so heavily forested. But I guess it's like more like the central Sierras, which experiences dry summers.

I'd thought about using something to clamp it, but since that bit is right under the lid I don't know what I could use that wouldn't interfere with how the lid operates under the coffee grounds contraption. I also considered washing it up real good and super-gluing it, but I don't know how that would hold up with the somewhat extreme heat over time, and it's just not worth me going to pour the pot one day and the thing snapping off and a full pot of hot coffee falling on my ground and splashing all over my finished white cabinets and white appliances. It's just time to buy a new one.

What a cheap piece of crap though. Never in my life have I seen that with a pot.

That pot SUCKED anyhow. It's one of those thin-lipped ones, so if you don't take your sweet ass time pouring your cup or pouring water into the back of the thing when you're making a pot it will go all over the place. This is my opportunity to make sure I don't repeat that mistake.

Yeah... In my price range I'll probably be lucky to get one made in India. If you remember, my last coffee maker went caput a few years back and I was complaining that I couldn't even open the thing up because they used special screws that were designed so you could only tighten them and there's no way to unscrew them. These things are all made to break without any way for you to fix them yourself. Thankfully, they're cheap. But that's more plastic and glass in a landfill for no reason.

I'll get about another 4 or 5 years out of this next one if I'm lucky. But at least it will be 4 or 5 years with a pot that is wide lipped and doesn't suck.

Yeah. I'm not one who likes to share the negative vibes or look for sympathy either. I'm sure this isn't the first time that I've stayed largely out of the Garden even though I was still here, but I do realize it's been long enough to make you wonder this time.

I'll get it together. You can't keep people you love from leaving, and outside of that there's nothing in my life so broke it can't be fixed.

Well...

Except my coffee pot.
