Insulin Price Cap of $35 Takes Hold

Jan. 4, 2024 -- The price of insulin was capped this week by the last of the major three suppliers, meaning more Americans are now paying no more than $35 for the diabetes treatment. . . .

I know for a fact that insulin is far more than $35.

This entire story is a big fat hoax and has been since the beginning.

I've got a big fat stack of receipts over the last year and a half to prove it.

And on top of that, Diabetics need a LOT more than just insulin, and none of the prices of those other things have gone down a single penny either.

Another good story ruined by an eyewitness.

Now that your bullshit is out of the way...

Let's talk about the debate last night.

6ix, you get supplies from Indiana, right? A Trumptard controlled state, right? Until the Federal government sells supplies directly to people living in Indiana, the Trumptards controlling Indiana also control supply costs:

Most Medicaid enrollees receive insulin for free or at a significantly reduced cost. However, each state makes its own determination about which diabetes medications and supplies are covered through its Medicaid program. For more information about what medications and supplies are covered in your state, please contact your state Medicaid agency.

6ix, talk to an Indiana Trumptard in government and ask why they are cheating you.

J.D. Vance Won the Debate. But Tim Walz Got the Clip.

At the very end of the debate, though, Walz seemed to get it—and was able to produce Vance’s worst moment of the night, and a defining takeaway for the Harris campaign to use.

In this case, Walz was paying attention when Vance, asked about Trump’s efforts to steal the 2020 election, did his usual cool and collected dissembling of it as all a big misunderstanding. Walz pounced, and effectively. While noting that the two might have “agreement” on some other issues, Walz said, “this is one that we are miles apart on. This was a threat to our democracy in a way that we had not seen. And it manifested itself because of Donald Trump’s inability to say, he is still saying, he didn’t lose the election. I would just ask that: Did he lose the 2020 election?”

“Tim, I’m focused on the future,” Vance said. “Did Kamala Harris censor Americans from speaking their mind in the wake of the 2020 COVID situation?”

“That is a damning non-answer,” Walz shot back.

For however many were watching this debate, Vance may have improved his image. He may have been able to settle some nerves about a second Trump administration. Walz may have been on his back foot the whole night. But in the end, Walz got the clip.

That's some hopium ya got there!

I never even watched the debate. I assumed that Vance would wipe the floor with Walz, and it sounds like he did.

But it says something that our VP candidates sound more credible than our Presidential candidates. Trump is a salesman with ADHD.
And Kamala, the Kackle Kween, apparently is so mentally deficient she can't handle a regular interview, much less a press conference.

Sigh.

Still. Trump's record is that he will work for the USA as he sees best, and Kamala's is that she's a deep state puppet who will tirelessly in everyone's interests except ours.

As usual with the M$M, this is a misrepresentation. FEMA, and the Federal govt, is funded thru December. Here's what happened

Quote:

Days before Southeastern states were ravaged by Hurricane Helene—with catastrophic flooding affecting inland areas previously thought to be relatively protected from the increasingly frequent storms intensified by climate change—Congress left Washington without approving any additional funding for disaster relief.

Despite the knowledge that Helene would make landfall on Thursday, lawmakers embarked on a six-week recess for the preelection campaign sprint last Wednesday, after passing a bill keeping the government funded temporarily through December. Left out of the measure: billions of dollars in supplemental disaster funding. Although the temporary measure extended funding for the Federal Emergency Management Agency through December 20, the agency’s disaster relief fund is facing a $3 billion deficit by February. Rather than receiving the bulk of its money through the regular appropriations process, the relief fund is primarily funded through supplemental appropriations bills in response to major disasters—measures that come with their own complications.

https://newrepublic.com/article/186576/congress-helene-relief-efforts-
fema

It sounds to me like the REAL problem is the way FEMA is "usually" funded, i.e. piecemeal, on a disaster- to- disaster basis, rather than receiving a regular yearly budget.

Given that, it was extremely short sighted not to vote for ADDITIONAL funding, knoeing that disaster was bearing down on eastern states. Also, we should expect more and more climate related disasters bc of global climate shift.

Quote:

THGR And now it's, please Mr. President, can we have some money. Actually, can we please have lots and lots of money.
Well, there is enough $$ in the FEMA budget for them. It's the next disaster that gets shorted.

Yeah, fuck those who voted against additional funding.

*****

FEMA is a large, lumbering agency, very slow on its feet in providing immediate aid like rescue, water, food, shelter, and utility restoration. That usually seems to be handled by county and state firefighters (rescue), police, and relief agencies; and utility consortia. Maybe the best thing FEMA can do is help fund local/ county rescuers and beef up emergency preparedness on the front end, and low cost loans and grants on the back end.

Not really sure how that would work best, but something to think about.

From the People Who Brought You Project 2025: Manufactured Evidence of Voter Fraud

While the Heritage Foundation has previously spread disinformation about purported noncitizen voting, the organization has now turned to desperate measures in search of nonexistent voter fraud.

By Jasleen Singh | September 10, 2024

ught-you-project-2025-manufactured-evidence-voter-fraud

The DC-based Heritage Foundation has long spread disinformation about elections, claiming there is widespread voter fraud despite ample evidence to the contrary. More recently, it has gained attention for its authoritarian and antidemocratic Project 2025 plan for a second Trump administration.

Ahead of this fall’s election, Heritage has been at the forefront of pushing the lie that noncitizens are registering and voting in significant numbers, laying the groundwork for election deniers to use in case the results don’t go their way.

Now its efforts to undermine trust in elections have taken a dangerous new turn — a boots-on-the-ground approach to fish for voter fraud where there is none. In July, men working with Heritage knocked on the doors of suspected noncitizens in an apartment complex outside Atlanta, asking about the residents’ citizenship status and whether they are registered to vote. The pair misrepresented themselves as being with a company that assists Latinos with navigating the election system and secretly videotaped their interactions.

Several of the people said they were noncitizens and had registered, which the Heritage Foundation touted as supporting its false claims on the topic — but according to state investigators, the New York Times reported, there is no record of any of these people being registered. At least one of the people recorded told investigators that she was just giving answers she hoped would make the two men go away.

But Heritage posted the videos to its website and claimed that based on a mere 7 people, 14 percent of noncitizens in Georgia were registered to vote — an estimated 47,000 people. It’s a ludicrous assertion. The office of Georgia’s Republican secretary of state dismissed the video as a “stunt.”

Yeah. I read that one too after posting the long list of Alt-Left articles last night.

He got the clip alright.

"I'm friends with school shooters"

And after 2 minutes of using Kamala's go-to "I was born in a middle class family" line, the moderator actually did her fucking job and asked him the question again about why he lied about being in Hong Kong in the Tiananmen Square protests. He "misspoke" and he's a "knucklehead".

What he is, is a big fat fucking liar about everything, like most politicians. But unlike most other politicians, he's no good at it. And the lies are just so dumb and easily disprovable. Everything from stolen valor to lying about never using more than black pepper on his "white guy tacos".

Walz wins hotdish contest

https://www.nujournal.com/news/local-news/2016/05/12/walz-wins-hotdish
-contest
/

Quote:

On Wednesday, the 158th anniversary of Minnesota becoming a state, Walz’s Turkey Taco Tot Hotdish was named the winner in U.S. Sen. Al Franken’s sixth annual hotdish competition for the Minnesota congressional delegation.

Franken started the friendly hotdish off as a way to bring the delegation together and celebrate a Minnesota culinary tradition. After a blind taste test of all 10 Minnesota congressional member’s hotdishes, judges named Walz’s dish the 2016 winner, the third time in four years he has won. Walz’s Turkey Trot Tater-Tot Hotdish took the top prize in 2014, and his Hermann the German Hotdish took first place in 2013.

The judges included:

Award-winning Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema, a native Minnesotan who donned a disguise to maintain his anonymity for when he visits restaurants;

Dorothy Sietsema, Tom’s mother, and a Minnesota culinary authority in own right, who happened to be visiting from Worthington; and

Ryan Jensen, the founder and owner of popular DC coffee shops, Peregrine Espresso, and native of Fergus Falls.

Walz’s Turkey Taco Tot Hotdish victory makes it his third hotdish title.

“It’s always nice to put aside our differences and come together over some great hotdish,” said Franken. “I would like to thank all of my colleagues for taking the time out of their busy schedules to join the competition, and congratulate Rep. Walz on his award-winning hotdish. It was delicious. “

“A hotdish dynasty is born,” Walz said, after winning his third hotdish championship. “In all seriousness though, I congratulate Rep. [Betty] McCollum on her delicious runner-up dish as well, and thank Sen. Franken again for putting on this friendly competition. It’s a great way for us to come together and celebrate our heritage, while building bipartisan relationships. As we move forward, let’s carry this spirit of bipartisanship past the hotdish competition, and work to solve the real challenges we face.”

“This bipartisan event proves that nothing unites Minnesotans like hamburger, cheese, tater tots, and cream of mushroom soup,” Rep. Rick Nolan said. “Blended together at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, these four essential food groups keep our women strong, our men good-looking, and our children above average.”

“The best part of the Minnesota delegation hotdish competition this year was tasting all of the wonderful dishes that remind me of our great state,” said Rep. Keith Ellison. “I thank Sen. Franken for bringing us together every year, and giving us the opportunity to try some hotdish. Congrats to Rep. Walz on his victory!”

“There’s nothing better than bringing some Minnesota flavor to our nation’s capital,” said Rep. Eric Paulsen. “Tastiness is something that elected officials of all political stripes can believe in.”

“I am a firm believer of bringing Midwest values to Washington and today we did just that – with hotdish,” said Rep. Tom Emmer. “There is nothing like a little Minnesota cooking to bring members of Congress from all over the political spectrum together. I am hopeful for a future hotdish competition win, just as I am hopeful for the future of this great nation.”

The other members prepared the following hotdishes: Franken made Land of 10,000 Calories Hotdish; Sen. Amy Klobuchar made Babe the “Brew” Ox Steak and Ale Hotdish; Rep. Collin Peterson made Collin’s Rockin’ Rabbit “Hop” Dish; McCollum made Making Hotdish Great Again Hotdish; Rep. Ron Kline made Pizza Pie Hotdish; Ellison made The Most Beautiful Hotdish in the World: Green Chile-Chicken Casserole; Nolan made Cousin Jack’s Hot-Rolled, Corrosion-Resistant Pasty Hotdish; Paulsen made Boundary Waters Bacon, Beef, and Taters Hotdish; and Emmer made Havana Hotdish.

Last year, McCollum bested the competition with her Turkey, Sweet Potato, and Wild Rice Hotdish. Walz’s “Turkey Trot Tater-Tot Hotdish” took the top prize in 2014, and his “Hermann the German Hotdish” took first place in 2013. In 2012. Franken’s Mom’s Mahnomin Madness Hotdish and former Rep. Chip Cravaack’s Minnesota Wild Strata Hotdish tied for first place. Klobuchar took top honors in 2011 with her Taconite Tater-Tot Hotdish.

Tim’s Turkey Taco Tot Hotdish

– 1 lb ground turkey

— 1 large red bell pepper (or two medium ones)

— 1 yellow onion

— 1 can sliced black olives

— 1 can diced mild green chilies

— 1 bottle taco sauce (medium)

— 1 16 oz sour cream

— 1 bag of frozen tots

— 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese

— 3 cups sweet corn

— cherry tomatoes

— green onions

— shredded iceberg lettuce

— paprika

— chili powder

— onion powder

— garlic powder

— olive oil

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Dice the onion and bell pepper into 1–inch dice and saut in 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt and pepper for 15 minutes, until tender. Remove onion and bell pepper and set aside in a mixing bowl.

Brown turkey. In a small bowl, mix 2 teaspoons each of paprika, chili powder, onion powder and garlic powder. Add half of mixture to the turkey while browning. Reserve the other half of mixture to sprinkle over the tots prior to baking. When finished, add the turkey in with the sauteed onion and bell pepper. Add black olives, sweet corn, chilies, taco sauce, 2 cups of cheese, and sour cream.

Stir mixture until combined. Pour into a baking dish and sprinkle the remaining 2 cups of cheese on top. Add tots on top of the mixture and cheese. Sprinkle spice mixture on top of tots. Bake in 400 degree oven for 45 minutes or until tots are crispy and golden brown. After removing from the oven, sprinkle with shredded lettuce, green onions and diced tomato.

Serve with sour cream, hot sauce, avocado, cilantro or your favorite taco topping.

Fucking dummy. This ain't 1992. We're living in 2024 and you can't go around lying about stupid shit like this when you've made any sort of name for yourself.

If he's lying about the fucking taco dishes he makes for a "cute little photo op", what won't the guy lie about?

Jack Smith’s Big New Jan. 6 Brief Is a Major Indictment of the Supreme Court

By Richard L. Hasen | Oct 02, 2024 5:44 PM

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2024/10/trump-election-interferenc
e-trial-jack-smith-brief-supreme-court-failure.html

Trump’s detailed plot to overturn the results of the election was brazen and a major threat to American democracy. Because of it, even today, millions of Trump supporters believe the last election was stolen, and that primes the public for new attempts at subversion.

And now perhaps the most important case in American history may never get to a jury and the American public will never get a chance to learn about this evidence and a jury’s judgment of this evidence before they consider returning Donald Trump to office.

GOVERNMENT’S MOTION FOR IMMUNITY DETERMINATIONS

The defendant asserts that he is immune from prosecution for his criminal scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential election because, he claims, it entailed official conduct. Not so. Although the defendant was the incumbent President during the charged conspiracies, his scheme was fundamentally a private one. Working with a team of private co-conspirators, the defendant acted as a candidate when he pursued multiple criminal means to disrupt, through fraud and deceit, the government function by which votes are collected and counted—a function in which the defendant, as President, had no official role. In Trump v. United States, 144 S. Ct. 2312 (2024), the Supreme Court held that presidents are immune from prosecution for certain official conduct— including the defendant’s use of the Justice Department in furtherance of his scheme, as was alleged in the original indictment—and remanded to this Court to determine whether the remaining allegations against the defendant are immunized. The answer to that question is no. This motion provides a comprehensive account of the defendant’s private criminal conduct; sets forth the legal framework created by Trump for resolving immunity claims; applies that framework to establish that none of the defendant’s charged conduct is immunized because it either was unofficial or any presumptive immunity is rebutted; and requests the relief the Government seeks, which is, at bottom, this: that the Court determine that the defendant must stand trial for his private crimes as would any other citizen.

Economists agree another Trump term would ruin the US economy — will voters listen?

By Paul Bledsoe | 10/02/24 7:00 AM ET

n-disaster

Trump’s tariffs are “economic proposals that can actually cause inflation and put you into a recession – at the same time,” says David Kelly, chief global strategist at JPMorgan Asset Management, calling them a “perfect stagflation machine.”

The deeply conservative National Interest publication says “Trump’s tariffs would be a disaster for America, sparking 20 percent inflation or more for many goods and burdening average consumers with high costs.”

The conservative Peterson Institute for International Economics estimates Trump’s plans could cost the average household $2,600 a year, with low-income Americans suffering most.

The Financial Times points out that Trump’s proposals are similar to the protectionist Smoot Hawley Tariff Act passed by Congress in the 1930s that helped prolong the Great Depression. The Times calls the Trump’s plans “a poison pill for the American people, the US economy and the world.”

Trump just keeps upping the ante, making his tariffs larger and worse. He now says they could be up to 20 percent across the board and 60 percent for China; if countries planned to reduce their dependence on the dollar, they could be hit with 100 percent tariffs “as punishment.”

Trump’s proposals would also skyrocket the U.S. debt — The Penn Wharton Budget Model concluded that his policies would add $5.8 trillion in deficits over 10 years. No wonder The Economist magazine echoes the National Interest, finding “Trump’s tariff plans would be disastrous for America.”

On top of all this, Trump has made explicit threats to the Federal Reserve’s independence, which is a lynchpin to America’s global economic leadership. The ex-president has repeatedly demeaned respected Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, questioning whether Powell was a bigger “enemy” of America than Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

On the whole, “economists of all stripes agree that Trump’s agenda represents a far more radical extension of the policies introduced during his term in office between 2017 and 2021,” as the Financial Times notes.

David Frum writes:

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2024/10/jd-vance-debate-r
einvents/680116
/

I’ve known Vance for 15 years. In that time, I’ve witnessed many reinventions of the Vance story, heard many different retellings of who he is and what he believes. Last night, he debuted one more retelling. His performance of the role was well executed. The script was almost entirely fiction. Yet theater reviews aside, three issues of substance stayed with me.

The first is that Vance truly is no friend of Israel’s.

The evening opened with a question about yesterday’s Iranian missile barrage. This question presented Vance with a trap. On the one hand, Vance’s party wants to criticize the Biden-Harris administration as weak on defense, soft on Iran. On the other hand, Vance is himself intensely hostile to U.S. alliances. He has led the fight to deny aid to Ukraine. He keeps company with conspiracy theorists who promote anti-Semitism. Vance managed that contradiction in the debate mostly by evading the question about what the U.S. might do to support Israel. Israel’s actions, he said, were a matter for Israel to decide; beyond that, he had nothing to say.

But the trick in evading a question is that the evasion works only if it goes unnoticed. This evasion does not. If you care about Israel, what you heard was nothing where there needed to be something. He offered no solidarity with the Israeli families who had spent the evening in bomb shelters because of the most massive country-to-country ballistic-missile attack in the history of the world. No friendship, no sympathy, for the state of Israel. Above all, what Vance delivered—Israel will do what Israel will do—was a message of abandonment, not a message of support. If you wondered what kind of voice Vance would be in the Situation Room when Israel is under threat, now you know: not a friend.

The second enduring impression is that Vance has thoroughly analyzed the Republican problem on abortion and decided that the only option is to lie his way out.

When the Trump Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade in 2022, it opened the door to a new regime of state-level policing and punishment of American women. After this year’s election, Republicans may or may not have the votes in Congress to pass a national abortion ban. That’s not the most important question, however. The most important question is: Will a Republican administration use executive power to aid Republican states in their surveillance of American women? Vance’s own record on that is emphatic: Yes, he will, and, yes, he has.

Onstage, Vance disavowed his record. He professed support for generous investment in maternal health and child nutrition. But his record has not disappeared because he denied it. Vance’s actual preferred health policy is to restore to health insurers the right to treat people with preexisting conditions differently—to do less risk-sharing, not more, even if that leaves many Americans without affordable insurance. Women and children face more health risks than able-bodied men. Vance’s policies are the direct opposite of Vance’s slogans.

American women have had their privacy and autonomy ripped away from them—and Vance offered nothing to protect them. He was able to purr his way past his own cat-lady comments. But if American women were wondering, What happens to us under a Trump-Vance administration?, they have their answer: Your sex life and reproductive rights will be subject to government control in a way it has not been for half a century.

The third enduring impression is that Vance remains all in on Trump plots to overthrow the election. At the podium last night, Vance refused to accept the results of the 2020 election. That’s not just a lie about history. It’s a threat to the future.

Right now, Republicans in key states are working to bend the law to convert voting defeats into Electoral College victories. They hope to disenfranchise unwanted voters, to disqualify unwanted votes, to use a bag of old Jim Crow tricks and some new ones to defeat the people’s verdict in 2024. Vance’s answer about Trump’s violent coup after the last election expresses his willingness to support and assist his party’s stealthier subversion of the coming election.

You have been warned.

Special Counsel Says Trump Committed ‘Private Crimes’ in Bid to Stay in Power

Prosecutors’ submission of evidence says Trump was unconcerned about Vice President Pence’s safety on Jan. 6, 2021

By C. Ryan Barber and Sadie Gurman | Oct. 2, 2024 8:04 pm ET

https://www.wsj.com/politics/elections/special-counsel-says-trump-comm
itted-private-crimes-in-bid-to-stay-in-power-8697e1e8

Special Counsel Jack Smith, seeking to kick-start the federal prosecution of Donald Trump on election-interference charges, laid out a 165-page road map for allegations that the former president “resorted to crimes” to remain in power after losing the 2020 election.

The filing, unsealed Wednesday in a Washington, D.C., trial court, amounted to a defense of the case even after a recent Supreme Court ruling that conferred broad immunity on presidents for official acts at the core of their constitutional powers. Smith’s team asserts that Trump’s “scheme was fundamentally a private one,” leaving him open for prosecution.

The Republican presidential nominee has pleaded not guilty and accused Smith of ignoring the high court. A Trump campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, called the court filing “falsehood-ridden.”

“This entire case is a partisan, Unconstitutional Witch Hunt that should be dismissed entirely, together with ALL of the remaining Democrat hoaxes,” Cheung said.

Here are some highlights from the filing:

‘You still have to fight like hell’

Flying aboard Marine One after Election Day, Trump told his family that “it doesn’t matter if you won or lost the election. You still have to fight like hell,” according to a White House aide who overheard the remarks on the president’s helicopter.

The aide, identified as an assistant to the president and director of Oval Office operations, “happened to overhear this comment, but wasn’t participating in the conversation,” prosecutors said.

“The statement is plainly private,” prosecutors wrote, in defense of using such evidence at trial. “It was exclusively about the election and the defendant’s determination, as a candidate, to remain in power whether he won or lost.”

‘0-32 on our cases’

In December 2020, Trump amplified a false claim that election workers at State Farm Arena in Atlanta had committed misconduct by counting “suitcases” of fraudulent votes. The claim was disproved publicly and directly to Trump, prosecutors said. But still the president pushed fraud claims and urged the Georgia attorney general to look at them again “because we’re running out of time.”

On the day of Trump’s call with the state attorney general, his campaign staff acknowledged that the fraud claim involving State Farm Arena was baseless. And they emailed one another about the fact that television networks might decline to run campaign advertisements promoting it.

“When our research and campaign legal team can’t back up any of the claims made by our Elite Strike Force Legal Team, you can see why we’re 0-32 on our cases,” one campaign adviser wrote, according to Smith’s brief. “I’ll obviously hustle to help on all fronts, but it’s tough to own any of this when it’s all just conspiracy s—beamed down from the mothership.”

‘So what?’

Trump’s Twitter post on Jan. 6 attacking then-Vice President Mike Pence for refusing to block President Biden’s win spurred Capitol rioters to threaten Pence, prosecutors said. An aide rushed into Trump’s dining room to inform him that Pence had been taken to a secure location, hoping that Trump would take action to ensure the vice president’s safety. Trump instead only looked at the aide and said, “So what?” according evidence cited in Smith’s filing.

Prosecutors said that exchange further revealed “the private nature of his desperate conduct as a candidate, rather than a President.”

An ‘honest assessment’

Many people in Trump’s orbit tried to persuade him that he had lost and that his baseless claims of widespread fraud wouldn’t hold up in court. In one newly disclosed conversation, one of Trump’s lawyers told him there was no way those arguments would prevail. Trump said, “the details don’t matter,” according to the filing.

Around the same time, Pence said he “tried to encourage” Trump “as a friend” when news networks projected Biden as the winner and at other times “softly suggested” Trump “recognize that the process is over” even if he was unwilling to concede. He encouraged Trump instead to run again in 2024, the filing says.

“I don’t know,” Trump replied, according to the filing. “2024 is so far off.”

Bill Barr speaks out

Then-Attorney General Bill Barr was watching Fox News on Nov. 29, 2020, when he saw Trump make an appearance and declare the Justice Department was “missing in action” and had ignored evidence of fraud. It was then that Barr—identified in the brief as “P52”— decided to come out publicly against Trump’s claims. He later arranged lunch with an Associated Press reporter and said the Justice Department had found no evidence of widespread fraud that could have tipped the results of the election—“all without informing or seeking permission from the defendant,” prosecutors said.

That day, Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani issued a statement on behalf of the campaign attacking Barr for his comments.

Victory no matter what

Trump was counseled that the 2020 presidential contest would be close and unlikely to be finalized on Election Day. And while initial returns might give him an early lead, he was told, it would likely diminish as mail-in votes were counted.

Privately among his advisers, Trump had a plan for that scenario, prosecutors said. Three days before the election, a private political adviser described the plan to a gathering of supporters.

“And what Trump’s going to do is just declare victory. Right?” the adviser said, according to prosecutors. “He’s going to declare victory. That doesn’t mean he’s the winner, he’s just going to say he’s the winner.”

Immediately after election day, Trump “did exactly that,” prosecutors said.

The only two things that Biden* wants is ice cream and another nap.

Biden* doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. That's why Harris is running in his place now. You already forgot that?

The latest Emerson poll came out today for 9/29 - 10/01. It's got Harris up +1.

There were only two other Emerson polls since the Establishment did a coup on Joe Biden*

9/3 - 9/4 had Harris up +2

8/12 - 8/14 had Harris up +4

Tick Tock

Two things seem to go together about bosses I have worked for: The good ones, who are inevitably psychologically stable and capable of operating competently under stress, take good care of their people and their own health. The bad bosses, and Trump would be one of them, do not take care of themselves and they are not mentally stable at work. The bad bosses get fat (that's Trump), catch venereal diseases (that's Trump), and have addictions (alcohol, sex, drugs, gambling, etc.) (Trump, one more time) and they come flying apart when under even mildly stressful conditions (Trump, again).

I have had several bosses die on the job. Funny how all of them were bad bosses, just like Trump. We employees were glad to see the bad bosses dead, buried and no longer in a position to fuck up the job. With bad bosses, everything is the worst problem, exactly how Trump handled being President, always in Crisis Mode, never calm and quiet or rational.

Why Did Justice Alito (appointed January 31, 2006) Teach Law With A Man Who Tried to Overturn the Election?

Mark Martin floated fringe theories to keep Trump in power. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito taught with him — even after January 6.

On the evening of January 6, 2021, retired North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Martin had a nine-minute conversation with former President Donald Trump. This call followed weeks of efforts by Martin to find any legal means to keep Trump in power, during which he peddled fringe theories of election fraud and constitutional law to state officials and the Supreme Court.

Just 20 days after the insurrection, Martin had another intimate audience with another powerful right-winger: He taught a three-day seminar on constitutional law with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito for Regent University Law School in Virginia, where Martin was the dean at the time.

This link between a Supreme Court justice and such a close legal adviser to Trump’s Big Lie efforts has not been reported previously, and it adds to mounting questions about Alito’s sympathy for Trump heading into the election.

Despite evidence at the time that Martin was part of the Trump campaign’s legal brain trust and fed Trump radical ideas about the Constitution, Alito taught the three-day seminar with him again in 2022.

Martin and Alito did not respond to The Intercept’s questions for this story.

“It was and continues to be a shock to the system knowing that the upper echelons of the legal community used their legal talents to subvert the will of the people,” said Gabe Roth, executive director of Fix the Court, “and that Supreme Court justices of all people are friends with these individuals.”

As November approaches, it looks likely that the Supreme Court will play a significant role in deciding whether Trump returns to the White House. And out of nine people on the country’s highest bench, one of them decided to teach alongside a lawyer who helped orchestrate the Big Lie’s legal strategy.

The Reason Netanyahu and Putin Both Want a Trump Victory

Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu both want Donald Trump to win so they can prolong and intensify their brutal wars.

By James Risen | October 3 2024, 4:39 p.m.

https://theintercept.com/2024/10/03/netanyahu-putin-israel-russia-trum
p-election
/

Netanyahu knows that if Trump wins, he will give Israel a green light to conduct a far more brutal campaign in Gaza, southern Lebanon, and the West Bank than he has during the Biden administration. While Biden has called for limits on Netanyahu’s conduct of the war, he has ultimately not stood in Israel’s way despite a growing groundswell of opposition to the war within the party. Whether that voter pressure might eventually push Harris to put more limits on Israel is an open question. But under no circumstances will Trump pressure Netanyahu to agree to a ceasefire and will never demand that Israel agree to the creation of a Palestinian state. Trump will endorse Netanyahu’s push for Israeli control over all remaining Palestinian territory. Many Israelis now want Trump to win in order to allow for a more aggressive Israeli military campaign; a September poll found that 58 percent of Israelis would vote for Trump if they could.

For Netanyahu, escalating the war into a regional conflict against Hezbollah and Iran also provides an October surprise designed to damage Democratic chances in the U.S. election.

Meanwhile, Putin’s war against Ukraine will remain in limbo until the U.S. election is decided. If Trump wins, he will almost certainly withdraw U.S. support for Ukraine, and Putin will be free to mount an even more aggressive military campaign. Trump is also likely to reduce or end the U.S. commitment to NATO, leaving the Baltic states and other countries in Eastern Europe under an increasing threat from Russia.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s president, was in the United States last week, meeting with both Harris and Trump. The Biden administration pledged $8 billion in more aid to Ukraine, while Trump, who has repeatedly criticized Zelenskyy, pouted and nearly canceled a meeting with the Ukrainian leader.

When they did finally meet, Trump made a point of saying that he has a “very good relationship” with Putin. Trump’s pro-Russian running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, also attacked Zelenskyy for touring an ammunition factory in Pennsylvania where the Ukrainian president thanked the workers for supplying shells for the Ukrainian military. Vance was petulant because Zelenskyy toured the factory with the governor of Pennsylvania, who happens to be a Democrat.

In fact, it is no secret that Trump, Vance, and the MAGA cult that now dominates the Republican Party support Putin and want Russia to win the war and conquer Ukraine. Vance is part of the Christian nationalist base of the party, which loves Putin largely because he has cracked down on gay rights.

For his part, Putin sees Trump as his puppet who will meekly stand by while he conquers Ukraine and rebuilds the Russian empire in Eastern Europe.

Putin is once again working to help Trump win, and just as he did in 2016, he is using the internet to do it. Russian disinformation designed to help Trump is accelerating in the weeks leading up to the election.

They had to know that it puts the Harris/Biden* administration into a pure lose/lose situation. There's no reason they couldn't have put that off until Mid November with

Looks like you kind of got out of this one.

The Union rejected a 50% pay increase earlier, so who knows how much they're getting now.

Expect the price of literally EVERYTHING to have another huge increase because Democrats had to try to salvage whatever little Union vote they had left.

Thanks Harris/Biden*!

Feds say there’s no money left to respond to hurricanes — after FEMA spent $1.4B on illegal alien invaders

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas set off outrage Wednesday when he told reporters that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) “does not have the funds” to see Americans through the rest of this Atlantic hurricane season — after the agency spent more than $1.4 billion since the fall of 2022 to address the migrant crisis.

“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have,” Mayorkas said during a press gaggle on Air Force One en route to tour damage from Hurricane Helene in South and North Carolina.

“We are expecting another hurricane hitting,” he added. “We do not have the funds. FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season and what — what is imminent.”

...

The December 2022 funding bill authorizing spending on migrants vaguely described the purpose as for “providing shelter and other services to families and individuals encountered by the Department of Homeland Security.”

A relatively paltry $4 million has been paid directly to families and individuals in the week since Hurricane Helene ravaged the Southeast, killing at least 202 people and causing severe flooding damage from Florida to North Carolina, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Thursday.

DHS continues to provide unprecedented resources to support border & interior communities

WASHINGTON – Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), announced the allocation of over $380 million through the Shelter and Services Program (SSP). Through the SSP, DHS directly supports communities that are providing critical support such as food, shelter, clothing, acute medical care, and transportation to noncitizens recently released from DHS custody and awaiting their immigration court proceedings. FEMA, in coordination with CBP, is administering these SSP grants with state, local and tribal governments as well as nongovernmental organizations to help prevent the overcrowding of short-term CBP holding facilities. This funding augments the $259.13 million in SSP grants that DHS distributed in April 2024.

Unfortunately for Democrats though, Shapiro is now damaged goods and is not going to save the ticket at this juncture.

All we need to do is run ads with Shapiro smiling gleefully as he signed missiles before turning around, getting on his knees and sucking on Dick Cheney's cock.

The news ain't good, and most of it is coming from Alt-Left Media.

POLITICO: Walz says he ‘speaks like everybody else.’ And it’s not working for the campaign.

Key members of Harris’ circle weren’t aware of some of Walz’s inaccurate statements until they became public, despite the vetting process.

Quote:

Tim Walz has a problem misspeaking.

Since being tapped as Kamala Harris’ running mate, the folksy, plain-speaking Minnesota governor has had to explain a growing number of inaccurate statements — and at times embellishments — about his past. They range from comments about his military service to his visit to Hong Kong more than three decades ago to clarifying that his family didn’t specifically use in vitro fertilization.

It’s unclear whether Walz’s verbal errors will undercut his credibility with voters. But the need to continually clean up those claims could politically hurt Walz and Harris, who are locked in a tight race with Donald Trump and JD Vance. And in some cases, key members of Harris’ circle weren’t aware of some of the inaccurate statements until they became public despite the vetting process, according to four people familiar with the conversations who were granted anonymity to discuss the matter.

It's called LIES.

If that were Trump, everybody knows you wouldn't have a problem saying that word 10,000 times from now until Election Day.

MSNBC: Tim Walz's little embellishments are more than a little problem
The Minnesota governor has made something of a habit of misrepresenting his personal life. It needs to stop.

Embellishment. There it is again. Embellishment must be the word of the day for you lying motherfuckers, huh? Am I going to be able to make a youtube video compilation of every Alt-Left talking head saying it multiple times on Friday and over the weekend? I bet I am.

Quote:

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz had an awkward moment at Tuesday’s vice presidential debate when moderator Margaret Brennan asked him to respond to a report that he was not in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989, contradicting a claim he has made on multiple occasions.

Walz initially responded by sharing various unrelated details of his past as a teacher and a politician and describing himself as “a knucklehead at times,” but he did not acknowledge the specific discrepancy: Though Walz did travel to Hong Kong and China later that year, he did not arrive in either country until months after the protests. Pressed again by Brennan, he then said, “I got there that summer, and misspoke on this.” But then, confusingly, he proceeded to seemingly reverse his clarification: “I was in Hong Kong and China, during the democracy protests, went in.”

The strange pattern continued at a campaign stop in Pennsylvania the next day. Walz both admitted again that he had misspoken and subsequently repeated a misstatement about being in Hong Kong during the democracy protests.
What’s going on?

Lying. Lying is what is going on. Tim Walz lies so chronically that he can't stop.

You know this full well since it's behavior that your Media outfit engages in every single day.

The American People recognize this and are ignoring you now accordingly.

P.S. Disney is laying off 75 people at ABC "News" after the fallout from the blatant bias during the Trump/Biden* debate. Viewership of ABC "News" has dropped sharply since that night, particularly David Muir's show which has fallen 12% since he moderated that debate.

Quote:

If Donald Trump wins this election, the postmortems on Kamala Harris’ campaign should put her choice of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate at the top of her list of mistakes.

Much of America got to know Walz for the first time during Tuesday’s vice-presidential debate.

Unlike his appearance at the Democratic National Convention, the Walz we saw on the debate stage didn’t have his words written for him in a teleprompter.

And the unfiltered version underscored a very obvious fact about the governor: He is patently fake.

For starters, how about this “Coach Walz” nonsense, which he broached yet again on Tuesday.

Let’s be real, being an assistant volunteer coach isn’t exactly something to brag about. Walz always leaves out the “assistant volunteer” part of the title, to make himself out to be the second coming of Vince Lombardi.

Then there was Walz’s goofy ’80s-sitcom-dad shtick that’s meant to be endearing and relatable but is as cringe as one of Kamala’s fraudulent accents.

Just check out his answer to the question about why he’s claimed to be in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square protests when he was actually in Nebraska.

“I will be the first to tell you I have poured my heart into my community. I’ve tried to do the best I can, but I’ve not been perfect,” he said. “And I’m a knucklehead at times, but it’s always been about that.”

How comforting to know a self-described knucklehead could be one heartbeat away from controlling the nuclear codes.

This filibuster of an answer went on for a full two minutes without addressing why he had lied about being in China at that critical moment, prompting co-moderator Margaret Brennan to press him for an actual response.

“Governor, just to follow up on that, the question was, can you explain the discrepancy?” she asked.

“No,” he said. “All I said on this was . . . I got there that summer and misspoke on this, so I will just, that’s what I’ve said.”

Ah, he misspoke.

Who among us hasn’t made such a flub, stating we were in Asia when we were actually on the other side of the world?

The phony lied — just like he lied about serving in war zones when in reality he ditched his National Guard unit when it was about to be deployed to Iraq.

SECOND: You have no idea what you are talking about. I've had bad bosses who throw plates of food against the wall when plans go awry. (Trump had done that.) Also, bad bosses rage and strike their subordinates, who work around the lunatic-in-charge to solve complex problems beyond the boss' comprehension. (That is also Trump.)

Well, first of all, if Harris is such a GOOD boss, why does she suffer 90-95% staff turnover everywhere she goes?, And that includes her current stint as VP as well as her previous Presidential campaign. The complaints have to do with her being indecisive and constantly blaming, criticizing, and undercutting her staff whenevrr anything goes wrong, which is often.

If you're going to criticize Trump, at least harp on something where he is demonstrably worse than she is.

Secondly, I've had bosses who were a lot like you: sociopaths who liked to make anyone with a spark of independence suffer thru deliberate, abusive harassment. They didn't threaten physical violence, like you do, but they sure loved to hold your job over your head. (Something you have bragged about often)

If you're going to criticize Trump, make it for something where he is worse than YOU are.

*****:

At some point I'm going to post a SUBSTANTIVE criticism of Trump and show you how it's done.

Here's one: Trump's slavish policy towards Israel is immoral and unwise, and earning us many enemies across the globe. His hostility towards Iran is part of that same ball of "mistake".

Whats wrong with whst Trump proposes, economically?

His original program was a success, starting with getting out of TTIP. Compare his four year record Biden*/ Harris'.

Here is a Trump proposal that doesn't make sense.
Quote:

... if countries planned to reduce their dependence on the dollar, they could be hit with 100 percent tariffs “as punishment.”

This is one of those hare-brained schemes that would probably do the opposite of intended. The reason why nations are looking to de-dollarize is because we have weaponized the dollar so badly with (illegal) sanctions and secondary sanctions, nobody wants to get caught on the wrong side of that. You can get a threat work with "use the dollar OR ELSE" tariffs, but you'll only provoke other nations to seek alternatives, and if there are any that develop, nations will bolt into that as soon as able.

Financial Times: US union members and leaders are not always on the same political page

The data behind the Teamsters’ refusal to endorse a candidate may be more widespread than we think

Quote:

The saying goes, “don’t ask the question if you don’t want to know the answer”. US labour leaders have taken that advice to heart, largely declining to poll their membership on what political positions their unions should take. The problem is that, for many of them, their own progressive instincts are often woefully disconnected from the views of their members.

Public polling typically shows union members are only slightly to the left of the general public. Nearly three-quarters of potential private-sector union members, who work full-time in non-supervisory roles, say they would prefer organisations to stay out of politics and focus only on the workplace. Among those who say they would not vote to join a union, “union political involvement” is the top reason cited. Still, the labour movement’s leftward tilt survives on the circular logic that unions support Democrats, which goes to show the Democratic party is the pro-worker one, so that’s who they support.

At least, it survived until last month, when the International Brotherhood of Teamsters took the extraordinary step of releasing its own extensive internal polling data to explain its decision not to endorse a presidential candidate. Among Teamsters members, Donald Trump led Kamala Harris by more than 25 points.

What would the margin be among the autoworkers, steelworkers or carpenters, whose unions all endorsed Harris? It seems likely that Trump would have been the pick of many of them — at least, that should be the presumption until their unions conduct and release polling of their own.

Still, the labour leaders may not care. Again, look to the Teamsters. While the national organisation declined to issue an endorsement, many regional and local councils have done so. In Florida, the polling indicates that Teamsters members would prefer to see their union endorse Trump over Harris by 63 per cent to 35 per cent. Every single Teamsters council in Florida endorsed Harris anyway.

This election is so over...

My guess is that the polling in 2024 is even worse than it was the last two election cycles and when we all wake up on November 6th nobody who voted for Harris is going to have a fucking clue about what just happened. My guess is also that Kamala Harris' actual numbers right now aren't really any better than Joe Biden*'s were before they performed a coup on the person that the Democrats voted for, which is to say this election is still going to be the blowout that it was going to be 3 months ago before we were all thrust into the most chaotic election season ever inflicted upon the American People.

Will they finally wake the fuck up and realize that the media has been lying to them about this, just how they lie to them about everything else?

Doubtful.

We'll have 4 years of faulty logic, reasoning, and chronic crybabyism... all egged on by the main source of MSNBC and the likes of $30-Million-A-Year-Talking-Heads like Rachel Maddow. Just like we witness every single time.

And then JD Vance is going to destroy whoever they try to run against them in 2028 because Democrats don't have anybody good to run, let alone a deep bench to draw from. Any decent Democrat politician that the people would vote for who haven't already been kicked out like RFK and Gabbard will have defected from the Democratic Party by then and either announced themselves as Independent or even switch sides entirely.

We are finally witnessing the death of the current form of the Democratic Party.

That's a great thing, and it was a long time coming. Not just for Trump voters, but every single American Citizen.

We NEED at least 2 political parties to survive as a free nation. And my hope is that by 8 years from now all of the NeoCons will finally be ousted, as well as the evil fake-progressive activists like Nancy Pelosi who has made nearly $250 Million off of illegal insider trading since she's been in congress.

Time to flush them all down the toilet and start over.

I read, and I can't where, that FEMA is deliberately bolluxing local rescue efforts in order to interfere with the vote come November. The thought is that people in metro areas will be able to vote, while those in the hinterlands, where rescue efforts are being thwarted, will be too preoccupied just getting their feet under them to vote.

It would be the equivalent of trying to hold a vote in LA after a major earthquake.
