Oh boy... That sounds like a nightmare to me. I remember having to learn spanish for a semester in jr. high, but by high school I wasn't even required to, so I stayed far away from foreign languages.

I a quick study, but only when it interests me and/or it's something I need to know that there is no other way to work around. When it comes to things like this, I did spend time trying to learn coding from time to time, but I'd get frustrated and realized how much time (in days) had passed and all of that time could have been spent just manually working on things, so I always went back to that. I need to be making forward progress always when I'm working on something, so I know I've shot myself in the foot not learning to code over 2 decades ago over time.

You're not wrong. This is the reason why I never finished college after several attempts. I got straight A's in everything but the few courses that were holding me back from getting a diploma. It didn't matter how many times I took them or who the teacher was, I would end up dropping the course right before it would have been considered a failure so it would only be marked as an Incomplete on my record.

Oh yeah. That's the one thing I don't have to ask for updates on because whenever we make a change I just swap out any of the 12 parts we now have when the AI makes a code change.

Where I'm falling behind now is our Blueprint and Thesis, which is a combination of our history, milestones and rules for the AI going forward.

I didn't bother saving anything from the completely wasted Session 9 since it was all about behavioral changes and getting the code to actually send me working downloadable links and it ended up being about 12 hours wasted.

I stopped banging my head against the wall regarding that shortly into Session 9 and decided I'm not even really going to worry about the blueprint/thesis anymore either. I added updates from Session 10 to that, but that's all. I'm done wasting the first 2 hours of every session re-training the AI how to send me all that stuff in a way that I can use it without breaking everything. It's all about code now.

This session is almost dead and we're still trying to work out that last bug. If we can manage that before the session dies, I think we're in good shape.

Take a step back. Before you create a library of functions, are you able to define your variables? That might allow the creation of a "sort" function that can be used for many different sortings depending on which variable you plug into the function? That would reduce your code even more.

And yes, you're right. You're learning coding. Not the specific commands, but the logic and organization that makes coding efficient and scalable.

It looks enough like English and it has high level functions so you don't have to be pushing numbers into registers and clearing memory and other stupid shit. You were able to learn MS command language, right? If you can't figure out your program, it's bc it's badly written and badly commented. Based on what you told me, my guess is that your program shouldn't be more than 1000 lines, and you should be able to grasp what each section does just by reading it.

I know bc I've had to review software that someone had written. We were acquiring data from various instruments ... balances, titrators etc ... and putting the data into a database for later calculation. I don't recall what language it was written in but it was easy to read, like Python, and I was able to see what each part did bc it was broken into subroutines and everything was well -commented. At some point I think you're going to have to bite the bullet and review the actual code. And if it's spaghetti and you can't figure out how it works, it's badly written.
