Okay . . . just to stir up the pot a little bit . . .

Does anyone else find it a little funny that he named the dog Bo. As in B.O. As in Barack Obama? How narcisistic is that, huh?

They named the dog after Bo Diddley.

Edited to add: The name was not relevent...this is just another broken promise. In this case a promise to get their dog from a rescue...not a breeder.

Well . . . even so. It IS a little funny if ya think about it and . . . . take it to extremes

Even a little funny?

Just a touch?

A miniscule amount?

**EDIT** After reading your edit - Yeah, I heard about that. They claimed to not be able to find one that would fit their needs (allergies or some such?), but a Dog Rescue person found an identical dog to the one they got at a rescue in Maryland or something like that.

"...this is just another broken promise. In this case a promise to get their dog from a rescue..."

"Wayne Pacelle, chief executive (of the Humane Society), diplomatically referred to Bo as a "quasi-rescue dog".
He acknowledged that the Obamas never flat-out promised to get a dog from a pound or rescue group, though they expressed a strong preference for doing so."

This is just another case of 'Hero' telling fibs to further his agenda.

In 'Zit's defense, at least doesn't feel the need to include the text of an entire book AND a dozen or so fake pictures at the end of every post, like PirateNews does. Talk about a waste of bandwidth...

It's not the dog anyone is going after, folks love their dogs. It, PrezBo making use of the dog as cover and diversion for the R E A L issues. ( Well , the MSM's reporting of the dog can't be ignored either. ),

I admit - I don't watch much TV, and never the news. But I went through all the major on-line newspapers during the last few days - WashPost, NYTimes, ChicagoSunTimes, LATimes, Yahoo, CNN, BostonGlobe, USAToday - and had a hard time finding stories about the dog. They were briefly there, and gone in under a day, but I had to dig for them.

Are you SURE you want to say that 'the media' and President Obama are using the dog stories as a distraction ? Because the only people who seem to be making a big deal about it - would be people like you. When really, you could be pointing up more substantial things, like the successful rescue of the captain.

Not that I'm a wing-nut . . . but I thought I should point out, for those that may have missed it, that this was an intentional "Snarky" post. It was not intended to be taken seriously at all. When I heard the dogs name was Bo (before I saw it in print), I thought to myself, wouldn't it be funny if it was spelled like Obama's initials? Low and behold it was and it gave me a chuckle.

My work here is done.

I could really care less what the dog was nameed. I don't recall him mentioning a promise to get it from a rescue or shelter, to that's not important to me either. I got our first dog from a breeder, but our next one will probably be from a rescue/shelter or humane society. In fact, where I live the penitentiary (is that spelled right, Kwicko?) has an inmate dog-training program. Dogs picked up off the street are taken there and are housebroken, crate trained and taught five basic obedience commands. They are then sold to the public for a nominal fee. Depending on the selection when we're ready, that's probably where I'll go.

Of course, the dog DOES provide a much-needed distraction for the right, so they don't have to face the fact that Obama actually did something decisive and right in regards to the whole pirate thing...

Ooo, look over there! A DOGGIE!!

I just hope they don't go even more ballistic when they find out that not only did the dog come from a breeder, but Bo was actually CLONED using human fetuses and embryonic stem cells so that he'd be an actual member of the Obama family!

Oh, wait - I've said too much...

The last great Democrat, JFK, stood up to Russia and their nuclear missiles by blockading Cuba with warships. Obama wrestled with the big decision to take out 3 young pirates armed with Capt'n.Crunch whistle rings. My how the Dems have lost their touch.
