DREAMTROVE

Actually, Mr. West showed surprising stupidity here: The entire event is staged, the winners chosen from the new talent pool to boost sales of the new artists. Established artists such as Beyonce Knowles don't need the boost of an award, Taylor Swift does. Of course, the makers of the videos for both, like the song writers of both, are the massive Viacom media machine. This is a way to get the audience to respect the newer artists. Kanye clearly misses the entire point, and in the meantime seems to show some blatant racism, or at least genre-ism, and to totally embarrass Ms. Knowles, who of course has to work with the newcomer.

I find it hard to credit that this was an intentional stunt like the wardrobe malfunction, it seems more like an act of pure idiocy. I notice that Taylor Swift, who was before the top autocomplete for "ta" on google, is now second, and directly followed by "taylor swift kanye west" and a search for "taylor swift" returns the kanya west clip. Someone floated the idea that this was really all about mr west trying to get attention as a has been, but this is just proof that yes, there *is* such a thing as bad publicity.

Or to put it another way:

Barack Obama doesn't care about *dumb* people.

(BTW, I love Wyatt Cenac's take on this one:
"George Bush doesn't care about wet people!")

Oh, and I'm intentionally avoiding the topic of Addison Wilson, another moron.
