JELLO

Sorry, I'm new here and I posted this in log instead of discussion, so I hope you'se don't mind seeing this twice. Anyways, better for me, I get my words across twice.
Okay, so I was watching Pulp Fiction on DVD before and it was up to the part where Jules (the "badest motherf...er on the planet" Samuel L. Jackson) goes off on his interpretation of what the "Good Book" meant with the passage of Ezekiel 25:17. Then I started imagining what the good Shepherd Book would have to say to him and how they would debate what the literal meaning was.
I mean can you imagine seeing Jules say: "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." I really do wonder what the good Shepherd would say to him after hearing Jules say that passage, verbatim.
Wuh de ma, I'm just rambling on now. But I would like to hear what some of you'se think he would say, or imply. It would be a very interesting discussion I think.

Meh. I always wanted to know what the hell was in that damn briefcase.

If you look at that passage, Jules doesn't say it verbatim. Not even by a little.
And what is in the briefcase has been debated at incredible length. A popular theory(the one I like) is that it is Marcellus Wallace's soul.

Yeah. But that's Quentin Tarantino for you (a suitcase carrying something the audience never sees plays a part in most of his movies). The guy just loves messing with the audience. On the extras for the Reservoir Dogs DVD, he says how he loved going to the movies and get sucked into the movie because of how the director would grab his attention (something to that affect, been a while since I saw that). So, he said that he would do whatever he could to mess with us just to keep us hooked and crave more and more. That's one of the reasons why he's among the few favorites of mine, with Joss being my all-time favorite of course. Then there's Tim Burton (old Burton films though, not so much the newer ones). He is truly a visionary. The worlds he creates are astonishing to see.
Wow, really got off topic with that one. I don't know, I just love discussing film and all its aspects. One of the reasons why I'm majoring in Media Production. I would give anything to do what these guys get to do for a living.
- Farewell, gentle FF connoisseurs

-SgtGump, by verbatim I meant if Jules said it to Book word-for-word like that. I didn't mean that Jules said it verbatimly in that scene.

I think the good Shepherd Book would say that we are all potential shepherds. All that we need to do to take up the role is to be our brother's keeper. I think he would say that God will really strike down the evil person who tries to hinder the righteous person who is trying to help others find "the way." It's kind of a scary warning really. Don't mess with the messengers of God. He will really mess with you so much more, and you will know it.

first off, the briefcase. I can't see it being MW's soul, since the holdup dude at the restaurant looks at it and says "is that what i think it is?" and the BMF nods. I think the boring answer is the only one that really fits. It's gold. Bars of gold that are way too shiny to just be gold, but I'm just sayin...GOLD!

As to Book's response... I think he'd suggest leaving the vengeance to God. Attempting to be a shepherd is a fine way to live your life, but dishing out vengeance in the name of the Lord requires a higher mandate if it's to be official. Just opening brainpans of anyone who gets in your way is hardly acting on the will of the Lord.

Kneecaps, on the other hand..

Yeah, it probably was gold. Samuel L's charactor was very entertaining to watch, I can't quite put my finger on why but he was my favorite charactor in that movie, I only saw it recently so its fresh in my mind. I think Book wouldn't like the idea of someone quoting Scripture (or mostly quoting) and gunning down drug dealer types while doing it, he'd think it was odd, at least I thought it was odd. But he sure did sound good saying it. :)

And where did all these new people come from?
