Where did the sound from Charlie Kelly's AWESOME song on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia come from????

I finally found it!!!! Who the hell is "Procol Harum" and how are they so un-popular that it took THAT much work for me to finally find it?????

Awesome Keyboard! That's what I remembered probably 30 years after I heard it like one time......

If you liked that, and you like Danny Devito just constantly making a huge ass of himself. You should be watching season 10 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and the first 9 on Netflix.

If you're a fan of November Rain by Guns and Roses, like I am.... You will also see glaring similarities.....

Wow.... tell me that it's not ALSO the lesser known but still very awesome Oasis song from 1996.... "Don't Look Back in Anger"

Awesomeness begets Awesomeness...

I wasn't a fan of most of Guns N'Roses myself even though my younger cousin was a major fan.

"A Whiter Shade of Pale" came out in the 60s at some point. Seems to me a counterpoint to the Beatles when they were going through their hippie stage.

Interesting you would say so. I would think that most people would consider Elvis the counterpoint to the Beatles, but most people are either 100% on one side or the other on the issue.

This is a much more interesting conversation to me. :)

Would I ever say that "A Whiter Shade of Pale" was better than anything the Beatles ever did? Not in a million years....

That doesn't mean that one wouldn't find it infinitely more intriguing than at least 2/3rds of the Beatles catalog.

Now the Beatles that's the ticket.

There were some excellent Post-Beatles songs that were made after I was born.....

John Lennon's "Imagine" or my personal favorite Christmas song of all time "Happy Christmas"....

Who could ever forget George Harrison's epic "Got My Mind Set on You"? Or "My Sweet Lord"?

One of my favorite songs I grew up with was "Much Too Late for Goodbyes"...

I know I'm probably wrong about this, but I like to imagine that little Julian Lennon grew up knowing he was no more famous than I could ever dream to be. He just shot up out of bed one day when he was like 32 years old and yelled "Holy Shit!!!! My Dad was in the Fucking Beatles!!!!!!!!!"

I wonder though... if you listen to the other songs that I posted, do you not see the glaring similarities?

With different words and a different tempo and different instruments, it's just a rehashing of a song that was once magical......

I felt I would be doing you an injustice if I didn't show you one of the best songs ever made, although I'm really just showing others because I know you know and love it.

Feel free to disagree, but having a 2nd John Lennon voice in the 80's was a boon to the economy... at least for that month....

I hope the reason Julian Lennon isn't an epic Rock God like his dad is because he just farted on it and went on his way. It certainly wasn't because he wasn't just as talented as dad.

What you are hearing is a basic beat that shows up in music all the time. It is the drums going boom ba boom boom ba boom boom. Other than that I don't think any of these songs are even close to sounding the same.

Great find with the 60's song. Bin a long time since I heard it. You are right by the way. This was a group trying to capture the magic in a bottle know as the Beatles, they were not a counter to them.

I get what you're saying totally, although I've never been trained at all in music outside of trying to teach myself guitar before I became arthritic. I don't count all those Karaoke songs. That was just pleasure ;)

I remember being at clubs and just rhyming new songs with old Tupac beats that were playing to show them exactly what you're saying now.

That was 10 years ago......

I won't even talk to somebody who talks about Tupac as Old Skool if they wore diapers when I was in Jr. High. ;)

Your love of music is well established here. I too taught myself to play an instrument. The drums was my choice. I could play but not to the standard of playing in a bar. I could have if I had stuck with it but hey, I did have fun.

I love your love for the music brother...

I'm a music IDIOT except for my love for music.

I could tell you about 10 jokes I know about how the drummer isn't a real member of the band.

Fuck that.....

You keep the Tempo....

If you didn't pick it up in the late 90's, we wouldn't have loved this song....

I only have limited resources man... hard to beat that, unless you got something to beat that down. ;)

To all those who joke the drummer is not a member of the band I would suggest they make of list of successful bands without a drummer.

Tell me that Julian Lennon wasn't fit to take his father's crown because he was just far too much beeffcake. :)

"Fuck you dad. I'm doing whatever I want.".

Love it....

Haha...

Thanks for letting me know that Jongs....

Though I've never seen the movie, that might be the only reason that I eventually found it online the other day with google searches like "great keyboard from 60's".

I honestly could never tell you where I remember ever hearing it in the past. It's just one of those crazy intangibles.

Great song though, ain't it?
